Happy Tuesday All!

As we speak the wind is whipping here and when I say whipping I mean whipping. It is about 80 mph winds, -2 degrees and boy does it feel like a train is right on top of us. My dear husband was going to go back to work today boy is it ever tempting for him to stay home another day. Neither of us have slept a wink all night. I sure hope some of our Christmas decorations from the outdoors are still there and not blown across the neighborhood (which they just may be). A great day to crawl back under the covers for sure.

Anywho....since it is Tuesday it is time for a new sketch from Midnight Madness!!

HAPPY NEW YEAR

To all of you from all of us here at Midnight Madness we wish you and your family a Happy, Healthy, Prosperous New year!!!! Big Congrats to our Winners this week! All the creations were outstanding!!

Happy Monday Everyone!! I hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas!!! I know our family sure did! I am still trying to recuperate and am totally exhausted! After being gone all weekend and getting home in the wee hours of the morning from our trip, I am having a real difficult time accomplishing anything or getting back in the groove. There is always tomorrow, right?

I saw this awesome sketch from Mercy's sketch #53 and knew I just had to find the time to play along. I used the image Lili's Birthday Cake! Isn't is just the sweetest image? I colored her with my copics. The paper is from SEI Bisette. I just love the colors in these papers. The border at the bottom is made with a Martha Stewart Floral Vine Border. I added diamond stickles on the cake for some shimmer.

Here is the sketch:

Well, this is a short post since I am off to share some more family time with my girls and husband before Scott has to go back to work tomorrow. I will be back with a new Midnight Madness sketch in the a.m. Until then,.....have a great night!! Thanks as always for stopping by!!

hugs,
Chris

Good Morning All!!! Today is Christmas Eve!!! Woo hoo and..... I am not ready! LOL! Oh well, I hope to be shortly. Just need to do all the wrapping.... This is the last card I am creating for Christmas! My husband and I got a gift card for his parents, so I wanted to make a nice card to hold it in so it looked like we put some thought into it.

I incorporated the Stampin Sisters in Christ Challenge sketch. Their challenge this week was to create a Christmas card with the sketch.

Due to lack of time, I am going to just make this a short post with the card ingredients.

Card Ingredients:
stamps: Our Daily Bread Designs: Peace and Joy (snowflakes, outside sentiment) Worship the Lord (Inside sentiment), and I Wait for the Lord (Candle image on the front of the card which is embossed in silver).
Paper: SU Bella Bleu, Night of Navy, Vanilla
Accessories ZVA Creative pearl flourishes and single line pearls, Labels 4 die from Spellbinders, Floral Bed Border Punch from Martha Stewart, Iron Works Cuttlebug folder (Flourish on the front), Martha Stewart corner Snowflake (smaller snowflakes), Martha Stewart snowflake, Scalloped Circle Nestabilities, silver embossing powder, star charm

I will be away for Christmas and will not be posting until next week.

May the Peace and Joy of the Christmas Message be with you this Christmas and throughout the New Year. May you enjoy time with family and friends!! Merry Christmas!

Blessings,
Chris

Happy Hump Day Everyone!! Two days until Christmas...are you ready? I am afraid whether I am ready or not, Christmas will be here! I am finishing up my gift baskets to my family and have to make some gift card holders today.

Anywho...on to today's post. Being Wednesday....It is time for a new Flutter By Wednesday and Inky Impressions Challenge!!!! Due to the busyness of the season, this week's challenge at Flutter By is very easy...open...just use a fairy, butterfly, or angel on your creation. See my angel charm hanging there?

This weeks challenge over at Inky Impressions is to Add Embossing (Dry or Heat) and Glitter or Flocking to your card or project. No need to use Inky Images but if you have them we would LOVE to see you use them!!! This challenge will be going on for TWO WEEKS. Plenty of time to come on and join in the fun!!!

I had fun combining these two challenges to create this treat container for my Mom and Dad's Christmas basket. The image is Angelica's lantern from Inky Impressions which I colored with prisma color pencils and gamsol and then clear embossed. The snow in the background is created with Liquid applique on the dry embossed swiss dots background. Although you can't tell from the photo, the snowflakes were punched out using a Martha Stewart snowflake punch and embossed with holographic glitter embossing powder for added shimmer. The top snowflake on the lid is using my Create a flake 1 spellbinder folder.

I also incorporated the Crazy 4 Challenges challenge for this week which was to create a treat package.

