Happy Thursday everyone!! Today I am excited since we are on our way to Lake in Wood Campground in Lancaster Pennsylvania!!  Our family has been looking forward to this trip for quite a while!!  I feel like a child with his hands in the candy jar!!

I can't believe how fast time has gone...and that August is almost over.  Wow...time flies.  With the beginning of a new month comes another new release at Our Daily Bread Designs.  I just love the new sets!!!  They are so versatile, fun and beautiful.  Today I would like to share a sneak peak of a few of the wonderful sets being released at Our Daily Bread Designs on Saturday: Be Joyful, Lilacs, and Scripture Series 3.  I masked and colored the beautiful images with copics to create a scene.  The sky is sponged with Soft Sky (Stampin Up ink). The May Arts Silk Ribbon is laced through the  Our Daily Bread Designs Fence Die. I then pierced around the edges, layered my card and framed it with Spellbinders Romantic Rectangles.

Happy Tuesday Friends!! It has been a bit since I posted last.  I am sorry for my absence.  Life has just been so busy with little time to craft.  I have done a few things behind the scenes but am unable to share them yet.  I hope all is well with you and you are enjoying what is left of your summer.

Today I am popping in to share this week's Shining the Light challenge at Our Daily Bread Designs.

This week's challenge is to use stitching.  Anyone who knows me or my cards, knows that I love to sew on my cards.  I have done a little less sewing lately, however since the movers dropped my sewing machine and I had to get a new one.  I so miss my old machine.  Anywho...I did have fun with this challenge.

My verse is embossed and gold.  This is a perfect verse to provide comfort to a dear friend who is going through a rough patch in her life.  I hope it comforts her as much as it comforts me.

Hello Friends!! Today several of the "Bread Basket" members at Our Daily Bread Designs are having a blog hop to wish our dear friend and dt sister Randi a Happy Birthday!!

If you arrived from Silke's blog you are in the right place, if not, you may want to start at the beginning for more inspiration and a chance to win one of three prizes.  Kelley is offering three different hoppers who leave comments on each of our blogs, who wish Randi a Happy Birthday, and leave a comment on the ODBD Blog one of her Happy Birthday sets. This hop will end on Wednesday, August 22 at 8 p.m.

Randi is a very special lady who has been suffering with cancer.  She is an AMAZING woman with a real testimony for the Lord despite all the hardship she has gone through.  She is an inspiration to all who know her.  I am blessed to have her as a friend.  Many may remember the stamp set Randi's Song that Kelley released in Randi's Honor.  Well today we are also having a hop in her honor.  Happy 60th Birthday Randi!!! We love you and miss you!!!!!!

The card which I have made for Randi uses the Small Sweet William set from Our Daily Bread Designs.  The sentiment is stamped on twill ribbon. The sweet william image is stamped on designer paper and cut out with the Spellbinders Blossom 3 dies.  All the designer paper is from Prima Botanicals and Prima Sun Kiss.  The envelope is made with kraft cs and the Eyelet Circles from Spellbinders.  The leaves are sponged and cut out with Spellbinders Vine Borders.

Here are some of the stamps and dies and used for this creation:

This week's challenge:
is to use sponging on your creation.

Here is my take on the challenge:

My creation uses the Daisy Background from Our Daily Bread Designs which I embossed in white and then sponged with Almost Amethyst (it did not photo the right color).

The flowers from Don't Worry  was colored with copics in monochromatic colors. The leaves are cut from the Spellbinders Grand on the Vine and sponged with amethyst. The image is framed with the Spellbinders Fleur De Lis Motifs

Happy Monday Friends!!  I hope you all have enjoyed the weekend!!  Weekends just seem to fly by!!

Today I would like to pop in to share a card that I made for Splitcoasts WT387 "Something Old, Something New, Something Borrowed,  or Something Blue challenge with the dessert option of making a wedding card.

I used a New release from Our Daily Bread Designs, Old embossing folders, and blue. I could not figure out anything for the borrowed...

For my creation I used the Bookmark Trees for my image panel and 1 Corinthians for my sentiment.

The image is framed with the Petite Ovals from Spellbinders, the Floral Doily Accents (border which was cut apart and pieced), and the Ironwork Accents. The butterfly is Cheery Lynn Small Exotic Butterfly dies cut out of Baja Breeze dp with some added SPARKLE!! The outside oval is created by inking the negative side of the embossing folder and running it through my Grand Caliber.

Just a thought: The 1 Corinthians set went perfectly with the sermon at church yesterday about Love...If we have not true genuine love...we have not lived.  This is not the love of a man and a woman...but the Love of God.  A love that does not act for our own gain but for the well being of others.  What motivates you to act?  That is the question I will be asking myself each time I do something this week.

Here is one of my favorite passages in the stamp I used on my card...although I used only one word...

Hello Friends!! I hope this post finds you all well.  It has been very warm and humid here.  Today the girls and I plan to meet some friends at the lake.  We are looking forward to it!!!

Before I pack our picnic lunch and prepare to go, however, I wanted to share a card I created.

Yesterday I had to make a sympathy card for my husband's boss and his wife since they found out on Monday that her mother was murdered. How horrible!! I can't stop thinking about them so I had to make a card. I incorporated yesterday's sketch SC397 at  Splitcoast but made a long card and made the circle an oval.

The oval image is stamped in brilliant blue and uses Our Daily Bread Designs Bookmark Birds set. The "Praying for You" is from ODBD Mini Tags 2 . The scene stamped on the background is Bird and Butterfly Corners . The grommet is from Stampin Up. The doves are punched using a Martha Stewart Dove Punch. The dies used include: Romantic Rectangles and Petite scalloped and classic ovals.
