Happy Sunday all!!  Well this post is going to be short and sweet since I am dealing with a migraine and it is really making me sick to be on the computer right now as well.  Sorry all!

Anywho...today is a Stampin Sisters in Christ challenge!!

Today's challenge hostess is the sweet and talented Kristine!!!  Kristine chose the verse:
MAIN VERSE: Mark 15:17 "They put a purple robe on him, then twisted together a crown of thorns and set it on him." CONTEXT PASSAGE: See Mark 15: 16-20

When you stop to think of what a gift "grace" is and what our Lord went through to give us eternal life and pay for the penalty of our sin, it makes you cringe.  Jesus died the most painful death as an innocent atonement for us.  He did not deserve to die...we did...Praise God for this wonderful gift of salvation!!  May we all remember the sacrifice He paid for us and the gift of eternal life this Easter.

Kristine's challenge is:
Use shades of purple as your main color AND/OR use wood paper or elements on your card.

Here are my creations:

I made two since I felt my Penny Black card did not have as much purple as it should have. Here is my first creation using the Mother's Day (poppies), the poppy die, and the Fancy Labels stampset from Our Daily Bread Designs.  The Fancy Labels fit perfectly in the labels 17 die from Spellbinders and is also available at ODBD.  The embossed background is created with the spellbinder Lattice squares embossing folder.
My next creation uses the Penny Black Purr-fect day collection (available at Stamp and create).  The background is embossed with a tulip frame embossing folder from SU.  The image is watercolored,  cut out, and popped up on dimensionals.  It is framed with the Lotus Spellbinders die (which is purple although it looks black here).  The ribbon is lavender silk ribbon from May Arts.

For more inspiration for the Stampin in Christ Challenge, please visit my dt sisters:
Grace, Linda, Lisa, Peggysue, Randi (on leave), Meisje, Kristine, Sabrina, Marilynn and  Rebecca.