I hope you have time the join the fun at these challenges. Should you create a card or project for Flutter By Wednesday, with a fairy, butterfly or angel, please leave a direct link here. If you upload your creation to SC, please use the keyword FBW. For more inspiration, please visit my dt sisters:
Ann, Lelia, Danni, Stef, Christine, Kris, Nancy, Kim S. Kristie, Nicola, Harriet, Heather, Karen, Michelle, Pam and Cassie.

Should you create a card or project with dry embossing and glitter or flocking for the Inky Impressions challenge, please leave a direct link to Mr. Linky here. Remember you don't have to use an Inky Impressions image but if you have them we would love to see them. For more inspiration for this challenge, please visit my dt sisters who have lots to wow you with:
Thanks for stopping by today!!! I hope you are all enjoying your week!! Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to you all!!!

Happy Monday Everyone!! Can't believe the weekend has flown by and this week it is Christmas. Yikes!!! I am still not ready but I am afraid Christmas will come whether I am ready or not. I am not sure if it is from stress or if I pulled a muscle in my neck and shoulder when reaching for something but now I can't move my right arm very well or turn my head to the right. Very painful and it is really throwing my equilibrium off. Makes you get a headache and feel nausea. It is amazing how important each and every part of your body is and you don't realize how important it is until you hurt it. I am so blessed to be healthy and have full function most of the time. Makes me appreciate those that don't.

Anywho...I will be sharing some creations with you this week but most of which I have already made. Phew! I am moving very slowly with my current issues in my back, shoulder and neck.

I was so excited to see my dear friend Pam aka Pam124 be honored at featured stamper this past Sunday. Congrats Pam! I wanted to case one of her creations all week and finally had the opportunity. It was hard to choose just one but in the end I chose this one: http://www.splitcoaststampers.com/ga...;ppuser=176085 I kept Pam's layout but changed some of my colors, added corners on the bottom and added the flower soft globe, I recently got from Our Daily Bread Designs. The background red is scored and the snow in the globe is created with liquid applique. I also incorporated the LSC251 silver and gold with all my silver baubles.

Stamps: Our Daily Bread Designs: Worship the Lord
Paper: Dark red, Bitter Chocolate, white
Accessories: Flower Soft Globe display globe, copics, white satin ribbon, liquid applique, Lattice corner from Spellbinders, silver baubles
my blog: http://twinklesglow-glowbug.blogspot.com

Thanks so much for stopping by today!! I hope you enjoyed today's creation as much as I enjoyed making it. I am loving these flowersoft globes!!

Challenges:
LSC251 silver and gold
FS149- Featured stamper Case of Pam124 at SC

While I will be back tomorrow, I would like to wish all my Bloggging friends a Very Merry Christmas just in case I don't have the opportunity later on this week. May the peace and joy of the season be with you this Christmas and into the new year!!!!! I have been blessed with so many wonderful friends here!!

hugs,
Chris

Happy Saturday Everyone!! I am so overjoyed to have finished some of my holiday baking yesterday. I was so exhausted after baking 30 dozen cookies and being on my feet all day. It is an awesome feeling though to have that much behind me. Only five more types of cookies to make (about 15 dozen). Today, I hope to do more, however today is a Christmas Shopping day. It is not for me necessarily but for the girls. Scott will take Nicki, my oldest, for the day and I Meghan. It is super special for the girls. Their highlight is having one on one time with one parent and going out for breakfast. It is not often that the girls get one on one time with Dad so this is treasured by Nicki! Later in the afternoon it is predicted that we will be having a snow storm so we will have to an early start.

Today, I have one card to share with you.
I made this card for Tuesday's Color Challenge at Splitcoast Stampers hosted by Betty. I used the stamp Angelica's Lantern from Inky Impressions and the Classic pad from K&Co. The colors used were melon mambo, old olive, so saffron, and bitter chocolate. I water colored the image, cut it out and popped it up on dimensionals. The layout is using Mercy's MTSC52 sketch for this week.

Stamps: Inky Impressions: Angelica's Lantern, Peace and Joy from Our Daily Bread Designs
Paper: Old olive, Classic pad from K&Co.
Accessories: MS snowflake border punch
oval spellbinders, silver baubles, American crafts ribbon, angel charm

I hope you enjoyed today's post. Thanks for stopping by today and for your sweet comments. I look forward to curling up at the computer with some hot chocolate while the snow comes down this afternoon for some inspiration from your blogs. Doesn't that sound cozy?

For my easel card, I used Bubble Fun from Wags n Whiskers. The layout is using the sketch from a Spoonful of Sugar hosted by my friend and dt sister, Nikki. The paper is Basic Grey Bittersweet. The circle is made with my lattice pendant die from Spellbinders. The pearl flourish is from ZVA Creative.

