Happy Friday all!! Are you ready for the weekend?!  I sure am...no work until Tuesday...now Lord willing I have some time to get something done around the house and stamp!!!

I was so honored and excited to be asked guest designer for this week's queen of the day STAMPERROBIN!! I adore my dt sister Robin and love how she is not only talented but that she is such an encourager!! She is such a sweet heart!!

While her gallery is full of inspiration and eye candy!! I chose this card as my inspiration keeping similar colors and using flowers but creating my own and arranging my foliage differently.

This card is created using the sneak peeks of the new release Ornate Hearts dies from Our Daily Bread Designs and the stamp sets Flourished Hearts and Bless your Heart to be released tomorrow, Saturday, Feb 1. The foliage (leaves, flourishes) are created with Our Daily Bread Designs Fancy Foliage dies. I used embossing folders (leaf folder from Darice) and corrugated cardboard for texture.

I chose to frame this verse since Robin not only likes to share her love of stamping but her faith as well.

Congrats Robin!! HUGS!!

The card I made is a sneak peek of some beautiful new heart stamps, dies, and sentiments being released by Our Daily Bread Designs on February 1st. These stamp sets are perfect for Valentines, encouragement, wedding cards, or just to express your love any time of the year.  The best news is they are available now in the Our Daily Bread Designs Store as a Pre-Order!

Thanks so much for stopping by!! I hope to see you for the gorgeous release tomorrow at ODBD!!

Have a great weekend!!

I am so sorry for my lack of posting.  I have just begun my part time job as a "Home bound Tutor" for the local school district for the last couple of weeks.  This past week has been  a difficult trying to adjust to meet the needs of this student, juggling the needs of home and family,  as well as caring for some pets for family while they were away.  Prayerfully this week will be less frustrating, with fewer  responsibilities,  and my life will be more balanced.

Today I was asked to be a guest designer for the CAS challenge at Splitcoast.  This week's challenge was to make a clean and simple card using at least two of these colors from this color palette at Design Seeds.

I chose the the tone of gray that looked like Sahara Sand and two of the reds.

Here is my CAS creation using a sneak peak from Our Daily Bread Designs called Heart of Joy and Clean Heart and some gorgeous called Ornate Hearts and  Beautiful Borders.

The embossing folder is Darice Hearts.

I colored in my hearts with the three different colors and substituted kraft for a neutral or one of the grays since I did not have anything closer to the hues in the color palette.  I used some recycled corrugated cardboard from a package at Christmas.

Hello Friends!! I hope everyone is well!!

Today I am popping in to share this week's Shining the Light challenge......An Inspiration photo.  I always find these challenging.  The photo is full of inspiration though.

Here is my take on the inspiration:

I was inspired my the mason jar of flowers but rather than make an image with a jar and flowers, I just made flourishes of flowers to frame the scripture: Psalm 130:5 from ODBD Scripture Collection 9.  It is stamped on scrap dp and cut our with a rectangular scallop die.  The verse is also matted on an embossed piece of Pink pirouette and framed with the Rectangular Fleur De Lis die.  I had a blast using my scraps of greens and even corrugated cardboard to create foliage and flourishes.  The flowers are created with a Martha Stewart Hydrangea punch (small and large)  I scored and sponged the insides to make them more like the inspiration and also more realistic.

Card Recipe:
ODBD Stamps Used: Scripture Collection 9
ODBD Dies Used: Ornate Border and Flowers Dies, Fancy Foliage
Other dies: Cheery Lynn Fancy Flourish
Punches: Martha Stewart Hydrangea, twig

Hello Friends!! I am so sorry for not posting lately.  Unfortunately we have been dealing with illness in our house...my mine priority has been trying to make them well....Nicki's pneumonia is improving although it seems to be slow.  Thanks to everyone for their well wishes and prayers for her.

Today I am popping in to share this week's Shining the Light challenge at Our Daily Bread Designs....a sketch!! ...an easy sketch!!!

Our Daily Bread Designs, Lavender, Chris Olsen

For my creation I used the new Lavender stamp set!! I just love this set!!  My creation is relatively clean and simple and took little time for me to create.  The lavender along the bottom of the card was colored directly on the stamp with a few purple watercolor markers (SU) and Wild Wasabi Green for the leaves.  I masked my image and stamped it a few times.

The edge of my card is die cut with Spellbinders Rectangles.  I purposely layered the white and lavender so they were slightly overlapping for a more two tone frame.

The verse is framed with the oval from Spellbinders Radiant Rectangles.

Card Recipe:
ODBD Stamps Used: Lavender
Dies Used: Spellbinders Timeless Rectangles, Radiant Rectangles (oval for sentiment)
Trim: Lavender Dyed Seam Binding

The bible speaks about the importance of friendship and how we are to build one another up in love.  What better example of genuine love and John  15:13 than the gift of our Savior on the cross...the ultimate sacrifice.

