Happy Sunday!! I hope you all are having a wonderful weekend!! I know it has been great having some family time for me. With Mother's Day today, my dear husband had me go to the Nursery to pick out a tree and then we planted. A small trip turned to a four hour excursion. It was very very windy here (horrid really). But we walked through the acres and acres of trees and plants. The girls, my husband and I just had a great time together. No crafting or housework for me....oh well.
Happy Mother's Day!! Today we get to recognize our mothers, grandmothers or the special women in our life. As a Mom, I thank God for my Godly husband who expresses his love for me in all he does and two my beautiful daughters that I have been granted to take care of. They light up my life (most of the time....LOL! No one is perfect right?) I am also thankful for my Mom, Mother In law and the legacy she has left me and the family I had while I was growing up. I am truly blessed!!!

Anywho...I was suppose to be sharing the Stampin Sisters in Christ challenge for this week....

our sponsor is once again Simon Says Stamp, donating one of their Exclusive stamp sets called Deer with Forest Friends.

This week's hostess is the super sweet and talented Linda Lucas!! She is a dear. Linda has chosen the verse: John 4:23 But the hour cometh, and now is, when the true worshipers shall worship the Father in spirit and in truth: for the Father seeketh such to worship him.

Linda's original challenge was to make a card a part of your worship before she changed it to create a card with blue, brown and white. I decided to incorporate both challenges into my creation. (I challenge you to do the same)

A dear friend of mine recently lost her 16 year old son. As you can imagine, Life has been very rough for her and her family. God has placed it on my heart to be there for her. This past week I took her out to lunch and spent the day talking and walking with her. I thank God for this opportunity to make a difference in my dear friend's life. I have placed it upon my heart to make a card and visit with her weekly to encourage her. The project I am sharing with you today is one that I made for her. While the project itself is a coupon holder that I created, I altered it to include inspirational verses that may help her in her sorrow reminding her she is not alone.

The verses are from the Scripture sets 2 and 4 (those displayed) with the Vine Borders and Ironworks Borders from Our Daily Bread Designs. The angel is one of my fave images from Wags n Whiskers-Say a Prayer illustrated by Crissy Armstrong. I made a matching card to go with the verse holder (displayed in an earlier post as well....but I thought I would share the set.)
The dp is my favorite Parisian Breeze from SU (retired).

Card and scripture holder recipe:
Stamps: Say a Prayer from Wags n Whiskers
Scripture cards: ODBD Scripture sets 2 and 4, ODBD Ironworks and Vine borders
Paper: Parisian Breeze SU, Baja Breeze, white
Accessories: Ivory Prima Trellis rose, Blue Silk Ribbon, Cuttlebug iron flourish embossing folder, Bosskut flourish, Kaiser-craft snow pearls, prima ivory mini gypso, spellbinders Fancy Tags

challenges:
A Crafty Little Place (Die Cuts R Us) challenge: sketch for coupon holder
Flutter by Wednesdays- angel, butterfly or fairy
Sentimental Sunday's- For that someone special
Incy Wincy- anything goes
Paper Play: digi or stamp and bling
Crafts and Me - Sparkle
Whoosy Daisy Challenge - As you Like It
crafty creations- magical
Creative card crew- April Showers bring May Flowers (flowers all over my card and coupon holder)
Practical Scrappers- stickers- pearl strand on coupon holder is a sticker

Delightful Sketches~punches (corner rounder punch on coupon holder)
Wee Memories~ stitching

I removed the first post because it didn't make any sense -- stumbling over the keyboard -- LOL. I just wanted to say how beautiful and thoughtful this is for your friend in need. It is like the commentary Linda had on the challenge for SSIC this week saying that we should be mindful of sisters with heavy hearts who need a hand on their shoulder -- you are that hand on the shoulder!
