Happy Saturday everyone!! By the time many of you read this post, I will be on my way upstate to visit my Mom and Dad. I am so excited to see my Dad to celebrate his birthday and see that he is truly on the mend after his earlier bout with a kidney infection.

This week's challenge should you choose to accept it is called "IN SO MANY WORDS..."
Words can be SO MUCH fun when you play around with them on your creations! Sometimes people forget what sentiments/wording can do to really make your project fabulous!! You can make your sentiment 'stand alone', use words/letters for a background or make a wonderful collage with them. Be creative....

Our Sponsor this week is:

CLICK HERE to see their website!

They have SO graciously donated four image stamps, three word stamps and eight transparency images to the winner of this challenge for plenty of stamping FUN
Now, if that's not enough, Prickley Pear has set up the design team with some images to showcase on this week's creations.

MY CREATION
Since today is Halloween and all the images I received from Prickley Pear were Halloween, I decided to made a Halloween set. My card and 2--5-7-10 Treat Box were created with the Black Cat Image and Midnight Prowl sentiment from Prickley Pear. I recently bought this Halloween dp from Michaels called Spooky Alley-My Minds Eye.

*Welcome Jodi!!!*
We also have a NEW Spotlight Guest Diva joining us for a three month time period! We are very excited to welcome the very sweet and oh so talented Jodi Ann Lee from Inked Inspirations to our team!! Please be sure to welcome her!

I have been blessed with the opportunity to work with Jodi on the Flutter By Wednesday Challenge Design Team as well! She is so talented and sweet and I can't wait to work with her as a Spotlight Diva as well. Congrats Jodi!!

Happy Friday!!! Phew! The weekend is upon us!!
I am sorry if I have not been around to comment on all of your blogs, the flooding, commitments and computer glitches really ate a lot of my time the past few days. Hopefully, I can get to you today!!

Today I would like to share a card I made for the Stampin Sisters in Christ Challenge. using the Our Daily Bread Designs Friendship stamp set and a sneak peek set from ODBD called Blessed Christmas.

STAMPIN SISTER IN CHRIST CHALLENGE

Laurie Gatton was the hostess this week at Stampin Sisters in Christ and she chose the scripture:

I Chronicles 16:34 “Give thanks to the Lord, for he is good; his love endures forever.” (NIV)

The challenge was:
Make a card that expresses your thankfulness for someone or something they have done, or that encourages someone to be thankful.

I used the Our Daily Bread Designs Friendship stamp set and a sneak peek set from ODBD called Blessed Christmas. I used the Mojo 110 sketch.

[Mojo110Sketch.gif]

Card Recipe:
Stamps : Our Daily Bread Designs- Friendship and sneak peek to be released Nov 1- Blessed Christmas
Paper: Basic Grey Figgy Pudding, Baja Breeze, Chocolate Chip

Kristine is also one of the founders and Senior Dt members of the Stampin Sisters in Christ Challenge. When things were very frustrating for me yesterday....she brought a true smile to my face and a glow in my heart. Look at these goodies!! Isn't she just so talented and sweet. Happy Thursday Everyone!! Boy am I running late today. A lot of things going on here. I am still cleaning up from another flood we had in our basement yesterday. With all the rain we have had, again we had a flood. This the second time in the last few months. In the 11 years we have been here, this has never happened before. I actually looking forward to snow, atleast then it won't flood us out (not that I really am ready for snow either but it is better than flooding). I didn't lose any of my craft items since I made sure after the last flood it was up high but I haven't be able to get to them either. I was able to get to them this p.m. so I can start creating again.

Anywho...I have a card that I had made with supplies I received from my new Stash at Our Daily Bread Designs. Today I would like to share a sneak peak of some of the new releases in November.

I made this card using the SC252 and the new releases for Our Daily Bread Designs on November 1: Christmas Verses and Blessed Christmas. The dp is from SEI and is called Christmas mint. This is really quite CAS for me! LOL!

Stamps: Our Daily Bread Designs- Christmas Verses and Blessed Christmas

Paper: White, Real Red, SEI Christmas Mint

Accessories: Hero Arts Pearls, Gold Baubles, EK Success Moraccan Lace, Spellbinders Labels 4, gold embossing powder, distress inks for coloring from Tim Holtz, Vintage Corner Die from Cuttlebug, American Crafts Gold Ribbon

On November 1st the Our Daily Bread Designs design team will be having a blog hop to show creations made with the new releases. There will be prizes and lots of inspiration, so we hope you can join us.

Thanks for stopping by today and for all your comments. I so appreciate you all!!

Happy Hump Day Everyone! I can't believe it is Wednesday already. Where does the time go?!! I have so much to do by Friday before I leave to go away so to think it is Wednesday scares me a bit. I really better get cracking!!

Anywho...today it is Flutter By Wednesday and the Inky Impressions Challenge. Due to lack of time and that the Flutter By Wednesday is an open challenge only requiring a butterfly or fairy, I combined the two challenges. I also incorporated the Saturday Spotlight Challenge for this weekend to create a treat box to give you other ideas on what you can do and remind you of this week's challenge. Some of you may remember my triangle treat box with Lili's Slumber Party for my daughter Nicki. Today I created a different treat box for my daughter, Meghan using the Lili's Stuffed Bunny and the popcorn bowl from Lili's Slumber Party. Inky Impressions challenge this week was to incorporate sewing on your card or project and do not use dp.

I created my background on pink piroutte using my distress ink the butterfly Ecstasy small template and the stars from SU Basic Backgrounds (retired a long time ago). I hope you can see my sewing on my oval and the decorative stitching on the box itself. Now this box is one that I consider very girly with the colors ribbon and lace. The image is water colored with distress inks and popped on dimensionals. I am beginning to really love water coloring with these distress inks, the results are so bold and cheery!!The ribbon I used is a gift from my daughter for my birthday. She is tickled pink that I used it!!! The top ribbon says "cute, sweet and precious".

I have included the triangle treatbox I made for my other daughter just in case some of you missed it over the weekend. The image used for this one is Slumber Party Lili. We have started
a tradition in our household to have a family movie/slumber party on Halloween weekend since we don't celebrate halloween at our house. I have a treasure hunt for them and then we celebrate our family and fall with a movie and slumber party.

I hope these creations inspire you to join in one of these FUN challenges.

Remember for Flutter By Wednesday is another open week. Just create a card with a butterfly or a fairy on it.
I also wanted to add that since the holidays are right around the corner...We think that angels "flutter by" too so feel free to add angels to your creations for the holidays.
Leave a direct link to your creation in Mister Linky. If you upload to SCS or PCP, please use the keyword, FBW. Can't wait to see what YOU create!! For more inspiration, for this challenge, please visit my dt sisters:
Today's challenge for Inky Impressions is to use Inky Impressions Stamps/Image to make a card or project without using any Designer Paper and ADD Real or Faux Stitching. For more inspiration for this challenge, please visit my dt sisters:
Please leave a direct link to your creation here.

If you create a treat box for the Saturday Spotlight, please leave a direct link here. If you click on the link, you will also see all the dt girls treat boxes. There is a great variety!!

Thanks so much for stopping by!! I hope that in some way I have inspired you to create and have fun! I have been so blessed by your comments and visits as well as all the inspiration and posts on your blogs.

Just a reminder, my blog candy ends in two days! There is a link to it on my top right sidebar if you are interested.

Have a great day!!
Blessings,
Chris

Happy Monday to you all!! I hope you all had a great weekend. My how fast the weekend does go. I had hoped on doing some crafting but my family had other plans. Since the kids only stay young once and time is precious with family, I gave in to them and put my addiction away for the weekend. I did have time to create two cards using the Inspiration Challenge on Saturday and the Featured Stamper Challenge on Sunday.

My first card incorporated the Inspiration Challenge. Stef gave us links to the Anthropologie site and I used this romper as my inspiration. The photo is kind of small but I think you get the idea. It has ivory lace at the top, with a big brown rose in the center.

Ordinarily I would not have made a chocolate chip rose but it fit with this inspiration (from the IC203 challenge at SC) so I stamped my Bella Bloom Rose in Chocolate Chip. The layout I used is from Spoonful of Sugar that my dt sister and friend, Debbie hosted this past week. The gold paper is not really gold paper but rather gold embossing. Each of the panels is dry embossed with the Leaves folder and then sponged with brown to make it show up more.

Card Recipe:
Stamps: Bella Blooms
Paper: Chocolate Chip, Vanilla
Accessories: Gold Embossing powder, gold cording, Ecru lace from Wright, pearls, megacurved rectangle spellbinders

This second card I made was for the FS142 challenge featuring Rachel. Congrats Rachel. After looking through her beautiful gallery, I decided to case this card http://www.splitcoaststampers.com/ga...p;ppuser=44266 . I kept most of her layout and some of the colors but changed the image, made my card square, added flowers and dry embossing, and eliminated the flourish and double ribbon.

The Warm Apple Pie image from Belles N Whistles is watercolored with distress inks and popped up using the paper tole technique. The dp is from K&Co. Sera Lera. Since I took this photo at night, I don't think it did it justice. I may have to take a new photo and edit this post when the sun comes up nice today. The distress inks add so much vibrance to the image!!

Card Recipe:
Stamps: Belles N Whistles image- Warm Apple Pie (illustrated by Elizabeth Bell)
Paper: Regal Rose, white, Sera Lera from K&Co.
Accessories: pink pearls, ZVA creative roses, Primas, sewing machine, Chocolate chip ribbon

I hope you enjoyed today's post!! I so look forward to blog hopping today. Thanks so much for stopping by and for all your comments. They mean so much to me!

blessings,
Chris

Happy Saturday Everyone!! I hope everyone has a great beginning to their weekend!! I spent the day making applesauce to freeze yesterday. It is such a messy job but so gratifying when it is done. Our house still smells like apples. I am also so thankful that my dad went for his appointment to the urologist yesterday, had the catheter removed and is improving with each day!!!

Well anywho...Today is another Saturday Spotlight Challenge. Vicki has challenged the team to create a treat box or container.
With the up-coming Halloween/Fall and Christmas Season upon us, it seems like this is a great time to get your "sweet treats" made up!! With Halloween one week from today...there's no better time like the present to start creating them!! Show us your "hidden potential" with your own version of a treat container!!
Vicki even has a tutorial available to you for a hanging treat box that she created here. The dt has created quite a variety of treat boxes to share with you!!! We hope this challenge and our creations inspire you to create as well. We have so enjoyed visiting all of your blogs to see your take on the challenge each week!

This week's sponsor is Firecracker Designs!

CLICK HERE to go to the website shop!

Pamela has very generously donated TWO adorable Fall style stamp sets to our challenge winner this week!

MY TAKE ON THE CHALLENGE

For my treat container or box, I decided to create a triangle treat box. It is hard to see the shape in this photo. Sorry!! There is a tutorial on SC for this type of treat box but I had to improvise and change mine up quite a bit because it was just too small for the goodies I planned to put in the inside (hot chocolate, marshmallows, microwave popcorn and chocolate). The SC tutorial can be found here. My intention was to make a little treat for my girls to have on our Fall Family Movie/Slumber Party night on Halloween Weekend. Isn't this image darling?!! It is one of the newer stamps released from Inky Impressions called Lili's Slumber Party. I made it purple for my daughter, Nicki, who loves purple!

The cardstock to create the treat box is dry embossed as is the oval behind Lili.

Happy Thursday everyone!! Boy are the weeks just flying by. Thanks so much to everyone for your well wishes and prayers. I actually think I am starting to get a little better. I do have a break in coughing once in a while. Phew! Maybe I am finally starting to get over this horrendous cold!

