Hello all!!  I hope you are enjoying your weekend...for many it is a holiday weekend. Enjoy!!  We are going back to New York to spend time with the family.  Can't wait.  We leave today (Friday).  Woohoo!!

Today I am popping it to share this week's Shining the Light Challenge this week at Our Daily Bread Designs.

This week's challenge:
Use the colors pink, black and/or grey and white/vanilla.
This week will be a two week challenge.

To make the challenge even more fun, we will be giving out a prize, $15 gift certificate to be used toward stamps at the Our Daily Bread Designs store!! Entries for thprize must be submitted by Friday, June 8th at 8 a.m. EST. One random winner will be chosen and announced next Saturday.

While it is not required to use Our Daily Bread Designs images and sentiments on your creations, we would love to see them if you have them. As a way of recognizing those who do use Our Daily Bread Designs stamps, we will again be choosing three or more of our participants  for the  Shining the Light Award . In order to qualify for this award or join the challenge, however, you must use Our Daily Bread stamps and have your submission added to Mr. Linky by Friday, June 8th at 8 a.m. EST. If you upload your creations to Splitcoast Stampers or any other online gallery, please use the keyword is ODBDSLC110. When creating your posts on blogs please include a link to the challenge.

Here is my take on the challenge:

For my creation I made a more simplistic card using the My Mind's Eye Blush paper for my design.  The label with the sentiment is actually part of the paper that I cut out and adhered with dimensionals.  I just love the dark pink, light pink, gray and white together.  The sentiment is a sneak peak from Our Daily Bread Designs to be released on June 1.  It is called Thank You Sentiments.  I just love this new set!!  I did do some fancy stitching with my new machine but you can see it better close up (click on the photo) or in person.

ODBD stamps used: (Sneak Peek) Thank You Sentiments
("To thoughtful you...from thankful me")
Paper: My Mind's Eye- Blush, Basic Grey cardstock (SU), white
Accessories: Tear Drop lace, rose pink ribbon, Martha Stewart Daisy Border Punch, pearls

This weekend is a Special time in the USA to remember and honor the men and women who died while serving our country. They paid the ultimate sacrifice for our freedom!!  We should pray for our servicemen and women daily!

Besides our US military, there is somebody else who died for us so that we may have Eternal Life and that is Jesus Christ! Jesus said, "I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me" - John 14:6. Jesus explains to us the reason for shedding His blood and His death on the cross was so that our sins may be forgiven and we can spend eternity in heaven! Let's remember the ultimate sacrifice He made just for us.  His death enables us to receive real Freedom for eternity!!!

Happy Saturday!!  It has been a while since I posted since our family had been sick with the flu, my ability to craft was hindered by pulling a muscle in my shoulder, and my computer crashed AGAIN.  Grrr!  Looks like I will have to take the computer in since I think Windows has been deleted somehow.  While computers are a necessary evil the expense is killing me!!!

If you get lost along the way, go to theODBD blog for the full link list.  One of the post is a hop hot spot and a name will be drawn from that list of comments to win a $15 ODBD store gift certificate.  So, all you have to do is hop along and see all the creations and leave a little love!  You have until Wednesday,May, 23rd at 6 pm.  The winner will be announced May 24th!  Enjoy all the awesome inspiration using For the Love of ODBDSpellbinder's Compatible sets!

Now on to my creations:

This is the first card I made using the Mini Tags 3 Stamp set from Our Daily Bread Designs which was cut out with the Grand Caliber and the compatible Ribbon Tags Trio Dies from Spellbinders.  The background of the card is stamped with the Grunge Butterfly Background in Green Galore (SU ink). The lacey frame is cut out with the  Lace Doily Motifs.  The outside frame is created with the Lotus Borderabilities Petite die from Spellbinders.  The bow is tied with the Bow Easy and May Arts Green Satin Ribbon.

My second creation is one that is more masculine and one that I made for this week's Pacific Celery Crumb cake challenge on Splitcoast stampers.

My niece and nephew are graduating this weekend from Liberty University with a degree in Youth Ministry. In two weeks they will be leaving to be missionaries in Hawaii so I thought the Happy Retirement and the Mini Tags 2 stamp sets from Our Daily Bread Designs would be perfect. As noted on the above card, the Mini Tags 3 stamp set is compatible with the Spellbinders Ribbon Tags Trio Three dies.

Here are photos of the compatible stamp sets used on my cards that work with the Spellbinder's Ribbon Tags Trio Three.

Thanks for stopping by today!! I hope you are somehow inspired by my creations!!  For more inspiration, the next stop on the hop is the exceptionally talented Lori.

This week Our Daily Bread Designs- Let Your Light Shine has posted another sketch for a sketchbook layout.  My dear daughter, Nicki, who is 12, and rarely posts on her blog made one of our darling new pet, Zoe.  I would appreciate if you would pop over and leave a comment for her.  It would really make her day.  Here is her blog.

Have a blessed Day!!!

Happy Tuesday all!! I hope you all have had a good beginning to your week.  This week I began doing some more painting in my new home.  As I complete each room, it feels and looks so clean.

Today I would like to share a card I made yesterday for Splitcoaststampers CAS "Chic" Word Challenge.

When I think of Chic, I think stylish and elegant with black and white....

so I made a black bow with some ribbon and white adding a few punched flowers (the flowers themselves were left from another card that I never ended up using).

The verse is from Our Daily Bread Designs- Fortress stamp set .

The embossing folder is Provocraft scrollwork.

The sentiment is framed with Spellbinders Ovals and Twisted Metal Tags and Accents.

Thanks for stopping by today!! I hope you are somehow inspired by my creation!!

Now on to my take on the challenge...my second layout ever!!!

The pictures are of my dear daughter, Nicki, on her sixth grade graduation last year at church Sunday School.  All the sentiments and quotes are from the Dreams stamp set at Our Daily Bread Designs.  The designer paper is Prima Meadow Lark.  I just love the lavender and pinks in this paper.  It is  my dear daughter's favorite color. The images are framed with the Spellbinders Fleur De Lis Rectangles and Classic Rectangles.  The "You did it!" and the border are from the Spellbinders Persian Accents.  The flowers are recycled OLD prima flowers that I crunched and remolded.  The leaves are made with Martha Stewart Twig Punches and Spellbinders Itty bitty blooms. The caps are Jolee Success Stickers. I did lots of sewing which you can see if you open the photo in a new tab.  The stitching was done on my new sewing machine.  Yeah!!!
