Good Morning and Happy Hump Day to all!! Today is my birthday and my girls have been planning how to make it special for days now.

Two days ago, Nicki, decided we needed to have pudding on my birthday at 7 a.m. in the morning. She failed to look at the chocolate pudding packs to see that one of the packages she grabbed was cook and serve and the other instant. They just couldn't figure out why it would not thicken up. Too cute...of course at the time when I saw the mess in my kitchen, I was not thrilled. They dumped out my entire cupboard to find these packs and I had mix everywhere. What a good feeling to be loved so much, though!

The girls have been up since six trying to make my day special. I think my birthday will not be about me but my two sweethearts instead. We plan to make an icecream cake together. Not good for my diet but we do have to splurge once in a while, right?

Today I have two challenges share with you which are perfect for my celebration. Infact, I think I will give my project to myself. LOL! The Inky Impressions Challenge is to make a gift (unless it is a gift card holder)and not a card and the Flutter By Wednesday challenge is to use a butterfly or fairy with Sapphire (September's Birthstone).

I can't wait to share my project with you but first let me give you the details for Flutter By Wednesday....Danni will have some blog candy for this last week of her Birthday celebration so make sure you pop by her blog and check it out!! She also has a guest this week, Anna! Her blog title is scrap and crap but it is far from crap!! You will be in for a real treat so stop on over and leave her some love!! We also want to welcome back Taylor and Kristie to the Team!! Woo hoo!! You were missed and we are so glad to have you back. Since this is the last week of the Birthday celebration at Flutter By we want to thank you all for making it such a fun time for us all!

Today's project is made using Flower Lili from Inky Impressions. She is just so sweet!! I colored her with Prisma color pencils and gamsol. The dp is from the Retired Urban Garden paper stack from SU. I decided to make a treatbox. This is my own design without a pattern so there is no one to blame if there are any flaws but me!!! LOL! The flowers I created using the MS Cosmo flower punch and Boho Blossoms punch from SU. I am sorry this photo looks so far away but the treat box is so big I had a hard time getting the whole thing in the picture.

The goodies inside are my absolute favorite!!!!!!!!Dark Lindt Chocolate!!!!YUMMY!! Now before my diet I would eat a handful of them no problem but well...now I may not eat even one although the temptation is there. Infact the temptation is so great that I just decided as I am typing this post that maybe today as a celebration for my birthday that I will make a small treat bag and fill it with these chocolate goodies!!! I will randomly choose a winner for anyone who comments on this post before midnight tonight!!!

I hope you have enjoyed today's post and that you are inspired to either create a gift using and Inky Impressions stamp for the Inky Impressions Challenge or use a fairy or butterfly with sapphire (it can just be embellished with sapphires). If you do join the FBW challenge please leave a DIRECT link on Danni's blog. If you upload your creations to SC or PCP, please use the keyword FBW.

For more inspiration for the FBW challenge please visit my dt sisters:

I hope you have enjoyed today's post!! I had hoped on posting this much earlier so I could put up my blog candy but there are just so many details that I am forgetting.

I hope to have my blog candy up within the next hour. I have been so blessed with health and happiness over the past year. I am also blessed to be surrounded by a loving husband and daughters, parents, siblings, friends (including you my blogging friends) . I decided as a way of saying thanks, I am putting up my first blog candy (not for a dt or for a hop just from plain old me.) I tried to include different things that people had commented on in previous posts as well as a lot of my faves. Hope to see you there. Kelley , owner of Our Daily Bread Designs generously donated one of my fave stamp sets for my birthday and Nicole , owner of Inky Impressions, also donated a cute Birthday stamp! Thanks girls!!!

Don't forget, one lucky person will win some Lindt chocolate on me for my birthday. I will announce my winner tomorrow on the Our Daily Bread Designs Blog hop!! You don't want to miss the hop either cause the dt has awesome cards and projects to show you using the new release and there are prizes too! Can't beat that!!!!!

Speaking of my girls, I better go check on them. Too quiet!! They have been plotting my day since 5:30 a.m. Scary!!!

