ODBD Bread Basket

Happy Tuesday Friends!! I hope you are all well!!

Today I am popping in to share a card I made with this week's sketch at the Our Daily Bread Designs Shining the Light challenge!! I just love sketches and it truly is amazing how you can use the same sketch and make two very different cards!!

For my creation I used the tea cup from Birthday Blessings and cut it out.  It is layered on ODBD Vintage Flourish Pattern and Vintage Labels.  The border along the bottom is ODBD Beautiful Borders.
The dp is from my scrap bin.  I know the top layer is a Basic Grey Porcelain dp.

This card is for a dear older lady from church who has been very ill.  Each week I try to make a dinner for her or encourage her in some way.

Jesus through out the Bible gave to those in need.  This is just a couple of life verses to encourage us to help others:

Romans 12:20  If your enemies are hungry, give them something to eat. And if they are thirsty, give them something to drink...

Ephesians 4:32 Be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving one another just as in Christ God has forgiven you.

We are called to be compassionate in our Christian walk not only to our friends and family but also our enemies or those we may dislike. Every day we see people who are in need.  We hear about them on the news, in our schools, and more.  Yet in today's world, it's become so easy to only look at our own needs and consider those in need invisible.  When I am down or frustrated about when I am currently not able to do, it encourages me when thinking of others that may have it worse than I that I can help.  Is there someone you know who could use your help or encouragement?

Thanks for stopping by!! I hope you enjoy my creation!! For more inspiration for this challenge, please visit my dt sisters: Cheryl Scrivens, DJ Rants, Diana Nyugen, Robin Clendenning, Linda Carson, and Elizabeth Whisson.

Hello Friends!!  I hope you all have enjoyed the summer so far...here school has begun for my girls, whom I home school, and all the kids in the county.  I can't believe it!!!

Today I am sharing a card for the Our Daily Bread Design Shining the Light challenge. It is a sketch!!

I used the crocus image from the set Let the Earth Rejoice.  I so love blue lavender, maybe because it reminds me of a clear summer or spring day!!

The pennants are created with the ODBD Pennant Swag die and the image is framed with the Vintage Flourish Pattern die.  The border along the bottom is created with the ODBD Beautiful Borders die.

Hello Friends!! Today the Bread Basket at Our Daily Bread Designs will be sharing some creations using the stamps released at the beginning of this month.  We have had such fun creating and we hope you are inspired in some way by our creations.

Here is my creation using the August Release: Anchor the Soul.  The Mighty Sea (prior release), Vintage Flourish Pattern die, and Vintage Labels were also used.

I had so much fun creating this scenic center step!!  I colored it with copics and added white acrylic paint on the waves for more depth or texture.  The sentiment is cut out with the Labels 4 die (Spellbinders).

Here is the photo of the new release used:

Happy Tuesday Friends!! I hope you are having a great beginning to your day!!

Today I am popping in to share a card using a sketch for the Shining the Light challenge at Our Daily Bread Designs!!

I just love the variety of styles you can create when you create cards, this week I am going from the masculine take on the Shining the Light sketch to the more feminine with lots of texture.

I colored and fussy cut the Rose image from Our Daily Bread Designs.  I popped it up on a layer of Majestic Labels that is also cut out using the Vintage Labels dies from ODBD.  It was then layered on the Vintage Flourish Pattern die.

After embossing the background with the Paper Studio Quatrefoil embossing folder, I adhered some pearls.  The card is framed with the Spellbinders Valiant Honor Die.

Our Daily Bread Designs, Flip Flop Fun, Rose, Vintage Labels dies, Vintage Flourish Pattern Dies, designer-Chris Olsen

Card Recipe:
ODBD Stamps Used: Flip Flop Fun, Rose
ODBD Dies Used: Vintage Labels, Vintage Flourish Pattern
Spellbinders dies: Majestic Labels 25 dies, Valiant Honor dies
other: scrap ribbon, Quatrefoil embossing folder from Paper Studio, Pearls

Part of enjoying or making the most of a day is being thankful to God for each and every day!!  No day is a guarantee and is indeed a gift!!  My recent accident, has taught me how quickly things can happen or how what seems little things can be life threatening.  Who would have thought tripping over a wheel barrow and breaking or injuring a leg would end up in a major pulmonary embolism. Never take life and health granted.  Have you thanked God for the day He has given to you!!