Good Morning and Happy Thursday to all!! Another day has begun...I woke up early this a.m. thinking that all I have to accomplish and to the sound of very loud howling winds. It is very chilly and a blustery day for sure. A few weeks ago, it was hard to believe it was November since the weather was so mild, let me tell you winter sure has come in with a vengeance now! It is 17 degrees now.

Today I want to share with you a Christmas card I created for the Divine Diva challenge. Lori sent the team this picture of soap for our inspiration. Isn't it so festive?! I used the colors and design as my starting point and came up with this. I used the Peaceful wishes and Cardinal set from Stampin Up. The paper is Taken With Teal. I embossed the pine branches in white. The white panel is dry embossed with the Cuttlebug snowflakes folder. My image was water colored, colored and popped up on dimensionals. What do you think? Does it match the soap?

I incorporated these challenges on this creation.

Our Creative Corner Challenge
: Christmas theme.
Stampin Sisters In Christ:
My challenge to you is to get out your crafting *treasures* and use on your cards or other projects this week, in other words BLING IT UP (ie. charms, gems, pearls, dazzling diamonds, flowers, etc).
Creative Card Crew- Anything Goes
Simon Says- Christmas
Crafty Creations- Traditional Christmas

Be sure to check out the cards made by all the Divine Divas for this challenge!

Hope you are inspired to come and play along. Just leave a comment here with a link to your card. We can't wait to see what you create! The keyword for uploading on SCS will be DDIC18. Have fun!!

This card certainly reminds me how behind I am on my holiday preparations as well as my commenting. Doing a balance is so hard at this time of year.

I hope to stop at all your blogs later. Today is a holiday party for my little preschoolers at Little Lambs...so I will be here after that...Thanks for stopping by and for all your lovely comments.

Flutter By Wednesday #88

Happy Flutter By Wednesday!! Hope you are having a great week!
Thank you again for stopping by and for taking a look at my new flutter by creation using He Loves Me by Wags n Whiskers!! I sure hope you can join us this week because we LOVE seeing the wonderful creations each week!!

Our challenge this week at Flutter By Wednesday is a sketch one! Special thanks to Mercy for providing the sketch for us! Be sure to include a butterfly, fairy or angel on your creation!

I am late posting today because my earthlink email is not working properly and I did not see the sketch for today's challenge until this morning when going to Danni's blog to link my first creation!!!! Truth be known, I even forgot it was a sketch so I had to quickly create a new card!!! I hate when my day starts off that way. Don't you? Seems with the holidays approaching I am so behind on everything that I am scatter brained!!!! Anywho...it is a good thing I am an early riser and it is done already.

I water colored He Loves Me and cut the dog and adhered it with dimensionals. I created the flower using a homemade crocheted flower and my Spellbinders Flower die. The pearls are ZVA creative. The corners are using a Spellbinders Lattice die. The paper is from SEI Bisette. I ~heart~ this paper!!!
Card Recipe:
Stamps: He Loves me from Wags n Whiskers
Paper: Bitter Chocolate Bazzill, SEI Bisette
Accessories: crocheted flower, pearls, ZVA creative pearl flourishes, Spellbinders Lattice pendant die, sewing machine, distress inks, butterfly charm

For more inspiration for this challenge, please visit my dt sisters:
Ann, Lelia, Danni, Stef, Christine, Kris, Nancy, Kim S. Kristie, Nicola, Harriet, Heather, Karen, Michelle, Pam and Cassie.

Is anyone else having issues copying and pasting on blogger. It just would not work at all today. I had to write all the blog links and team members from scratch this a.m. Wow!! This is a big team. It took me forever. LOL! Oh well... if only one person uses the link to visit a dt sister, it is worth it.

I also incorporated the Stampin Sisters in Christ Challenge on this creation: Get out your crafting treasures and use them on your creations, in other words, BLING IT UP.

All Sorts
wanted pearls and swirls on their challenge this week.
Creative Card Crew: Any Thing Goes.

Thanks for stopping by today!! Should you create something for this challenge, please leave a direct link to Mr. Linky here at Flutter By Wednesday at Danni's blog. Just remember it must include a butterfly, fairy or angel. If you upload your creation to SC or PCP, please use the keyword FBW.

Thanks for stopping by my blog today and for all your wonderful comments. You all are such an encouragement!! I just love reading them. Have a great day!!

THIS WEEK'S SKETCH

Today's sketch is a sketch with a twist. The MMSC chose a baking theme this week. Each dt will be sharing some of their favorite recipes with their creations.

MY TAKE ON THE SKETCH:

I made this gift set for my daughter's Sunday School Teacher. The card has a pocket for the recipe. I left the paint can mostly clear so you can see my deformed gingerbread men. Yes I said deformed. After I was done, I realized this wasn't a running gingerbread man but rather the leg was bent. LOL! Guess this is a good lesson for teaching that you can't judge by outside appearances. LOL!

Hi Everyone!! I hope you are enjoying your weekend!! Boy is it ever chilly here!! It is less than 20 degrees and windy. It feels so cozy to be indoors and look out at the snow. Last night we went to get our tree. Today we get to decorate it!! I must admit that the snow does make everything look more Christmasy. After Christmas is over, I will be ready for it to be gone.

Well Anywho....Today is the Saturday Spotlight and we have another fun challenge for you.
For this week's challenge.....
The Spotlight Divas would like to challenge you to create something with the music in your soul! What do we mean? What is your favorite style of music? Is it country, rock, opera, Christmas music, or the oldies? Whatever your "music style", show us what it is on your creations! eg: Use a cowboy image for "country music", etc. Perhaps you can just create a "musical masterpiece"....just get creative with it! Can't wait to see what you come up with!

This week's Sponsor is....

Here is my creation for this challenge:
I love Christmas carols, singing and playing the piano. Currently my daughter, Nicki is taking piano lessons. I made this card and snow globe for her piano teacher. It is a joke among us that her piano teacher can not hold a tune as far as singing goes. She will just love this card! Teehee! The snowglobe records. Nicki played a Christmas song and recorded it on there.

The image is Belle's Carols from Belles in Whistles! Isn't it just darling!! I love it!
The papers are from DCWV Music Stack. The paper is full of glitter and embossing. The colors of the dp matched the old in color groovy guava. The image is colored in prisma color pencils and gamsol. The layout of my card is taken from Mercy's Sketch this week. Some of the elements added are difficult to see in the picture. Their are glittery silver snowflakes hanging on top of the lace. Their are three musical notes on the top of the card on the right side.

Card Recipe:
Stamps: Belle's n Whistles- Belle's Carols
Paper: DCWV Music Stack, Groovy Guave, Very Vanilla

This next creation I made for the Stampin Sisters in Christ Challenge. I so love what this challenge stands for that I had to make a quick card today. I have joined in every challenge so far and just had to do this one as well. I used the stamp Lili's Prayer from Inky Impressions!. The Paper is from Eskimo Kisses. The challenge was to
make a card to let someone know you are praying for them, using images of people (men, women and/or children...angels are okay, too!). I also used the Sketch Saturday layout.

Happy Hump Day Everyone!! I can't believe it is now Wednesday already again. Where does the time go. I sure wish time would slow down so I can get all the things done before Christmas that I need to. Yikes!

This a.m. I was woke up at 4:30 a.m. to a telephone call. I don't know about you but when I receive a call that early in the a.m. I panic, thinking that someone has been taken ill to the hospital or something. I remember well being called several times in the middle of the night when my mother in law was battling with cancer and had frequent seizures....Thankfully it was just the local schools calling to cancel school for the day due to the heavy snow, freezing rain and heavy winds. My girls are home schooled but we still we receive automated cards from the district. Usually I don't mind but 4:30 a.m. is a tad early for automated phone calls. A yucky day here for sure! I guess it will be a day confined to working on cards and homeschooling my girls and not venturing out. It indeed looks like a winter wonderland!!

Anywho...on to today's challenges and my card. Today it is time for a new challenge from Inky Impressions and Flutter By Wednesday. This week's challenge at Flutter by Wednesday is to create a card with a winter theme and an angel, fairy or butterfly. How appropriate is that for me with this wintry weather we are experiencing here!!! The challenge over at Inky Impressions is to create a card with snowflakes and an Inky Impressions stamp!! These two challenges integrate so well together that I just combine them together for one creation!

Here is what I came up with:
I used Fairy Lili from Inky Impressions and made her a Snow Fairy Lili! I made here have long sleeves and paper pieced her. I colored her with Prima color pencils and gamsol. I also incorporated the Featured Stamper Challenge from Splitcoast Stampers and cased this card from Michelle aka MitchyGlitchyGoomy. Congrats Michelle on being this weeks featured stamper!
I kept her colors and basic layout but changed the image used, dp, and added snowflakes through out the card not just in one corner. I also added pearls around the oval to frame Lili and added sewing. You can see the sewing if you click on the card to enlarge it. The sentiment says "Have a "Fairy" Merry Christmas".

I hope you can join us for the Flutter By Wednesday or Inky Impressions Challenge this week! For more inspiration for the Flutter By Wednesday Challenge, please visit my dt sisters:
