Hello all!! I hope everyone in the USA enjoyed a day off for Labor Day and had a chance to spend time with family. We had a great weekend of camping...taking advantage of a day off from work and enjoying the last of the summer!!
Today I am popping in to share this week's Shining the light challenge at our Daily Bread Designs. This week's challenge is one layer!! That means one layer and a base (this includes layers using dies- lets keep it thin and simple)
Here is my creation using the Bordered Sentiment technique found in the resources section at Splitcoast and the Holly wreath stamp set from Our Daily Bread Designs (recently released)
Card Recipe:
ODBD Stamps used: Holly wreath
Embossing folder: SU Square lattice textured impressions folder
Other accessories: Corner Rounder punch. 3/4 inch wide stitched black ribbon, Scoring tool
Ink: Black Memento and copics
Technique: Bordered Sentiment technique
For more inspiration for this challenge, please visit my dt sisters:

Oh this is so pretty Chris! I love the added texture on the top and bottom... further popping that sentiment panel! Even though both you and I are not too familiar with single layer cards ;) you certainly aced this one!!!
hugs,
Grace
Oh, Chris, this is a beautiful card! I LOVE how you've embossed the layer and used that new technique (which I really need to try)! What a beautiful Christmas card with the new set! I LOVE it! Hugs!
What a beautiful card, love the way you've used the bordered Sentiment technique and then expanded it to include the embossing on top!
Hugs, antonella :-)
Love your take on the technique! The texture really sets it apart and that ribbon down the side is so dramatic. Beautiful card!
Beautiful Mom!! I love the embossing, coloring, and how the wreath is seemingly split in half!! Stunnning!!
Love you!!
Hugs,
Nicki
You've done such an amazing job with the one layer design Chris!! Love the split image and sentiment! HUGS :)
Wow, Chris, this is so impactful with the bright and brilliantly colored wreath, the varied textures and the contrast. Wowzers!! You rocked the challenge! Blessings!
Oh so lovely Chris! Love all the white texture w/the pop of color! Beautifully colored and beautifully designed! Wish I were on your Christmas card list!! PS. Thanks for such a warm and encouraging welcome to the dt!
Beautiful card! Love all the white space and the embossing.
