Hello Friends!!!  I hope you are all well!!!  Today I am popping in to share today's Shining the Light challenge at ODBD as well as a sneak peek for tomorrow's release!!

Today's Shining the Light challenge is an inspiration.  The photo is below.

For my creation I used two sets of stamps from Our Daily Bread Design's newest release taking place tomorrow: Autumn Tree and God's Timing!!  The clock is die cut with ODBD's Circle Ornament Die and ODBD's Matting Circles.

I just love this verse!  It is so true!!  We not only have the seasons of winter, fall, summer, and spring but we also have the seasons of joys, sorrows, ups and downs.  God has a purpose for them all.  In all seasons I am so blessed to have God...especially in the seasons when there are trials.  He is always there!! Even when I am hurting or feeling alone!

Today is my birthday!!! and I get to celebrate the many seasons of my life...I have so much to be thankful for!!  I am so thankful to have my family and friends to celebrate with.  Just five months ago, I could have been gone from this earth after suffering from 2 massive pulmonary embolisms in both lungs, but God is not finished with me yet and I am so blessed to have this opportunity to share with you!!

My verse for today!!:
Rejoice in the Lord your God, for he has given you the autumn rains in righteousness. He sends you abundant showers, both autumn and spring rains, as before. — Joel 2:23

Holy God and tender Father, you are my great delight. When all others fail, you are still God. You are my rock and fortress, you are my tender shepherd, and you are my solid mountain that cannot be shaken or moved. Your blessings and grace shower down upon me and fill me with joy. No matter when I am in pain or when the joys or peaks of excitement touch my life, you are with me! I can't wait for the day I get to see you face to face and delight in your presence forever. Amen!!

I hope you have enjoyed my take on the inspiration.  Thanks for stopping by!! I hope you enjoy my creation!! For more inspiration for this challenge, please visit my dt sisters: Cheryl Scrivens, DJ Rants, Diana Nyugen, Robin Clendenning, Linda Carson, and Elizabeth Whisson.

A couple of weeks ago I received a pleasant and surprising email from my friend and dt sister of Our Daily Bread Designs, Cathy McCauley, asking me if I heard of the Creative Blog Hop.  Up until then I had not....until she shared some other posts by some other amazing crafters participating in the hop.

The Creative Blog hop is an ongoing blog hop design that works on a nominating system, where I nominate 2-3 other desires whom I admire and inspire me.  The idea is to learn more about designers in blogland by asking and answering 4 questions.

If you don't know Cathy, or you have not seen your creations, you have missed a lot since she is a real sweet heart, an amazing friend and person, and extremely talented!!  Cathy's signature is stitching and extreme creativity.  I am always inspired by her ability to try new things, including mixed media, and the amazing details she adds to each. Just look at this amazing creation by Cathy.

To think she nominated me!! I had so much difficulty two cards to showcase from her.  Cathy is amazing!!

Here are the questions we are asked to answer.
1. What am I working on right now?
While I used to be a designer for several design teams, and am a Dirty Dozen Alumni on Splitcoast Stampers, I am currently a member of the Our Daily Bread Designs (ODBD) Design Team, as well as the ODBD Shining the Light Challenge Coordinator.  I stay very busy!!  In addition I enjoy playing in challenges in blogland and on Splitcoast to stretch my creativity and grow as a crafter.

Unfortunately as of late, I have been more confined and have limited mobility due to breaking my ankle and suffering from a pulmonary embolism.  My projects include those that are a bit more CAS or include less media.

The cards or projects I create I use to send or encourage others...especially from my church family.

Here is one of my latest projects.

2. How does my work differ from others in my genre?
I really don't feel that my work is all that different from others.  I enjoy surfing other peoples galleries, pinterest, and blogs to see what others have done.  My best ideas come in the middle of the night.  I have a notebook next to my bed.  I try to vary my style and not keep to one style completely.  Others tell me that I am very detail oriented and have a more textured or layered look.  In the past, several have commented on my stitching.  Unfortunately, my physical limitations as of late makes it more difficult for me to stitch; although on my good days, I will add stitching for a finished look.

I love creating 3d Projects or gift boxes or different folds...

3. Why do I create what I do?
Creating for is an outlet for me and an opportunity to share my love of God's creation and my faith. I want to share the love and abilities God has given me with others .  Many times I am inspired by scripture and I just love to put a smile on the face of my recipients.