Have a great day and thanks for stopping by!!!

I have added this to my post because I have been working on my blog candy post with little success. Every time I press post it says it has a Java script error. Looks like I will be starting over. Maybe it will be up by 12 p.m. I AM PRAYING!!!

NOW FOR OUR WEEK #21
SKETCH CHALLENGE

With Halloween coming up in October, I decided it would be fun to use one of my Penny Black images and create a Halloween Card!!!

I used Penny Black's Witchy Mouse and SU Haiku Paper. The web was created with some Halloween Trim I had left over from last year that I cut apart. I decided for this week to use a more CAS look. It still includes sewing although it is hard to see in the photo. The black panels are dry embossed with the Cuttlebug Swirls Folder.

For more inspiration, please visit my dt sisters. They have done an outstanding job with this week's sketch and there is a tremendous amount of variety too!!!

Happy Monday to you all!!! I hope you all had a great weekend!! I know I did! I had guests over the weekend. I was spoiled rotten. My parents came for a visit to celebrate my birthday early with me. They brought me lots of goodies including 2 bushels of apples to make applesauce and apple pie fillings with (I am going to be real busy!!!). They took me out for dinner.....

Over the weekend, I received my new sets for Our Daily Bread Designs so as soon as my guest left, I just had to get them inked up!!!! When I saw that Nancy Ruth was the featured stamper at SC, I just had to do this week's featured stamper challenge. Congrats Nancy Ruth on being this week's Featured Stamper!!! Your gallery is incredible and I have always admired your designs.

I cased this card . I changed the stamps, sentiment and added one extra panel to her layout but kept the basic layout (with the extra panel, this card meets Mercy's MTSC40 . I wanted to do up my card in pink like Nancy Ruth's but I just couldn't get it to look right with my cat tails and dragonfly so I had to change the color.

This card also incorporated Judy's LSC239- S.O.S.

S= Sponging
O= silver bauble shaped like and o and Our Daily Bread Designs
S= Sympathy or silver

I used two of my new sets from Our Daily Bread Designs that will be new release in October:
Praying for you and With Heartfelt Sympathy which met the Stampin Sisters in Christ challenge perfectly!! Their challenge was to create a Thinking of You or Praying for you card.

This picture for some reason turned out darker than on SC or in my files. If you click on the photo you will see the sewing and glitter much better!

Card Recipe:
Stamps: Our Daily Bread Designs Praying for You and With Heartfelt Sympathy
Paper: BG Marakech, Baja Breeze and white
Accessories: Silver Baubles, corner punch, prisma color pencils and gamsol, sponge, glitter for dragonfly, sewing machine, White ribbon, Swiss dots and swirls embossing folder

This week is going to be a very busy week for me. I am still gathering goodies for my birthday blog candy on Wednesday. I have lots of goodies to share!!!

Since it is nice and early, it is a great time to go blog hopping. I have missed you all!! Thanks so much for stopping by and for all your comments.
Friday, September 25, 2009
Happy Friday!! The weekend is upon us!!!! Today my company arrives and am I ready. No!! Still trying to clean up and bake before their arrival. I think I have neglected my house just a bit lately and just stamped instead. LOL! It is just so much more fun!!!

September is just loaded with Birthdays. I have been incredibly busy making cards. This week has been the week for just a few a CAS cards. Don't normally do to much of them since I just love details.

The card I am sharing with you today is using the Happy Birthday set and the Doodles 2-Thinking of You set from Our Daily Bread. The dp is the Basic Grey Wisteria paper. I incorporated Roxi's sketch SC247 from Splitcoast and Lynn's TLC239 to create your own layered buttons. Instead of sewing, I used paper piercing. I think I like the clean look. What do you think?