Speaking of cold....As I am thinking of cards and projects, I am starting to make headway on my holiday cards. Christmas here is usually very cold and snowy.

Anywho... on to my first creation.

I made this card for yesterday's SC251 using Roxi's sketch (She chose the sketch and sample from my friend Anne. Congrats and Anne!!) and the Stampin Sisters in Christ Challenge (create a card or project based on the nativity).

Here is Lisa's verse and challenge to her readers at Stampin Sister's in Christ:

Lisa couldn't help but chose the scripture Luke 2:11: "Today in the town of David a Savior has been born to you; he is Christ the Lord." (NIV) Now that many of us are starting to think about Christmas, she wanted to remind us that it is more important than ever that we keep foremost in our minds what Christmas is all about. Jesus is the reason for the season!

STAMPIN SISTERS IN CHRIST CHALLENGE

The challenge is to m
ake a card or project featuring the nativity or other religious theme about Christ's birth.

I used the We Three Kings from Our Daily Bread Designs. I colored it with Prisma color pencils and gamsol. I sprayed the entire card with pearl glimmermist. It has a real shimmer in real life but not in this photo. The paper is Basic Grey Eskimo Kisses, my favorite!

Stamps: Our Daily Bread Designs: We Three Kings

Paper: Soft sky, Chocolate Chip, BG Eskimo Kisses

Accessories: MS Snowflake border punch, pearls, Snowflakes embossing folder, pearl glimmermist, Choc chip corduroy buttons, baja breeze ribbon, gold cording, paper piercer

The second card I created for LSC240 Christmas tree, WT238 Say it With Pizaaz, and La La Weekly's challenge to add sparkle. As I stamped this out, I imagined going out in the woods with the family on a wintery day looking for the perfect Christmas tree.

Some of the trees are embossed with holographic embossing powder to give it sparkle. I also made a mess of my classic frame by stamping versamark over top and then lifting the frame off and embossing it with holographic powder as well. It is hard to capture the sparkle in this photo. The corners are created with silver glitter paper, the ribbon is a glittered lace and their is sparkly embossing throughout. You may be able to see the sparkle more if you click on the picture for a close up.

Card Recipe:
Stamps: SU Lovely as a tree, Cardinal Christmas
Paper: White, Silver Glitter Paper
Accessories: Hodgepodge Hardware, Vintage Corners, Spellbinders lattice border for ribbon treatment, Classic Frame Spellbinders, Snowflakes embossing folder, holographic embossing powder, bling

Thanks for stopping today and for all your wonderful comments. I hope to stop at all your blogs this p.m. after piano lessons, doctor appointments, and running errands. Have a great day!!

Happy Hump Day Everyone!! I hope you are all having a fab week so far!! I am doing o.k although I have to admit my cold is really taking me down. I now have pulled a muscle by my stomach due to the coughing. Boy does that ever hurt. I am so sorry this post is late but I had little sleep last night and overslept after taking some meds that make me drowsy.

Anywho...on to today's Flutter By Wednesday and Inky Impressions Challenge!!!

Today's INky Impressions challenge is to use Inky Impressions Stamps/Image to make a card following this sketch.

Since the Flutter By Wednesday 80 Challenge is to create a card or project using a fairy or butterfly, I decided to combine the two. I also wanted to make a card for Cancer Awareness month in honor of mother in law who passed away from Cancer. She is deeply missed. This card is going to a friend whose family is affected by cancer. Hope she likes it. I used the Inky Impressions stamp Awareness Ribbon Girl. The background is created with pieces of Penny Black stamps and the Whiff of Joy Butterfly. The sentiment is from SU Riveting. As a dt member of the Saturday Spotlight Challenge, I also wanted to remind you of this week's challenge to create a scene. This card meets this challenge as well.

Card Recipe:
Stamps: Inky Impressions Ribbon Awareness Girl, SU Riveting, Whiff of Joy Butterfly, Penny Black Asking The Flowers
Paper: BG Eskimo Kisses, Pretty in PInk, Bazzill BitterChocolate
Accessories: Floral embossing folder, buttons, Prima Dandies, MS Fern Leaf punch, Spellbinders Circles

To see other creations using the sketch from Inky Impressions, you can visit my dt sisters:
Shary, Pam, Crystal, Jacqui, and Kristen.

We would love to have you join us for this challenge!

*******************************************

This second card also qualifies for today's Flutter By Wednesday Challenge. I incorporated th Mojo 109 Sketch and the CC241 Color Challenge Always Bravo Cameo hosted by my dt sister Betty. I used the Pocket Silhouettes and Great Friend Stamps from SU. The dp is BG Indian Summer. The die I used from Spellbinders for my image and sentiment panel is Labels 9.

Card Recipe: SU Pocket Silhouettes, Great Friend
Paper: Bravo Burgundy, Very Vanilla, BG Indian Summer
Accessories: Embossing folders floral and divine swirls, button, gold cording, satin ribbon, Spellbinders Labels 9

I hope you enjoyed today's Flutter By Wednesday creations. I hope you too will join the fun. If you should CREATE A CARD OR PROJECT WITH A FAIRY OR BUTTERFLY, please leave a direct link here. If you upload your creation to SC or PCP, please use the keyword FBW.

The black oval is diecut using a Spellbinders Oval and dry embossed with Divine Swirls. The red Triangles are sewn and dry embossed with Textile although most of it is covered by other panels. Happy Monday Everyone!! I hope everyone had a great weekend and is ready for a brand new week. I tried to relax as much as possible to get over this miserable cold I have. It was chilly so we had a fire indoors. Hard to believe that winter is almost hear already and the cold has begun so early in October!!

Today I have two cards to share with you. The first is a wiper card for today's TLC243 Wiper Card Challenge at SC. I used the sketch from Friday Sketchers for my card front. The stamp set I used is SU Snow Swirled. the designer paper is Eskimo Kisses from Basic Grey (my absolute Favorite Christmas Paper this year!)

Card Recipe:
Stamps: SU Snow Swirled
Paper: BG Eskimo Kisses, Pink Pirouette, Old Olive, White CS
Accessories: Snowflakes embossing folder, Fleur De Lis Punch from EK Success, paper piercer, gold baubles, sponge, sewing machine, gold cording, cropodile, Spellbinder Ribbon Tags Trio, Snow Flurries from Last years holiday mini

I made this card for my Dad who was admitted to the hospital on Friday with a kidney infection. It was his birthday on Saturday also and he had to spend it in the hospital. I am hoping that this card and the birthday card I made for him cheer him up a bit. Thankfully he is now home and doing a bit better. He is on lots of medication and is still has a catheter. He sees a urologist this week and is off from work for the week.

For this card I used yesterday's Featured Stamper Challenge. Congrats to DancerRiley on being chosen this week's Featured Stamper. You have an incredible gallery of beautiful cards to choose from. I chose this one to case: http://www.splitcoaststampers.com/ga...;ppuser=113092 . I kept her basic layout, leaving off the snowflake and changing the oval to a bigger square, the sentiment, images, and color scheme. I also added button brads on the corners, a slide with ribbon, and a punched border.

Stamps: Our Daily Bread Designs Doodles 1 Get Well, With Heartfelt Sympathy
Paper: Basic Grey Marakech, Black, White CS
Accessories: EK Success Moraccan Lace, Button Brads (black), grosgrain ribbon (black), paper piercer

Happy Saturday Everyone!! The weekend is here and so is the snow. I don't think we have ever had snow this early. Yikes!! Since I am still trying to get over my nasty cold which is just wiping me out, I may just have to stay in bed. Cozy and warm!

I was originally suppose to spend the weekend with my parents to celebrate my Dad's birthday but I wanted to give him a gift but not this nasty cold, the gift that just keeps on giving. LOL! Happy Birthday Dad!! My heart and thoughts are with you! Edited to include: I just went to call my Dad for his birthday and found out he is in the hospital this morning. He was taken by ambulance last night after visiting the doctor. This week seems to be getting better and better...He is going to be o.k. but please pray for him. What a way to spend his birthday!

Today is Saturday Spotlight with Hidden Potential and it is another awesome challenge. This weeks challenge is sponsored by Squigglefly. Squigglefly has a lot of awesome digis.

Squigglefly has GENEROUSLY donated to the winner of this challenge picked by random.org
TWO FREE digital images of choice!!!
In addition, Vicki would also like to throw in a THIRD FREE digital image from her just for playing along with us at Saturday Spotlight! :)

Congratulations to last week's top 3 of the SSHP02 challenge. We loved all your creations and sure had a hard time picking just 3! Congrats Sandra, Sarah, and Judy for making the top 3 and KYM for winning the $15 gift certicificate to DRS Designs.

Now for today's challenge.....

*For this week's challenge, we would like to see you "MAKE A SCENE!" (No, not that type of scene!) Use your rubber stamps, digital images, die cuts, stickers, photos or anything that tickles your fancy and create a scenery type project with it! You can ALWAYS make something else besides a card for these challenges! Try a scrapbook page, 3-D item or ATC! Just have fun & let's see you make a scene!!*

Since it is almost Halloween, I thought it would be fun to make a Halloween type card with Halloween colors. The images I used are from CC Designs. They are so sweet!! The lace I use in the background I won from Stephanie's blog candy. I just thought it would go perfect with the Halloween Designer paper. For some reason the branches that I embossed on the white background with the Leaves embossing folder is not showing up in the picture.

Here is my creation:

For more inspiration for this challenge, you really have to check out the awesome creations of my dt sisters as well as our guest designer Holly Young - (Guest Designer & Squigglefly Supporter Extraordinnaire) You will be so inspired by all these creations!! They are fabulous!

I hope you are inspired and you too will create a card or project for this challenge. If you do, please leave a direct link to Mr. Linky here. If you upload your creation to PCP or SC, please use the keyword SSHP03. We love seeing all your creations!!

Since the Stampin Sisters in Christ Challenge has begun, I have not missed one of their challenges and I was so afraid I would not be able to complete a card for this week with how I have been feeling.

Kathy chose the scripture Jeremiah 1:5 "Before I formed you in the womb I knew you..." (NIV)

"Each of us is chosen by God, too, for a special purpose. He knows us intimately, and He wants us to know Him intimately. Each of us has special gifts and talents that we need to share with others. When we do this, we truly experience the heart of God. And what a tremendous feeling that is!"

Kathy's challenge "The challenge is to make a baby card or project, or a card for an expectant mother (or expectant parents). A baby shower card would be perfectly fine, too. I think you get the idea!
"

This has got to be one of the quickest cards I have made, incorporating yesterday LSC242- Half done challenge (to use a premade or preprinted card as the base). I use a pre-embossed card from Die Cuts with a View. The image is House Mouse A Beary Special Friend-Monica. I colored the image with copics and did the background with chalks my daughter insisted I use ( she bought a few for me for my birthday and was eager to have me use them)

I added a scallop with my Moraccan Lace punch from EK Success (in keeping with the Creative Card Crew Challenge). The sentiment is from Our Daily Bread Designs- Children of God. Added some silver baubles and ribbon and I am done! I plan to send this to my niece who just had a baby boy. (I can't believe I am a great Aunt. My husband's brothers are 10 years older than him and 4 of them are married or having children. Yikes! Time flies! We have 2 more grandnieces or nephews coming in the next 2 months!)

Thanks so much for stopping by and for all your comments!! I hope you enjoyed my creations and that you are enjoying your weekend. I especially hope you have time to create!!

Blessings,
Chris