4. How does my creative process work?
Most times I begin with a certain stamp set.  My colors are inspired by my design paper if I am using any.  Once I have decided my stamps and colors, I decide upon a layout or fold.  I love to be creative in my designs but if I am suffering from a creative block, I go to sketches in blog land or Splitcoast.  The sketches or creations change as I create and sometimes turn out completely different from what I planned. Sometimes, my creations begin with a challenge or inspiration. I just love to make my creations look realistic but I also enjoy taking artistic liberties when coloring!  If I want realistic coloring, I often will google for pictures that are more realistic.

Well that is enough about me...now I get to nominate two other talented ladies to join the hop!!

Introducing....

Kathy Roney from Joyfully Made Designs

I had the pleasure of working very closely with Kathy in the past as a design team sister on the Our Daily Bread Designs Challenge Team.  Kathy currently designs for Heartfelt Creations.  Since Kathy has moved to the South and is only a few hours from me, I hope to meet her soon in person.  She is an amazing artist and friend!!  She puts all her love, faith, and talent in to each every project she creates.  Her details, coloring, layering and designs are beyond stunning!!  She is a master at combining a variety of sets together to create a masterpiece!!  Here is one example of her amazing creations:

Robin Clendenning from Inkmagination

Robin (aka as Stamperrobin on Splitcoast Stampers) and I have the pleasure working together on the Our Daily Bread Designs Challenge Team.  Our Term on the Dirty Dozen Team also overlapped for a few months. Robin is very talented and enthusiastic.  Her enthusiasm shows in all her creations with her bright colors and very detailed pieces of art.  Most of her creations are full of luscious layers and textures...so much eye candy!!

Here is an example of one of her creations...and this doesn't include her gorgeous coloring just her stunning layers and textures!!! Sheer elegance!!

I love and admire each of these talented ladies.  Please stop by there blogs next Monday, October 6, when they will be sharing a little bit about themselves.  I am sure they will have lots of fun facts and projects to share!!

I hope you have enjoyed this post!! Thanks for stopping by!!  Have a blessed day!!

Hello Friends!!  I hope this post finds you all well and enjoying a wonderful weekend!! It has been beautiful here...warm during the day but not too warm and cool in the evening.  We had a great time as a family sitting out in the backyard having a fire. Boy did that fire feel good in the brisk air!!

Today I am popping in to share a sneak peak of a partial tag set and box that I created using a sneak peek from Our Daily Bread Designs to be released on Wednesday!!!  I just love the new and upcoming ODBD Poinsettia Die and I had a blast creating a gift box for my tags.

The poinsettia is cut out and embossed.  I used a white shimmery metallic acrylic paint to paint over the embossing so it pops more.  I also used the ODBD Fancy Foliage die, the Quatrefoil Design die, and the sneak peek of the stamp set God's Timing.

The tag is created with the Christmas Pattern ornaments stamp set, the Circle Ornaments dies, and the sneak peak of Matting Circle dies.

I hope you have enjoyed my project!! The completion of this set will be posted on Wednesday, the day of the ODBD Release.

Have a blessed weekend!! Thanks for stopping by!!

Hello friends!! I hope this post finds you all well!!  I can't believe how much the weather has changed and the temperatures are so much more like Fall!!  It is very cool here in Virginia!!

Today I am popping in to share a card I created!!

I used the new ODBD release Quilts for my sentiment and image.  It seems these days that I never have enough thank you cards!! I have so many people to thank for the help I receive from bringing my kids to church activities during the week when my husband can't, to picking up a few odds and ends for me at the grocery store, to bringing me to Physical Therapy.  The list goes on.  I am so blessed.  I have to admit I never realized what a nuisance it is not to be able to drive a car or do things on your own.  We all take so much for granted...including me.

Psalm 107:1  Oh give thanks to the Lord, for he is good, for his steadfast love endures forever!
Have a blessed day!!  Thanks for stopping by!! I would love to see your comments so I know you were here.  I would love to return the favor.

Hello Friends!! I hope this post finds you all well!!  I can't believe how fast time is flying and that we are now officially into Fall!!  Wow, time flies!!

Today I am popping in to share a card I created for this week's Shining the Light challenge at Our Daily Bread Designs...which is an inspiration challenge!! I just love the colored leaves, pumpkins, Indian corn and the many other decorations or looks of fall.

For my creation I used the Our Daily Bread Designs stamp sets Doily Blessings (and the coordinating die ODBD Doily), Pumpkin (and coordinating die

Our Daily Bread Designs, Pumpkin, Doily Blessings, Doily die, pumpkin die, beautiful borders die, recipe and tags die, fancy foliage die, ODBDSLC214, designer-Chris Olsen

ODBD Stamps Used: Doily Blessings, Pumpkin
ODBD Dies Used: Beautiful Borders, Doily, Fancy Foliage, Recipe and Tags, Pumpkin Die
other materials: My Mind's Eye dp, kraft, black, olive, white (neenah solar white), and hemp

To every thing there is a season, and a time to purpose under heaven Ecclesiastes 3: 1....

