Good Morning!! I hope you have been having a good weekend!! I decided to post one more post before my return tomorrow night. I had so much fun making this card for the sketch challenge (SC242) at Splitcoast. I think it was one of my favorite sketches!

I used the SU Upsy Daisy set and the Parisian Breeze dp along with baja breeze dp. I just love the colors and color combo of this. Of course, I had to add butterflies with my SU Sizzix butterfly die! I started off thinking CAS and I ended adding layer after layer and sewing. I love stitching on cards. Bet you can't tell. LOL I dry embossed the background with the Cuttlebug Leafy branches and swiss dots.

Thanks for stopping by today!! I hope you enjoy the last of your weekend!
I will be back tomorrow and sure ready to do some blog blurfing for inspiration!!

Chris

Good Morning!!! By the time you read this post, I will be away on my vacation, camping. The family is so excited to go camping for the last time this summer. We will go again in the Fall, but it isn't the same. There won't be swimming then and it will be much cooler.

With Fall in mind, I created this card.I made this card using our Daily Bread Designs Happy Birthday set and today's FS133 challenge. I just love Joanne's gallery and this card really popped out at me ( http://www.splitcoaststampers.com/gallery/photo/1440432 ).

I am not usually an orange person but since hers looked so good, I went out on a limb and tried similar colors. When I was putting it together, I flipped one of the panels which changed the layout. Too late to change after using permanent adhesive. I also changed the image, sentiment, brads, and added sewing and ribbon.

Stamps: Our Daily Bread Designs- Happy Birthday
Paper: Hauku, Tangerine Tango, Black, White
Accessories: Memory Box brads, Tango ribbon, MS Butterfly punch, glitter, paper piercer, sewing machine, scalloped border punch for corners

Thanks for stopping by! Please leave a comment so I can return the favor and visit your blog when I get back from vacation.

Blessings,
Chris

Good Morning!! I hope you are all doing well. Today is the day I leave to go camping. Before going, I have the privelege of going to meet a friend for brunch two hours from here. I would have rather not have done it today and waited until a day I had more time but she starts teaching again next week. Boohoo! There is such a distance between us, that it is hard to get together as often as we would like. I am so excited to go see her today!!! She is such a special friend and I have missed her so!

I did manage to get most of the camper packed. Scott, my dear husband, told me not to worry about getting done on time. It is a vacation he says. LOL why didn't I think of that. No, I did know that but didn't want to let the kids or him down if they wanted to leave at a decent time.
The forecast isn't looking so good. Rain again! I am praying real hard that they are wrong. This summer, however, the forecasts with rain were never wrong. I feel like we live in the rainforest sometimes. Just kidding!

Well today I wanted to share a card I made with one of the sweet Sarah Kay images: Fanny's Cuddle. I love her illustrations and I can't get enough of these stamps.

I made this card for a friend of mine's niece. Hope she liked it. Her favorite color is pink. The paper is from Basic grey and Walk in the Park (SU). Love the combo together. I used an old MMSC sketch. Loved this sketch!! Some people have been asking about the punch I have been using for some of my borders. This is Moracco Lace from EK Success. I bought it at Michaels.

Well I better get going! Hope you all have a fab day. I plan to schedule a few posts for while I am away so I may be gone from my home but not my blog.

blessings,
Chris

Happy Hump Day all!! Today the sun is shining and it looks like it will be a beautiful day. That is good because maybe it will keep me motivated to keep going and get some things done. A very busy agenda for me today! Tomorrow I leave to go camping with the family. I am not near ready. Still have to finish pack the trailer, tie up loose ends for dt's and posts here, homeschool my girls, shop for food for the trip, and the list goes on and on. Atleast it is for a good reason and I am happy to do it.

Anywho..... on to today's Flutter By Challenge. This week's challenge was hosted by my dt sister Kim. She challenges us to use a quote on our card (a favorite if possible). Don't forget it has to include a butterfly or fairy!!!! I decided to combine this challenge with my Sweet N Sassy Blog Hop post which was to include scripture. Scripture is a quote from the Bible, right? I just love this verse so I used it. What a verse of promise and hope!

Card Recipe:
Stamps: Sweet N Sassy In His Time and His Eye is on the Sparrow
Paper: To The Nines, Sage Shadow, Chocolate Chip
Challenge used: SC242 from Splitcoast
Accessories: Moracco Lace (EK Success), MS Butterfly punch, Swiss Dots and leaves embossing folder, pearls, Label 4 and oval nesties, sewing machine and brown thread

For more inspiration for today's Flutterby challenge, you really have to visit my dt sister's blogs:

Should you decide to create a card or creation for this challenge, please leave a direct link here on Mr. Linky. If you upload your creation to PCP or SC, please use the keyword FBW, so we can see your creations. Don't forget the challenge includes using a quote and a butterfly or fairy.

Thanks for stopping by today. Please note this is the second post for today. If you are interested in viewing a creation using Inky Impressions stamps and their weekly challenge, please scroll down to the next post.

Have a great day!!

Good Morning!!! Today is Wednesday and it is time for another Inky Impressions Challenge!! I just love these adorable images. This week Tonya created a sketch!! How Fun!! She challenged us (and you) to create a card with her sketch using an Inky Impressions Stamp.

Here is the sketch:

[sketchgif.gif]

This is my take on the sketch. I used the Lili's Prayer stamp from Inky Impressions. I just love this paper. I just bought the K&Co. Classics boxed set and this is some of the exquisite paper in it! I just love this red and brown with the gold. I colored my image with Prisma color pencils and gamsol. I cut out the image and popped it up on dimensionals. Rather than add extra layers around the Label 4 cut piece, I brushed the edges with gold to separate it from the background paper. The flower is hand crocheted and layered with some Primas (also from Michael's).

CARD RECIPE:
Stamps: Inky Impressions- Lili's prayer
Paper: K&Co., Glossy Gold Metallic
Accessories: Oval punch, Rennaissance Border from Spellbinders, Ivory lace from Wright, primas, hand crocheted flower, pearls, Spellbinders Oval and Label 4

Thanks for stopping by. I will be back very shortly with today's Flutter by Challenge featuring stamps from Sweet N Sassy.

Have a great day!!

Happy Tuesday morning!!! I hope everyone had a great weekend! I know our family did although we received a lot of not so good news.

A very close friend of ours worked nights at the hospital on Saturday night, on his way home (one mile from his home) he fell asleep. He went off the road and hit a tree. As a result, from the impact, he shattered the vertebrate in his back. Thank God he is not paralyzed and can move his arms and legs. What a blessing! He did have to go through 6 hours of surgery to put a rod in his back and is in a great deal of pain.My heart and thoughts are with Marcus and Florence (and their to little girls) right now.It really makes you thankful for good health that so many of us take for granted. My brother in law also lost his job. During these tough economic times my heart goes out to my sister and the family. What news for them to get the day before leaving on vacation!!! They had it scheduled months ago. I am so glad they did go and I hope they have a great time!

WEEK #16 SKETCH (MMSC16)

My take on the sketch:

While many of the dt used Michelle's gorgeous digitals, I decided to use on of my Sweet n Sassy images to add to the variety of the dt examples. This is my very first Christmas card. I love this poinsettia wreath!! I knew I wanted to use it but I must admit I struggled with this card trying to make the sketch. Did you ever have a card that just doesn't feel quite right to you? Well this one is it for me. It is not one of my faves. I am still loving this Christmas Poinsettia set from Sweet N Sassy. It is so much fun to color! I watercolored mine. The dp is from SU retired holiday line from last year. It is such gorgeous paper! I added some K&Co. glitter to the borders for some added sparkle. While it is hard to see in this picture, I did add little Hero Arts Pearls to the wreath.

Card Recipe:
Stamps: Sweet n Sassy Christmas Poinsettia
Paper: SU Holiday Treasures, K&Co Green Glitter Paper, Bazzill Bitter Chocolate
Accessories: EK Success Moracco Lace, Spellbinders, Prima Dandies, brown grosgrain ribbon, rhinestone flourishes, Hero arts pearls

Thanks for stopping by today! I hope this inspires you to create and maybe even create using this sketch. Should you create a card or project with this sketch, please leave a direct to Mr. Linky here. If you upload your creation to SC please use the keyword MMSC16.

Happy Sunday!!! I hope you are all enjoying your morning. Today I have a post to share with you which is a real honor. Just last Sunday a new challenge begin which is a Bible verse challenge called Stampin Sisters in Christ.

As a design team member of Our Daily Bread Designs, I was so excited to be asked to be the first guest designer on the week when Our Daily Bread Designs is the sponsor! It is an honor to share my love for crafting and Jesus for this challenge! Thanks for this awesome opportunity girls. I am so honored. Last week Lisa inspired us with this verse:

Then Jesus declared, "I am the bread of life. He who comes to me will never go
hungry, and he who believes in me will never be thirsty." John 6:35 (NIV)

In keeping with this verse, the design team challenged its readers to create a card or project with a food theme. It did not need to be religious but you are free to do so. The verse in the Fruit of the Spirit stamp set from Our Daily Bread Designs coordinated so well with this week's inspirational verse that I knew I had to use it. God's promise is to always provided for our needs. "Taste and see that the Lord is good. Psalm 3:4" I colored the image with prisma color pencils and gamsol. I then used Paper Tole to give it dimension. Gold glitter was added for some extra sparkle. The verse is embossed in gold. To give some added elegance, I used Gold Glossy Cardstock on the borders and gold metallic thread for the sewing. The border on the bottom is created with the Spellbinders Renaissance Border.

Card Recipe:

Stamps: Fruit of the Spirit from Our Daily Bread Designs

Paper: Purple DP (scrap from I think DCWV), Glossy Gold Paper, Purple CS, Vanilla

Accessories: Rennaissance Hearts border from Spellbinders, Spellbinders, Circles, Prisma color pencils and gamsol, Hero Arts Pearls, metallic gold thread and sewing machine, Swiss Dots folder

_______________________________________________________ I hope you have a chance to join in this challenge!!! Since they have had such an awesome response in the first week, they have decided to do this challenge weekly rather than bi- weekly. Woohoo! What fun!! Lisa, Lorie, Kristine, and Kathy have done a fabulous job getting this started.

You really want to join this week's challenge for the chance to win. Our Daily Bread Designs is offering this awesome Happy Birthday set as the challenge prize this week!!!!!!
Since my hyperlink does not want to work, here is the link to Our Daily Bread Designs if you want to check any more of their stampsets ( http://ourdailybreaddesigns.com ).

I was going to say good morning but now I see it is past noon!!! Where does the time go?!!! I had such an awesome morning!! Not only did I create a card using one of my fave sets from Our Daily Bread Designs, I got to meet my great friend and dt sister Grace (Th-ink-ing of You) for a coffee at Dunkin Donuts!! It was so fun to just sit down and chat with her for an hour!!!!! rather than chatting through cyberspace! She is just as sweet as I knew she would be and we had an awesome time together!! She is out from NC visiting her father in law this weekend in NY which gave us the opportunity to meet up!! What a blessing it was!! Thanks Grace for making time to get together. I so enjoyed spending time with your husband and daughter as well!!

Well...I was saying I had made a card for today's IC194. I used these two photos from the Pylones site as my inspiration: Pink flowers and Butterflies. I used the Happy Birthday set from Our Daily Bread Designs. I loved all the pink in the inspiration so I chose to use Rasberry Tart paper from SU and the Regal Rose CS. All the borders around the circle, butterflies and the verse are from the same stamp set. It is just so versatile and you can do so much with it! I added the hatpin, sewing, and corners to give it some elegance.

Card Recipe:
Stamps: Our Daily Bread Designs- Happy Birthday
Paper: Rasberry Tart Paper, Regal Rose, Kiwi Kiss, White CS
Accessories: Spellbinders Label 3, Spellbinders Circles, Vintage Corner die from Cuttlebug, Regal Rose Ribbon, Swiss Dots and Leaves Embossing Folder, EK Success Moracco Lace Punch,
Hero Arts Pearls, hatpin, pearl and pink crystal beads.

Thanks for stopping by today!! I hope you have an awesome weekend!!! I can't wait to be inspired by your creations!

blessings,
Chris

Happy Friday! The weekend is upon us!! Woo hoo! Not that I have much planned but I have been running to Bible School every day with my girls and tomorrow I am home!!! Maybe tomorrow I can get something accomplished at home. The girls are having fun going so I don't mind it but going has really shot my day.

Today is not a challenge day for me so I have the opportunity to share whatever I choose. The challenges days are nice but it is also nice to have free days to do what you would like. Today I would like to share I card that I made for this week's featured stamper challenge (FS132- casing Stamp Muse) on SC. I am usually not an all white person but it really does look elegant with all the texture and shapes, I think. Here is the card I cased from Emily's gallery.

I kept the white and some of the layout with the butterfly but changed the dry embossing on the image panel to holographic embossing on the Upsy Daisy Image and framed it with the Fleur De Lis Pendant. The back panel is embossed with the Leaves embossing folder. Instead of placing the butterfly on the image panel I put it to the side so the daisies were showing. I used brass wire to create my antennaes.

Stamps: Upsy Daisy
Paper: White
Accessories: leaves embossing folder, Textile embossing folder, Square and Fleur de lis Spellbinders, Moracco Lace Punch, MS pearls, hero arts pearls, SU Sizzix butterfly, sheer white ribbon

Can you believe I didn't even sew this one?! I thought the texture was elegant in and of itself.
What do you think?

Thanks for stopping by today!!! I hope you have a wonderful day and weekend.

blessings and smiles,
Chris

Good Morning!!! I hope your week is going well. Today is the Divine Diva Inspiration Challenge. Lori sent us this picture of bedding for our inspiration.

The photo really made me think of fall, hence the leaves and the browns and golds on my card. I used one of the Mojo 100 Anniversary sketches. The leaves are from the God's Beauty hostess set. I embossed the leaves in gold. I had hope to use some different leaves but I just have toooooooooo many stamps and I could not find it. I spent hours looking! I know, that when I am not looking for it, I will find it.

Card Recipe:
Stamps: God's Beauty
Paper: SEI, SU Thoroughly Modern, Chocolate Chip
Accessories: Pearls, Ribbon Bowtizue Ribbon, Textile Embossing folder, Top Note Die

The Divine Diva has lots of inspiration for you this week. I am so excited to be welcoming our newest team member Anne Harmon (aka jdmommy) of Inking in Red. Anne is such a sweetheart and has so many awesome creations. Her blog is a real treat and I always enjoy visiting her. Welcome Anne!!!! Happy Tuesday All! I am sorry about my being absent yesterday. I try to keep my blog updated daily, atleast during the week, but yesterday was a very busy and hectic day and my husband and I received some bad news about something. After that my heart was not into stamping or blogging. I will try to do better today.

Yesterday, Priscilla experienced her first problem with blogging. Our Midnight Madness logo badge was having some issues. It was a photobucket and wordblog problem. As much as she love the blinkies, she was getting addicted to them LOL. She will be taking a break from blinkies for awhile due to technical problems. We would really appreciate it, if you would all replace your Midnight Madness blinkies with this badge and just link it back to the Midnight Madness blog http://priscillastyles.blogspot.com/

You have till Midnight EST (8-18-09) to get your MMSC14 in for last weeks sketch. One winner will be drawn for our weekly BONUS GIFT give away from “McMahon Five Designs” on Wednesday. We will now be leaving Mr. Linky open for anyone who would like to enter their projects after the fact. We will have a “LAST CALL” posted to Mr. Linky at Midnight EST and any entries after that will not be eligible for our weekly or monthly drawings, so be sure to get your card added to Mr. Linky in plenty of time. If you miss the deadline please share your link with us, as we would still love to see your projects.
Thank you for stopping by and visiting the Midnight Madness blog…Now lets get to the fun!!!

Midnight Madness Week #15 (MMSC15)

Here is my take on today's sketch. I used the Light of the World set from Sweet N Sassy Stamps. I watercolored it. Since most of the dt was going to make masculine images with this weeks sponsor, I wanted to add a little variety by using a somewhat masculine image but with a different theme. The paper is from SU To the Nines. While it is hard to see the dimension, the image is papertoled. The edges are distressed and hemp was added.

Stamps: Sweet N Sassy: Light of the World
Paper: Water Color, Bitter Chocolate, Sage Shadow, To the Nines
Tools: Rectangle and Label 4 Spellbinders, Sewing Machine, Aqua Brush, Stampin Up Markers
Embellishments: hemp, jumbo bronze brads, one rhinestone

Thanks for stopping by and looking at my take of the sketch. I hope this inspires to create!! For more inspiration, please visit my dt sisters:

Good Morning!! Happy Sunday!! I hope you are all having a fabulous weekend!! Today I wanted to leave you with a brief post before church and going away for the day. My dear husband and I needed a change of pace so we are leaving for the day.

The card I am sharing with you today is for the Verve Anniversary Sketches. I also incorporated Jackies challenge to include sewing on a card. This is my third one AVS203!!! Woohoo! Two to go!! On SC, they challenged their readers in Limited Supplies Forum to create a card with a summer theme. Since I like to garden during the summer and watch the hummingbirds and butterflies, I decided butterflies and flowers would be perfect for my creation. I used the set -In His Time from Sweet n Sassy Stamps I just love this butterfly!! The colors and some of the design were inspired by this photo from yesterday's IC193. The dp is Basic Grey Bittersweet. Since I wanted to add some texture but I didn't want to make the sentiment unlegible, I embossed the panel using the negative side of the Textile embossing folder.

Card Recipe:
STamps: Sweet N Sassy Stamps- In His Time
Paper: Bittersweet DP from Basic Grey
Accessories: Morocca Lace punch from EK Success, pink ribbon, pearls, Rectangle nestabilities, sewing machine, vintage corner die, Juicy Prima Dandie, Textile embossing folder

Today is the beginning of a new challenge which sounds like so much fun!! It is located at the new site Stampin' Sisters in Christ. It is an Inspirational Scripture challenge! This challenge wil biweekly (the first, third, and fifth Sunday of the month). Click on over and check it out!

Thanks so much for stopping by!! I hope you enjoy the rest of your weekend!! If you do stop by, please leave a comment so I know you were here and can return the favor.

Blessings,
Chris

Happy Friday!! Can't believe the weekend is here!!! Time just flies by so fast but I do know that my husband can't wait for the weekend to come. He was in a very good mood this morning knowing that this was his last day of work for the week. Things have been rather hectic and challenging at work for him lately. Knowing that, I also realize I better get my crafting and stamping done today because he is going to want to do something or spend time together (stamping won't be on his agenda LOL!)

Well I began early this a.m. and I was so excited to have finished today's Limited Supply Challenge (Summer is on its way out- so use a summer activity as your theme). This stamp just cried out to me. We have not had much of a summer here but each year we usually go to the ocean (which we were unable to do this summer). Using the Summer By the Sea stamp gave me a chance to reminisce on past trips to the ocean. It is such a cute image.

I used the AVS202 (Verve's second Anniversary sketch) incorporating Jackie's challenge to include sewing, Flutter By Wednesday (to include a butterfly or fairy), the Thoroughly Modern Dp, Retired SU Summer by the Sea and the Our Daily bread Designs -Birthday (butterfly stamp) for this card. I am just loving the new in color Bermuda Bay!! I water colored my image and added stickles for some sparkle. The butterflies are from the Our Daily bread Designs Happy Birthday set. I so love their versatility of these butterflies to be added as an accent on a creation. I made two of them to be dimensionalized.

Stamps: SU Summer By the Sea, Our Daily Bread Designs: Happy Birthday (Butterflies)
Paper: SU Thoroughly Modern, Bitter Chocolate, White, Watercolor paper
Tools: Circle and oval Spellbinders, Cropodile, sewing machine, SU Markers, Chalks for the background
Embellishments: Jumbo bronze brads, Sheer Brown Ribbon, Stickles

Now I have 3 more of the Verve sketches to go!! Yee ha!! What fun!!

Thanks for stopping by!! I hope you have a wonderful day and weekend!!

Happy Thursday to you all!! I was hoping to get this posted earlier but I had my daughter's piano lessons first thing. Trying to get the girls up, fed and to piano lessons at 8 a.m. is a real challenge. Well we are back and ready to start our day!

The card I am sharing with you today is one of my absolute favorites from Our Daily Bread Designs called Happy Birthday. This time I tried to use fewer Layers and give it a cleaner look. Amazingly, no sewing either. I used the color challenge from last week CC230 (cameo coral, blush blossom, certainly celery, and close to cocoa). The image is watercolored.

For more inspiration on the two new sets released this month from Our Daily Bread Designs, you really should take a peek at these awesome creations by my dt sisters, Sandee, Betty, and Deb!!!! They are Phenominal!!!! Deb even has a link to a tutorial on how she colored her image with copics on her blog! Believe me when I say there is some real eye candy for you there!!!

Card Recipe:

Happy Hump Day to you all! Today is both the Inky Impressions Challenge and Flutter By Wednesday Challenge. Since Flutter By Wednesday was an open challenge this week just requiring you to use a butterfly or fairy on your card, I thought it would be fun to combine the two. I am so excited to share my first creation with you as an Inspirational Inkette!! and include butterflies too!!!

Today's challenge at Inky Impressions is to create a tag card or use a tag on your card. EVERYONE can play along this week and be entered to win a $10 Gift Card to Inky Impressions Rubber Stamps!! since Nicole is generously offering a FREE DIGISTAMP for you to print out and color and use on your "TAG" card! Then you'll need to use Mr. Linky on the challenge blog to link your card. You won't want to miss this darling card or the opportunity to participate in this challenge. Can't wait to see your creations!!!!

I used this week's Mojo Monday sketch since is seemed perfect for adding a tag.! I used the Lili's Chicks stamp but instead of adding the chicks, I decided to have Lili pointing to the sentiment: "Your Special". I was excited to be able to use my brand new ribbon and paper from SU (Thoroughly Modern) and some yummy paper that I bought while in Lancaster this summer (My Mind's Eye Penny Lane-Tiny Dancer Chasse Graceful Circles Paper). I colored my image in with prisma color pencils and gamsol.

Card Recipe:
Stamps: Inky Impressions- Lili's Chicks
Paper: SU - Thoroughly Modern, MME Penny Lane
Tools: Spellbinders- Octagons, MS Butterfly punch, Swiss Dots Embossing folder, sewing machine, SU Tab punch
Embellishments: Hodgepodge hardware, Bermuda Bay Ribbon, pearls, craft hemp

Here is the sketch that was designed by Sue. Many of the dt are featuring digis or products from Sue on their cards this week.

THIS WEEKS SKETCH

I used Sue's clematis image which is available in her store. I decided to make the image the focal point using a bright pink and black to make it pop. I had a hard time getting a good picture that would show the texture on the black. It is dry embossed with the textile embossing folder although it is not noticeable in this picture. The image was colored with prisma color pencils and gamsol and embossed several times for a shiny look. They were cut out and layered on dimensionals. I sewed the edges of the card in a silver metallic thread.

Card Recipe:
Digi- Clematis- from McMahon Five Design
Paper: Black, white, Magenta CS
Tools: Spellbinders Rennaissance Hearts border, Textile and Swiss Dots Embossing Folder, Mega curved rectangles Spellbinders Die
Embellishments: pink rhinestones, sheer white ribbon, black velvet ribbo, hodgepodge hardware

I hope this inspires you to create and maybe even create using one of Sue's Digis or this sketch. If you do use this sketch, please post your direct link to Mr. Linky here. If you upload your creation to SCS, please use the keyword MMSC14. For more inspiration using this sketch or the digi's available at Sue's store, please visit my dt sisters:
Thanks so much for stopping by today. I did start to visit blogs yesterday but then had severe thunderstorms with hail and horrid wind so I shut down my computer. It was a horrific storm and I didn't want to lose my computer again. Thankfully I am feeling much better today, so I do look forward to seeing your awesome creations.

Chris
Happy Tuesday everyone! I can't believe another week has flown by and it is time for another Midnight Madness Sketch. The summer is becoming just a blur. I can't believe how fast it has gone. We haven't even had too many real summer days weather wise to speak of.

There is a lot of info. for the MMSC this week so please feel free to scroll down to today's card if you are not interested in reading about the prizes and awards etc. I debated on how to make it a shorter post and even break it down into two different posts. After much thought, I decided to leave it as one post and highlight or categorize the blog entry. That way if someone is interested in the info., it is here.

We have some really fun stuff going on this week, so first things first! You have till Midnight EST tonight (8-11-09) to get your MMSC13 in for last weeks sketch. If you miss the deadline please share your link with us, as we would still love to see your projects.

Happy Monday to all! It is the beginning of another week. Boy do I have a lot I would like to accomplish. Unfortunately I am not feeling well so I am not to sure what I will be able to do today. I did manage to get one card done for you at least today.

The card I am sharing today is one of my favorite sets from Sweet -n Sassy. It is called Birthday Buddies. I love the little critters in this set and I can guarantee I will be sharing more of this set with you in the future. They are the cutest and so fun to color!!!

I used the Sweet -n Sassy's Sweet Stop Sketch #16 for the layout.

I don't often make long and narrow cards so this was a neat change for me. Since I colored the skunk in skunk colors (black and white with pink cheeks and cake), I decided to use those colors for my color scheme. I love how the black makes the other colors pop.

Although it is hard to see in the picture, I tried to add more texture to my card. I used a dry embossing folder to emboss the black and the white behind the skunk. I also added liquid applique to the tail and top of the head.

The octagons are a new set of spellbinders I recently purchased. I love the shape of them and I can see they will definitely get lots of use. The border is the new Spellbinder Fleur De Lis Border set.

I haven't done the inside of the card yet but I am thinking of writing "I hope your birthday comes out smelling like a rose" I thought after the fact that it would have been fun to make it a scented card, but I did not make this one scented. Next Time!!!

Card Recipe-
Stamps- Sweet 'N Sassy- Birthday Buddies
Paper: Pink Pirouette DP, Pink Pirouette, black, white glittered paper, white CS
Tools: Spellbinders Octagons, Swiss dots embossing folder, Spellbinders Fleur De Lis Border. liquid applique
Embellishments: pearls, Offray Embroidered ribbon

I hope you all have a wonderful day!! I hope it is full of sunshine! Thanks so much for stopping by today.