Stamps: Our Daily Bread Designs- Doodles 2 Thinking of You, Happy Birthday
Paper: BG Wisteria, Black and white
Accessories: Rhinestone flourish, circle punch for button, satin ribbon, metallic purple cording, rhinestone flourish, paper piercer

Thanks for stopping by today. Today I plan to finish up preparing for my company and then visit other blogs for inspiration (meaning visit You!!!) rather than create. Have a great weekend!!
Thursday, September 24, 2009
Hi All!! Boy I almost said Happy Friday...not there yet. I have so much going on as of late I can't keep track of anything! Although I remembered that the 26th was my brother in laws birthday, I totally was clueless that the 26th was Saturday!!! Yikes!!! I didn't have any maculine cards on hand and even checked the stores for a card to buy and didn't see any I liked. So....I created a real quickie last night to put in the mail today!!!

I used the Memory Box Autumn Splendor leaves and the sentiment from Our Daily Bread Designs Happy Birthday set. I used yesterday's sketch SC247. The dp is from Recollections Autumn Collection. The leaves on the bottom were cut out using a MS leaf border punch that is pretty new on the market.

I really don't enjoy making masculine cards as much. Guess I just love adding frills!

I am so sorry for the super short post but I have company coming for the weekend (my house has been very neglected and I have a lot to catch up on!!), a charity auction I am making crafts for that needs to be completed by tomorrow, and I have so many places to go today.

I hope you all have a fabulous day! Thanks for stopping by!!
Wednesday, September 23, 2009

Happy Hump Day!!! Today is Flutter By Wednesday!!! The team has another fun challenge for you!!! Today's challenge is to use a fairy or a butterfly with flowers!!! So get out those primas or whatever flowers you have in stock and start creating your fairy or butterfly project!!

Today's guest is Kim! Her creations are just delightful!! You won't want to miss visiting her today!! Danni will also be having more give aways to those who participate in the challenge as part of her month long Birthday Bash!!!!

For my card today I decided to combine the Flutterby Wednesday creation with the
Saturday Sketchers #69 challenge , Penny Black Saturday Challenge (to use pearls and lace) and the OCC Challenge (to use Pink Brown and white). I used " Gifts for You" from Penny Black. I just think the mice at Penny Black are just the cutest ever. Don't you? I colored her in with prisma color pencils and gamsol. The dp is from Basic Grey's Bittersweet line.

I hope you enjoyed today's creation. It is unique in that there is none of my stitching on it. I think even so it turned out cute. Variety is the spice of life, right?!

Speaking of variety, you really need to check out all the diverse and awesome creations by the Flutter by Team. You will be so glad you did.

Today is also Christine's Birthday!! Happy Birthday Christine!! Hope you have a wonderful day!! She even has awesome birthday blog candy up.

Speaking of Blog candy. ...My dt sister and friend, Heather also is celebrating her one year blogoversary. Click on over to have a chance to win!!

I hope this post has inspired you to create and maybe create a card or project using a butterfly or fairy and flowers
. If you do create a project or card for this challenge, please link to Mr. Linky on Danni's blog. If you upload your creation to SC or PCP, please use the keyword FBW.

Thanks so much for stopping by today!! If you do stop by, please leave me a comment so I can in turn go and visit your blog as well. Thanks so much for your wonderful comments, I so enjoy reading them!!

blessings,
Chris

Midnight Madness Week #20 (MMSC20)

Hope you're happy and healthy today and thank you so much for stopping in for a visit today. I want to begin my post by bidding my dt sister and friend, Jessica a goodbye from the Midnight Madness Team. After much deliberation and thought she has decided to leave the team. Although we are saddened with her departure, Jessica has been pursuing her talent with her graphic arts and has been working on designing her own line of rubber stamps. With her upcoming wedding and being a young mother with many demands, she has only so much time in her day. We wish her many successes as she explores other avenues of her creativity. Of course goodbye from the team does not mean goodbye. We will still have the opportunity to visit her blog and see all the amazing stamps she is creating. Congrats on you upcoming wedding Jess and with your new line of stamps!!

You have till Midnight EST 9-22-09 to get your MMSC19 entries in. Our weekly winner will be drawn on Wednesday, so be sure to check back for that. If you miss the deadline, you are still welcome to link up to Mr Linky, but any entries after the "LAST CALL" will not be in the drawing.

