ODBD Bread Basket

Tuesday, April 8, 2014
Happy Tuesday Friends!! Today I am popping in to share this week's Shining the Light challenge!!

The challenge at the ODBD Shining the Light is Rain or Water.  Let's see a technique using water, water in your image or a mostly aqua creation!!

For this creation I stenciled and embossed the Vintage Flourish Die with aqua ink and then layered the Flourished Label Bordercut out with the matching die (Vintage Flourish Die).  In the center of the label I masked the edges and stamped the Chalkboard Fan Background.  The Waves on the Sea image was colored with copics and cut out with a circle die and recessed in a Black circle to look like a port hole on a ship.

This is one of my fave ODBD images and it reminds me of this passage:

Jesus Calms the Storm

23 Then he got into the boat and his disciples followed him. 24 Suddenly a furious storm came up on the lake, so that the waves swept over the boat. But Jesus was sleeping. 25 The disciples went and woke him, saying, “Lord, save us! We’re going to drown!”
26 He replied, “You of little faith, why are you so afraid?” Then he got up and rebuked the winds and the waves, and it was completely calm.
27 The men were amazed and asked, “What kind of man is this? Even the winds and the waves obey him!”

What a comfort to know that God is always present and that he can calm not only the natural forces of life but our circumstances of life!!!  In the storms of your life may you feel His presence even when you feel you don't see him!!
