Hello Friends!!  This week the weather has been so beautiful!! It has been in the 60's and sunny so far!! The daffodils and flowering trees are blooming, the grass is all green (in fact we have mowed 2 times already), and trees are starting to leaf out. I just love this time of year when everything looks so fresh.  It seems so perfect with the celebration of Easter and the New Life its message promises if we believe.

2 Corinthians 5:17
Therefore if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creature; the old things passed away; behold, new things have come.

Today I would like in to share a springy card I created using violets.  I colored them in aqua, one of my fave colors!!

Hello, Friends!! Happy Tuesday!!  I pray all are doing well and are looking forward to the upcoming Easter holiday!

What a beautiful time of year, Easter falls in!  A time when the birds begin singing and rejoicing, the flowers and plants begin to bloom symbolizing new life, and the grass turns green (a symbol of everlasting life).  I never thought this to be a coincidence as we celebrate the new life Jesus has given us through His death and resurrection at Easter!  While He died a gruesome death just for us so we may have life and live it abundantly, what a day of rejoicing it is to know that the punishment he bore for our sins gives us eternal life if we believe on Him.  What a gift!!!

The true meaning of Easter gives us hope when we lose a loved one or when we face trials of our own.  Today I would like to share a card that hope brings comfort to a friend going through a difficult time in her life.

Card Recipe:
ODBD Stamps Used: Grace's Hope, Trois Jolies Papillons, Elegant Oval Frames
ODBD Dies Used: Lavish Layers, Filigree Frames, Jolies Papillons, Double stitched Rectangles, Rectangles, Elegant Ovals, Stitched Ovals, Vintage Flourish Pattern, Flourished Star Pattern

For this card, I incorporated the ODBD Shining the Light challenge: ODBDSLC282, Lace and Scripture.  Instead of using real lace, I used Lacey dies!!  If you would like to join the challenge, you can find more details here.  The team would love to see your creations!! You have until April 3 at 8 PM Eastern time to join us!

Thanks so much for stopping by!! I so appreciate your visits and comments!!  May you have a blessed day!!

hugs,

Welcome, Friends!! Today I am sharing a very special post in honor of Our Daily Bread Designs 8th Anniversary!!

It is hard to believe it has been that long already.  I joined Kelley as a design team member in November of 2008 so I have shared a lot of this journey with her.  It has been an honor to stamp for a company which has so many inspirational scripture verses and sentiments.  Thanks for this opportunity Kelley!

This year ODBD has something very special to share for their anniversary celebration that makes this anniversary release even more special for me.

You may have heard or read that my design team sister and very dear friend, Grace, has Breast Cancer and has been undergoing a very powerful chemotherapy treatment.  While times have been very tough and very challenging for Grace, she continues to let her light shine and give God the Glory for it all!! She is an amazing testimony and very dear friend whom I cherish.  We have shared many joys and sorrows together.  We would appreciate your prayers for healing and continued recovery for Grace as she continues to have a long battle in this journey with cancer.  We thank God that He is there with her through it all!!

Over the years Grace has been a design team member (since 2009)and  former Design Team Coordinator, for Our Daily Bread Designs;  she has shared or contributed ideas to Kelley for stamp sets, especially scripture, that have been released.  Scripture and faith continue to be first and foremost in Grace's life.  Today's Anniversary sets are a compilation of verses and sentiments that Grace shared with Kelley that bring her comfort and which she believes will bring comfort or touch the hearts of those experiencing a serious illness speaking of God's Grace, Strength, Hope, and Comfort.

We hope you enjoy the new anniversary sets and are inspired by the teams creations!! The sets being sold today, Kelley has chosen to dedicate to Grace.  I know I love them and I hope you do also.  Kelley has done an amazing job with the fonts, layouts, and dies to frame them.

The cards I will be sharing with you today will be using Scripture from Grace's Strength as well as the new dies Lavish Layers and Filligree Frames.

In addition to using these new stamps and dies, I used the Flourished Star Pattern for the outside border, Layered Lacey Squares for the decorative scallop on top of the scripture (in white) as well as the Rectangles and Double Stitched Rectangles dies.  The darker blue solid paper is from the recently released: Old Glory.

This card uses the same dies, paper, and stamp set as the card above but in a different configuration but also uses the Beautiful Borders die instead of the Layered Lacey Squares.

Here is a photo of the complete sets for the new release:

Happy Tuesday Friends!!  Today I am excited to be joining ODBD in celebrating their 8th Anniversary open for business!!  On Thursday, it will be their official anniversary!! We have several days of special events in celebration.  Today will be a special Shining the Light Challenge: Lace and Scripture.  Lace is the eighth-anniversary gift.

The card I am sharing features a verse that I find comforting, knowing that God is in control, even when I feel like life is consuming me.  The scripture is from Scripture Series 3.

ODBD Stamps: Scripture Series 3, Trois Jolies Papillons ODBD Dies Used: Beautiful Borders, Doily, Trois Papillons, Squares, Double Stitched Squares, Layered Lacey Squares, Flourished Star Pattern ODBD Paper Used: Ephemera Essential Collections, designed by Chris Olsen

This verse is one of those verses that is easy to memorize but not always easy to put into practice.  In times when family members or very close friends are diagnosed with a life-threatening disease such as cancer or maybe even you yourself, when tragedy strikes, or when life takes a different turn you would not expect, it is easy to read the verse above but it is another matter to turn all your worries and cares to God.  While I thank God that I can go to Him, it is not always to trust or to Let Go and Let God so to speak.  Do you have something occurring in your life? Is your life full of burdens?  Bring your worries and cares to Him.  I know these past few weeks have been very difficult for me personally and it is my challenge to not worry but to trust. This is a verse I am trying very hard to put into practice in my own life.  Through cards, messages, and the love of so many, God is showing me He has not forgotten us.  Thank you so much for your uplifting words of encouragement and prayers.

Hello, dear friends, and Happy Thursday!! I hope you have had a wonderful and restful weekend as well as a great beginning to your week!!

Today is the day of the Shining the Light challenge at ODBD; I had such fun making this creation that I will be sharing with you. The challenge this month is anything goes with ODBD stamps!!  Here is my creation:

Our Daily Bread Designs, Superstar, Double Stitched Squares, Layered Lacey Squares, Beautiful Borders, Sparkling Stars, Double Stitched Stars, Flourished Star Pattern, Ovals, Stitched Ovals, designed by Chris Olsen
ODBD Stamps Used: Superstar

I saw this gorgeous foil embossed designer paper at Michaels and just had to buy it.  I have saved it in my stash for a while but thought it would be fun to use it with today's card.  I also had groovy guava cardstock and ribbon from Stampin Up In Colors years ago.  I really do like the silver and peach (groovy guava) color combo paired with white.

I hope you enjoyed my creation and are in some way inspired by it.  We would love to see your ODBD creations.  You have until March 13 to join us.  For more inspiration, please visit my dt sisters: Sabrina, Julie, Diana, and Robin!!

Thanks for visiting and for your comments!!  I hope you have a blessed day!!

Welcome Friends, to the March ODBD New Release!!! You won't want to miss the inspiration from the bread basket using the new release or the chance to win!!

Three randomly selected winners will each receive a $25 gift certificate to the ODBD Store, to be used toward the purchase of ODBD Stamps found in the "ODBD stamps column" of the website just for commenting on the Design Team cards on their blogs!  You have until March 2, 2016, at 9:00 p.m. EST to leave your comments for a chance to win!  The Winners will be posted on the ODBD Blog on March 3rd, so be sure to check back to see if you won!

My first creation uses the new Double Stitched Star Dies and Super Star Stamp Set as well as the previously released Flourished Star Pattern Die, Vintage Labels Dies, Fancy Foliage Dies, and Sparkling Star Dies.  The designer paper used is the Heart and Soul Collection!

our daily bread designs, Superstar, Vintage Label Dies, double stitched star dies, Flourished Star pattern die, deisgned by Chris Olsen

To create the smaller stars above, I created a mask with the smaller star within the Sparkling Star Dies and stamped the largest star from the Superstar stamp set.  I then cut it out with the Double Stitched Star Dies and layered it on dimensional adhesive to the larger stamped star.  The background is created with the Heart and Soul designer paper die cut with the Flourished Star Pattern Die.

My second creation is meant to be a birthday card. It is created with the new Superstar stamp set, Double Stitched Star Dies, Double Stitched Square Dies, and Square Dies as well as the Beautiful Border Dies and Flourished Star Pattern Die (last layer for border).
The sentiment is die cut with the Pennant dies.  The border along the edge is created with the Beautiful Borders dies.