We are so lucky to have
"Michelle's Scrapbooking"
as our Weekly Bonus Sponsor

Michelle is offering our MMSC20 Bonus winner the two stamps shown below from the Pixie Cottage line and a 10.00 off coupon code for her store. Thank you Michelle for your wonderful prize this week.

NOW FOR OUR WEEK #20
SKETCH CHALLENGE

Since DRS Designs was our sponsor this month and generously sent several free stamps to use for this month's post, most of the designs done by the dt are using their designs.

For my card, I got a little carried away with their adorable Scarecrow with Fence image. I just thought it would be neat to use some real material for the scarecrow and add raffia to my image. The paper is from the Recollections Autumn Pack available at Michaels. The leaves that are punched out on the sides use the new Martha Stewart Leaf punch border. The bigger leaves are from Prima and they have been in my stash forever!!!!!

WHAT DO YOU THINK?

********************************************

And now on to my project using the Angel set from Our Daily Bread Designs. Last week I shared the card with you and told you that I had a project to coordinate which would be posted on the Our Daily Bread Blog. Well...I thought I would share it here as well.

Since so many people have begun their Christmas cards and projects, I thought it would be nice for me to share a card and project using one of my favorite stamp sets from Our Daily Bread Designs Christmas line: Angel. The card I recently made for the Stampin Sisters in Christ Sketch Challenge. After creating the card, I thought it would be nice to make a coordinating project to go with it for a gift during the Christmas holidays. I have always loved to make projects but never had the opportunity to make a project using a paint can . I just love tins and have seen so many awesome projects using these cans. At Christmas time there are just so many small gifts that you give out to teachers, Sunday School teachers, friends, neighbors, and etc. These little painting cans are perfect for putting in little go odies like cookies or candy, etc.

I covered the can with SU Ski Slope paper and then embellished it with ric rac, ribbon, punched snowflakes and my angel image which I colored with watercolors and prisma color pencils and gamsol. The wings are glittered with stickles. The ribbons tied on the handle are a bunch or ribbon scraps that I have saved.

Happy Monday All!! I hope you all had a fabulous weekend!! I sure did. I did everything but stamping but sometimes it is nice to take a break and just spend time with the family and do other things. My hubby and I spent Saturday creating wood projects and doing some tole painting for a charity auction to be held locally next week. It was fun to do something that would help others as well as have quality time together.

Today I am on the bandwagon trying to create, create, create.... The card I am sharing with you today uses today's TLC239 Layered Buttons, Mojo 105 Sketch, and the Stampin Sisters in Christ challenge to use fall colors on your creation. The stamps used were Angelica's Daydreams, Shy Little Nickie (bench only) and Fall Whimsy (retired from SU).

It was fun creating a fall scene and creating these buttons. I don't know why I never thought to make these earlier. They are very easy peasy and can create the perfect coordinating embellishment. All you need is card stock, a circle punch (to match the size button you want to create), waterproof glue that doesn't bubble the cardstock, and crystal effects or some other medium to give it a glossy appearance. I decided to sand the edges of my buttons to make it one layer but not to add gloss to my buttons to create a distressed look.

The image is colored with prisma color pencils and gamsol. The dp is from MME 29th Market Street. I have been hoarding this paper and just had to use it for this fall creation.

Card Recipe:
Stamps: Inky Impressions- Angelica's Daydreams, Shy Little Nicki (bench only), and SU Retired Fall Whimsy for pumpkin and leaves on the bottom panel
Paper: My Minds Eye 29th Market Street, So Saffron, Bitter Chocolate
Accessories: Brown lace trim, EK Success Moraccan Lace Punch, Spellbinders Scalloped rectangles, Circle punch, Cuttlebug Textile Embossing Folder

Happy Friday All!! Are you ready for the weekend? I sure am!! It is suppose to be beautiful weather wise. Woohoo!! No rain!!!!

Today I would like to share a card I made for the upcoming Christmas Holidays. I have seen so many cards with a Christmas theme and I have barely started so today I said I might as well join the masses. I created this card using the Stampin Sister's in Christ Sketch challenge for this week. I just love the simple layout. I added a couple of things to it but I think you can pretty much see I followed the sketch. I used one of my favorite Christmas sets from Our Daily Bread Designs, Angel.

I watercolored the edges of the dress with Baja Breeze on regular white cardstock. The hair, hands, and face were colored with prisma color pencils and gamsol. (Boy do I ever know that I used gamsol. It has an odor and my daughter accidentally knocked the entire thing over. What a mess and stench!!! Oh well accidents happen right. I hope my hubby understands when he walks in the kitchen and smells the odor.)

O.k. .... I was looking at the sketch after I uploaded it and I noticed I made a mistake. I put the bow on the top rather than in the middle. Oops!

Card Recipe:
Stamps- Our Daily Bread Designs- Angel
Paper: SU Ski Slope, Glitter paper (white), Metallic silver, Baja Breeze
Accessories: Silver Baubles, sewing machine, glitter, Vintage Corner Die from Cuttlebug

This is a part of a set that I will be posting on the Our Daily Bread Designs Blog on Tuesday. I will provide you with a link on Tuesday as a reminder.

Tomorrow is the last day of the Inky Impressions Blog Hop and the last day for the Blog Hop candy here. If you have not left a comment, on the post or gone on the hop (there is some great prizes along the way), you may want to do so now. Just click on the highlighted "post or gone on the hop" and it will take you there.

I do not think I will be posting tomorrow as I plan to spend whatever time I have blog hopping and visiting your sites instead. Just not enough time to craft, blog and blog hop with life mixed in.

Have a super weekend!! Thanks as always for stopping by and leaving such encouraging comments.

Good Morning!!! Today is time for the Divine Diva Challenge. Lori sent us a picture of a wedding cake for our inspiration this week. I really had a good time with this one.

My girls think I am officially nuts since I planned out my own wedding, making a place setting, favors and a wedding thank card using the colors, flowers, and patterns that inspired me from the cake photo. Here is what I came up with.

I used the SU True Friend for my stamps. The paper is Pink Pirouette, Chocolate Chip and Sweet Always. The card uses yesterday's SC246 sketch on SC.

Thanks for stopping by. I hope this inspires you to create and maybe even use this wedding cake as your inspiration. If you do this challenge, please upload your creation to the comments on Lori's blog. For more inspiration from the other diva's click on the links below.

Angela - this is unfortunately Angela's last challenge with us. A big thank-you from me for being such a wonderful DT member!

Good Morning!! Happy Hump day to you. I am so sorry if I did not get around to comment on your blogs yesterday. My computer or internet service was having some difficulties and after a while I just gave up. I sure hope to make it around today!!

Today's post is combination of two challenge posts: Inky Impressions and Flutter By Wednesday!

Since September is Nicole's (Inky's Mama) Birthday Month, Inky Impressions is celebrating HER all month long. This weeks challenge is to add REAL or FAUX stitching to your card or project using an Inky Impressions stamp. OOO Nicole really loves a card with stitching. So come on and join the fun. We would love to see what you create. If you do join us please link your creation here.

September is also Danni's birthday and the Flutter By Team is also celebrating her with many fun challenges . Danni is offering blog candy every week in September!!! Today the FBW guest designers are her kids, Matthew and Annabelle. Isn't that so sweet. What better guest designers to choose for Danni's birthday than her own kids!! You can see their creations on Danni's blog.

The Flutter By Wednesday challenge this week is to add sparkle to your creation with a butterfly or fairy. Should you create a creation using this challenge, please upload it to Mr. Linky here under FBW75. If you should upload your creation to SC or PCP, Please use the keyword FBW.

Here is my creation using stitching and an Inky Impressions stamp and sparkle and a butterfly. I used the new release SpunkyScooter Lili which is now available in the Inky Impressions store. I colored her with prisma color pencils and gamsol. The dp is from MME Bloom and Grow and K&Co. Glitter Paper. I did add glitter to the image, however it does not show up well in the picture.