My goal for today is to do one kind thing for someone else and encourage them in some way.  It is amazing what one encouraging word may do for someone!!  It can be the one thing a person needs to know they are appreciated and loved!!

Ecclesiastes 4:9-10

Two are better than one, because they have a good reward for their toil. For if they fall, one will lift up his fellow. But woe to him who is alone when he falls and has not another to lift him up!

John 15:13

Greater love has no one than this, that someone lay down his life for his friends.

Proverbs 27:17

Iron sharpens iron, and one man sharpens another.

1 Thessalonians 5:11

Therefore encourage one another and build one another up, just as you are doing.

I want to thank all my blogging friends for their encouragement on each and every post!!

Hello friends!! I hope all is well!!

Today is the first challenge of the year for the Shining the Light Challenge at Our Daily Bread Designs.  It is a fun one too...use the numbers 2-0-1-4- for a recipe on your creation.

Here is my creation:

Our Daily Bread Designs, Canning jars, Canning Jar fillers 1, Canning Jars 2, ornate sentiments, Ornate borders and flowers, Canning jars dies, Antique Labels and Borders, Chris Olsen

2-sentiments, 0-ribbon, 1-bow, 4-layers
Card Recipe:

Spellbinders Dies: A2 Bracket Borders 1, Floral Doily Accents
Paper: My Mind's Eye, craft, Neenah White

Yes, that's right...Christmas is over and we are on to Valentine's day....LOL!!  Seriously I had a blast creating this card with these bright cheery colors and patterns!!

I hope you had a wonderful holiday with family and friends!! I know ours was busy with visiting family in NY, visiting family in VA and dealing with the stomach flu (ugh!), and now my dear daughter has pneumonia.  I am so sorry I have been MIA.  I am trying to change that but I am so behind.  While it looks like I am not creating, I really am...but many can't be shared right now...some will be open on Splitcoast for the Dirty Dozen on January 15.

I am not big on resolutions, since in my experience they don't last long, but the Lord has put it on my heart to encourage others more.  One way I can do that is through my cards.

1 Thessalonians 5:11

Therefore encourage one another and build one another up, just as you are doing.

Ephesians 4:29

Let no corrupting talk come out of your mouths, but only such as is good for building up, as fits the occasion, that it may give grace to those who hear.

Hebrews 10:24-25

And let us consider how to stir up one another to love and good works, not neglecting to meet together, as is the habit of some, but encouraging one another, and all the more as you see the Day drawing near.

Philippians 4:8

Finally, brothers, whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is just, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is commendable, if there is any excellence, if there is anything worthy of praise, think about these things.

I want to thank all my blogging friends for their encouragement on each and every post!!

Hello Friends!!! Happy New Year!!! May God bless you throughout the coming year!!!!  I so appreciated all of you, my blogging friends and the support you have shown me over the past year!!  I look forward to seeing all your new creations in the new year as well!!

Today I am popping in to share the New Release at Our Daily Bread Designs!! Kelley has a lot of fun and beautiful new sets being released today.  The team will have lots of inspiration for you and there are prizes so you will want to hop to each team members blogs.

Three winners will be randomly chosen from the comments left on the designers blogs to receive a $25 Gift Certificat to the ODBD Store, to be used toward the purchase of ODBD stamps.  You have until January 2, 2014 at 9:00 pm EST to make your comments!  The winners will be posted on the ODBD Blog on January 3rd, so be sure to check back there to see if you won.

Here are a few projects I created:

The first is a card I created with the Lavender, Joy in a Jar cut out with the ODBD Antique Labels and borders dies, Ornate Border Sentiments, and Decorative Corners dies.

The edge is embossed with silver embossing powder.  The lavender is masked and stamped four times to create a field of lavender and cut with copics.  The image panel is also dry embossed with a provocraft foliage embossing folder that has embossing only one side.  The borders along on the bottom is created with the Antique Labels and Borders dies and the Spellbinders Floral Doily Accents.

This is a matching gift set I created.  The box is custom made with my own design and no template or tutorials.  It uses the Apothecary Bottles stamps, Lavender, Ornate Border sentiments, custom made ODBD Apothecary Bottles dies , Antique Labels dies (which is custom made to match both Joy in a Joy and Lavender) and Ornate Borders and Flowers dies.

Here is a single picture of the mini card and tag I showed as a sneak peek using the Lavender stamp set. For more details, click here.

Here is a photo of the new release sets and dies used as well as customized die to match the Lavender stamp set:

Here is another sneak peak I shared with the Jar Fillers, the Canning Jars, and the Canning Jar dies.  For more details, visit this post.