Ecclesiastes 3: 2 A time to be born, and a time to die; a time to plant, and a time to pluck up that which is planted; 3 A time to kill, and a time to heal; a time to break down, and a time to build up; 4 A time to weep, and a time to laugh; a time to mourn, and a time to dance; 5 A time to cast away stones, and a time to gather stones together; a time to embrace, and a time to refrain from embracing; 6 A time to get, and a time to lose; a time to keep, and time to cast away; 7 A time to rend, and a time to sew, a time to keep silence, and a time to speak; 8 A time to love, and a time to hate; a time of war, and a time of peace.

How often do you look at the outdoors and see the masterpiece that God has created!! He has made all things beautiful and there are no mistakes in His creation.  This also so for the seasons in your life, God is there through it all.  You can thank Him for those joys and blessings you receive but also rely on Him to carry you through the trials and tribulations you travel through.  He is there in every season!!

Hello Friends!! I hope you are all well and looking forward to the weekend like I am!!!

Today the design team is kicking off the weekend with some inspiration using the latest releases at Our Daily Bread Designs!!!

Here is my creation using Birthday Doily, Hand Knit, and the Doily die from September's Release as well as the Fancy Foliage die from a prior release.

The Birthday Doily is stamped in pink to create a background.  The sentiment is from Hand Knit, Sponged in pink ink and cut out with a circle die, and layered on the Doily die.  The doily stamp makes such a fun design when randomly stamped!!

The shape of the card uses Labels 28 and Decorative Labels 28 from Spellbinders.

Here are the photos of the sets used:

Today I am popping in to share another card I created for the second week of the Stitch It challenge at ODBD!! I just love stitching on cards but have not been able to sew for the longest time since I was creating from the couch.  Since I am now sitting at the table for short periods of time, I can sew on my sewing machine!!!

Hello friends!!  It is a weekend!! Yeah!!  I apologize not for posting like I should each week.  This week I had surgery to remove the filter they put in when I had my blood clot in both lungs.  I am so thankful to God for bringing me another step closer to recovery and for a successful surgery.  I am sore and not doing as much... but recovering.  God is good!!

The creation I am sharing is one I made earlier in the week before my surgery. It has been a while since I have had the opportunity to join a challenge at Splitcoast Stampers so I thought this challenge of Wrap it for Technique Lovers looked like a fun one. I wrapped yarn around a large acrylic block and stamped it in cameo coral, groovy guava, basic grey, and bermuda bay. It makes a fun background.

My image is from Hand Knit , a new release from ODBD, and a sentiment from Sewing . The image is popped on a doily die cut.

I hope you all have a wonderful weekend!!  Thanks for stopping by!!

Hello Friends an Happy Labor Day to all in the USA!! Welcome to another fun September Release at Our Daily Bread Designs!!

The Bread Basket has lots of fun inspiration using the new release...you won't want to miss the opportunity to see all the gorgeous creations by my dt sisters or for a chance to be one of three lucky random winners to receive a $15 gift certificated toward stamps at ODBD.  You have until 9 pm on September 2 to leave a comment on the release posts of the design team to qualify to win.  Winners will be announced on the ODBD Blog on September 3.

My first creation is a tri-shutter card that uses the Quilts, Sewing
Stitches and ODBD Soulful Stitches 6x6 Paper Collection from the new release as well as Vintage Labels dies from a previous release.

I had so much fun coloring the quilt to match the design paper but make it just a tad bit brighter so it pops in the front.  I also used a Spellbinders Labels 4 die to frame two of the quotes.  The edges of all the panels are all stitched on.  The fold is using the pre-cut and pre-scored tri-shutter fold available at ODBD.

My second creation uses the Felicity and Sewing stamp sets from this months new release as well as the Pennant Swag, Recipe and Tags (circle for sentiment) and Beautiful Borders Die.

I had so much fun coloring the dress with my copics and fussy cutting it out.  It is mounted on an embossed Decorative Labels 4 and Labels four die from Spellbinders.  To keep with the sewing theme I added some charms and stitched the edges.  The layout uses the current sketch from the ODBD Shining the Light challenge.

Here is a photo of the inside of the card using the newest Birthday Doily stamp set as well as the new ODBD Doily die released today.

Here are photos of the stamps and dies used on the creations above from today's September release:

I hope you were in some way inspired by my creations!!  Thanks so much for stopping by and for leaving comments.  Your visits are so appreciated.  I hope you have a blessed day!!