Hello Friends!! I hope you are all enjoying the last bits of summer!! It is hard to believe how time is flying.  While my kids began their home school curriculum on Monday, all the kids in this area go back to school next week.  Wow!! Summer is over already...

Today I want to share a summer time image.  Since I can't go on vacation, I have decided to bring the ocean to me through stamps.

I had such fun coloring up the Mighty Sea and Waves on the Sea images from Our Daily Bread Designs.  The sentiment is from the newly released Anchor the Soul.

The window is created with a circle and square die.  The Cuttlebug tiny bubbles embossing folder is sponged on a soft aqua background.  The image is colored with copics, acrylic white and chalk.

I made this for a dear male friend of my husband and I's from church who recently lost his mother.  I hope this card brings him comfort.  In times of trouble, it is such a comfort to know God is our anchor.

This card incorporates several challenges at Splitcoast Stampers for the Dare to Get Dirty challenges.  If you are not a fan club member, this may a good time to join.  It is so much fun to join in for these challenges and there are so much inspiration to see.

I hope you enjoy my creation!!

Happy Tuesday Friends!! I hope you are having a great beginning to your day!!

Today I am popping in to share a card using a sketch for the Shining the Light challenge at Our Daily Bread Designs!!  I used one of my fave images from the recent release called Anchor the Soul!!  I also used The Mighty Sea. The embossed background is the Paper Studio Quatrefoil.

Anchors are a symbol of strength!! I am so glad that my Saviour reigns and that I have hope to go through each day and the hope that some day I will be with Him!  In times of trials I have one set of footprints as it is Him who carries me.

When I think of this verse: I think of this song by Ray Boltz, The Anchor Holds.  You can listen to the song here on YOUtube

I have journeyed
Through the long, dark night
Out on the open sea
By faith alone
Sight unknown
And yet His eyes were watching me
The anchor holds
Though the ship is battered
The anchor holds
Though the sails are torn
I have fallen on my knees
As I faced the raging seas
The anchor holds
In spite of the storm
I've had visions
I've had dreams
I've even held them in my hand
But I never knew
They would slip right through
Like they were only grains of sand
The anchor holds
Though the ship is battered
The anchor holds
Though the sails are torn
I have fallen on my knees
As I faced the raging seas
The anchor holds
In spite of the storm
I have been young
But I am older now
And there has been beauty
These eyes have seen
But it was in the night
Through the storms of my life
Oh, that's where God proved
His love to me
The anchor holds
Though the ship's been battered
The anchor holds
Though the sails are torn
I have fallen on my knees
As I faced the raging seas
The anchor holds
In spite of the storm
I have fallen on my knees
As I faced the raging seas
The anchor holds
In spite of the storm

Hello all!! Welcome to another fun ODBD Release!!  With summer in full swing... the team is sharing some "Fun in the Sun" summer sets being released today at Our Daily Bread Designs!

You will want to hop along for lots of inspiration from my talented dt sisters as well as for a chance to win some prizes.  Three winners will be randomly chosen to receive a $15 gift certificate toward stamps at the ODBD store from the comments published on the Release post of randomly selected ODBD designers.  You have until August 2, 2014 at 9 pm EST to leave your comments for your chance to win.  The winners will be posted on the ODBD blog on August 3.

For my first creation I used My Lifeguard, Anchor the Soul, and Walk with Jesus from this months stamp release as well as The Waves on the Sea from a previous release to make a Double Display Card.  What a fun fold and it was so much easier to use the pre-cut Double Display Folds now available at ODBD!!  The designer paper is some OLD Designer paper from my K & Co. Margo pack perfect for distressing.  The image was colored with copics and cut and mounted with the ODBD Vintage Flourish Pattern dies and Vintage Labels die.

For my second creation, I used Walk with Jesus and the Flip Flop dies from this months stamp release as well as the Apron and Tools dies. Don't the shovel and fork make the perfect sand tools!! I  created my own template for the sun and rays as well as ripped my own sand dunes.  The clouds were sponged using a scalloped oval die. The bottom sentiment is recessed using a Labels 4 die.

Here is a photo of the new releases used on my creations:
