Hello, friends!! I hope all in the USA had a great Memorial Day Weekend!!  I know our family did.  It is not very often that we have my dear hubby home for a weekend!! It was great!!

I want to thank all those who have served in our country (and their families), those who died, those who have served in the military and survived as well as those who currently are serving.  We thank you for protecting our borders and freedoms!!

Today I am popping in to share a card for the Shining the Light Challenge: Fluttering or Flying.
This card can be used for either gender: male or female. The stamps used include Mountain Range and On Eagle's Wings

Our Daily Bread Designs, On Eagles Wings, Mountain Range, designed by Chris Olsen

Eagles are very powerful creatures.  When I see an eagle it reminds me of the verse:
That that wait upon the Lord, shall mount up with wings as eagles, they shall run and not be weary, and they shall walk and not be faint. Isaiah 40:31

Lyrics On Eagle's Wings

You who dwell in the shelter of the Lord,
Who abide in His shadow for life,
Say to the Lord, "My Refuge,
My Rock in Whom I trust."

And He will raise you up on eagle's wings,
Bear you on the breath of dawn,
Make you to shine like the sun,
And hold you in the palm of His Hand.
The snare of the fowler will never capture you,
And famine will bring you no fear;
Under His Wings your refuge,
His faithfulness your shield.

And He will raise you up on eagle's wings,
Bear you on the breath of dawn,
Make you to shine like the sun,
And hold you in the palm of His Hand.
You need not fear the terror of the night,
Nor the arrow that flies by day,
Though thousands fall about you,
Near you it shall not come.

And He will raise you up on eagle's wings,
Bear you on the breath of dawn,
Make you to shine like the sun,
And hold you in the palm of His Hand.
For to His angels He's given a command,
To guard you in all of your ways,
Upon their hands they will bear you up,
Lest you dash your foot against a stone.

And He will raise you up on eagle's wings,
Bear you on the breath of dawn,
Make you to shine like the sun,
And hold you in the palm of His Hand.
And hold you in the palm of His Hand.

Hello, Friends!! I hope this post finds you all well!!  I hope your days have been full of lots of sunshine!!  Spring is definitely and judging by the warmer days here, summer is definitely on its way as well.  We have had many days in the 90's here.  The crazy thing is that some nights are 40 and close to freezing!

Today the ODBD Shining the Light challenge has a fun spring/summer inspiration for you!!
Here is my take on the inspiration!!

As I was stamping the birds were singing out my window!!  There is no greater inspiration as listening to them!!  The seemed like the perfect addition to frame Psalm 23!!  The vines in the background are created with the Belles Vignes die.

Our Daily Bread Designs, Spread Your Wings, Belles Vignes, Psalm 23, Birds and Nest die, designed by Chris Olsen

Spellbinders: Majestic Labels 25

I just love the 23rd Psalm.  It gives me such peace!!  I have many memories of it being read at funerals for some of our loved ones.  There is no greater comfort, though, but to know that they are now in the arms of Jesus!!  All their suffering and pain is now gone and that Jesus, who died for them to save them from their sins, is with them every step of the way until their last breath on earth.  His arms carry them to their Eternal Home!

One of our dear friends, Eddie, lost his battle cancer this past week.  While he is no longer with us, his testimony and love for the Lord will be remembered.  I can still see his continuous optimism and the big smile with his wonderful sense of humor!!  While he will be missed, he is no longer suffering!! I do, however, pray for his family, that God will give them peace and fill the void in their hearts.

Here is a photo of the inspiration:

Hello, Friends!!  I hope this post finds you all well!!  I am sorry for my lack of posting lately!! Life has been so busy, I often feel like I do not know whether I am coming or going.  Soon I will be done working since school will be out for the summer.  I have enjoyed working with the students I have had, but I am looking forward to a breather.  For a change of pace I will be making crafts with the kids for our church Bible School, all I have to do is come up with the crafts. LOL!  Two weeks after the beginning of Bible school, my daughters and I, will be going on our mission trip with the church youth group to Detroit, Michigan, for a week.  Should be eventful summer.  I just pray for the strength and endurance as I continue to deal with pain and issues with my leg.  God is so good!!  This week marks a year anniversary from the day I got hurt and God gave me a second chance at life!!  I am so thankful for His grace and mercy!

Today I am popping in to share a card I created with this week's sketch at the Shining the Light challenge!!

Here is my first creation using the new stamp sets Belles Vignes, Trois Jois Papillons, and the Psalm 23 as well as the Trois Jois Papillons die.  The designer paper is Christmas Collection 2014 and the flourishes are created using the Fancy Foliage die.

Our Daily Bread Designs, Belles Vignes, Trois Jois Papillons, 23rd Psalm, Trois Jois Papillons die, Christmas Collection 2014, and Fancy Foliage die, Designer-Chris Olsen

I so enjoy butterflies and had such a fun time using my copics to color the three different butterflies in the Trois Jollis Papillons stamp set and cutting them out with the matching dies (Trois Jollis Papillons dies).  The vines on the dp are created with the Belles Vignes dies stamped in black Versamark in alternate corners.

My second creation uses the Belles Vignes stamp set embossed in holographic embossing powder.  I then used the embossing resist technique and sponged ink (Coastal Cabana) over the embossing to make the vines pop up.  The sentiment is from the Spread your Wings stamp set and the beautiful two layer butterfly is created with the Fancy Fritillary die.

Here is a picture of my card lying flat which shows more detail of the vines and the dimension of the butterfly.

Here is the photo of the sets and dies used from the new release:
