ODBD Bread Basket

Hello friends!! I hope you are all doing well!! It is blistering hot and humid here in Virginia!! Thankfully we had a large thunderstorm with some rain.  With the extremely hot temperatures, the ground dries out quickly and our lawn is looking browner.

Today I would like to share a bookmark I created using the new Birdhouse stamp set to be released on August 1 at Our Daily Bread Designs.  As you can see, there is no birdhouse in the photo.  I masked the stamp so I could get the bird and cherry tree but not the birdhouse since I had a smaller stamping area to work with.

Stamps Used: ODBD sneak peek: Birdhouse

I hope you have a wonderful day and beginning to your weekend.
Thanks so much for your comments and visits.  You are so appreciated!!

Hello, Friends!! I hope this post finds you all well.  I apologize for my absence.  I was hoping this summer would allow more time to create but, unfortunately, my graduate classes for the purpose of renewing my teacher certification has been eating at my time, much more challenging and time-consuming than I imagined.

As the month is coming to a close, I would like to share a card I created using the Forever Friends stamp set at ODBD.  I enjoyed the moments I had to color and create it!  It reminds me of the many Gloriosa Daisies in bloom in my garden right now.

The image and sentiment is stamped using Forever Friends.  The framing of the sentiment uses the Vintage Border Dies and Ornate Ovals,  The designer paper is ODBD's Old Glory.

We have no better friend than the One and Only who has laid down his life for our friends.

Does this speak to you today? Whenever you feel unloved, unimportant, or insecure, remember to whom you belong. Ephesians 2:19-22 #BibleVerse #FortWorth #church:

Have a blessed day!!

Hi All!! The summer is just flying by!! Yikes!  Where does the time go!  I know where mine has gone...my graduate classes.  LOL!  Only two more weeks to go until they are complete!!  In three weeks school starts again!! Only one week of vacation this year....oh well, I am enjoying the flowers and the summer weather and even got to enjoy a wonderful week with family!!!

Speaking of flowers... Today I am popping in to share a card I created for this month's Shining the Light challenge at ODBD: Anything that Grows with ODBD.
ODBD Stamps Used: A True Friend

ODBD Dies Used: Bitty BordersLayered Lacey OvalsOrnate OvalsBeautiful BordersPierced RectanglesVintage Flourish Pattern

The white background behind the flowers has just a bit of texture.  I lightly embossed the Vintage Flourish Pattern die into the background.  It is much more noticeable in person but you can slightly see it in the photo.  I used a mask to create a background of flowers using the Bearded Iris from A True Friend.  The last flower is cut out and layered on dimensionals.

Today we mourn and pray for our brothers and sisters in France—for those who lost loved ones in last week's terrort attacks, and for the millions of French citizens who must now try to process this brutality.  So many around the world are mourning loss due to recent terror attacks both in the USA and abroad!!

One of the oldest and toughest challenges facing Christians today is finding a way to understand the existence of  the terrible evil in a world that is ruled by a loving, all-powerful God. It’s not an easy question to answer—if it were, we wouldn’t be struggling with it thousands of years after Christ—but God does offer hope in the face of violence and evil.
Unfortunately God has not made us robots that just do what is asked of us but rather gives us Free Will to make a choice.  The offenders are choosing evil.  Unfortunately, this happens in ever increasingly sinful world!!

Scripture of Comfort:
The sufferings we have now are nothing compared to the great glory that will be shown to us. Everything God made is waiting with excitement for God to show his children’s glory completely. Everything God made was changed to become useless, not by its own wish but because God wanted it and because all along there was this hope: that everything God made would be set free from ruin to have the freedom and glory that belong to God’s children.
We know that everything God made has been waiting until now in pain, like a woman ready to give birth. Not only the world, but we also have been waiting with pain inside us. We have the Spirit as the first part of God’s promise. So we are waiting for God to finish making us his own children, which means our bodies will be made free. We were saved, and we have this hope. If we see what we are waiting for, that is not really hope. People do not hope for something they already have. But we are hoping for something we do not have yet, and we are waiting for it patiently. — Romans 8:18-25

May God bless you and keep you!  Thanks so much for stopping by and for your comments.

Hello, Friends!! I can't believe how time flys by and that it is already July!!  It seems that if I blink, the summer will be over. I guess being so busy with graduate classes and etc. makes the time slip away that much faster!!  I still am enjoying the summer despite my busy schedule.  I just love seeing all the flowers blooming, the green leaves, and the green grass.  Everything is so lush!! Our daylily garden is just gorgeous right now!!
