Happy Sunday Everyone!! Happy July 4th to everyone in the USA and Happy Belated Canada Day to all my Canadian Blogging friends. I hope everyone is having a great weekend!!
What an honor to be the hostess of today's challenge on July 4th at Stampin Sisters in Christ Challenge!! As a Christian, we have so much to be thankful for here in this country. The greatest blessing being the freedoms we have. I think we sometimes take these freedoms for granted. Mostly our freedom of religion. When I think back to the founding of this nation and the Christian beliefs and focus our leaders had and the fight they went through to have this freedom, I am so thankful for the freedoms we have today. This is not a freedom to be taken lightly, however in light of what is happening in our nation today.
For this reason, I have chosen this verse:
2 Chronicles 7:14 If my people who are called by My name will humble themselves and pray and seek My face, and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin and heal their land.
I have elaborated on this verse on the Stampin Sisters in Christ Blog if you are interested.
The challenge this week at Stampin Sisters in Christ is to create a project or card with red or blue on it. It does not need to be patriotic.
Here is my take on the challenge. I used the Our Daily Bread Designs stamp set just released on July 1 called Our Daily Bread. I used the Midnight Madness Sketch challenge for this week (MMSC60). The dp is from Basic Grey Capella and Basic Grey Wassail. I created the flower with rafia. The ribbon is red grosgrain which I stitched and pulled together.
Card Recipe:
Stamps: Our Daily Bread Designs stamp set just released on July 1 called Our Daily Bread
Paper: Basic Grey Capella and Basic Grey Wassail
Accessories: buttons, charm from America (Thank You GF!!), MS Shell border punch, grosgrain ribbon, round corner punch, distresser
Challenges:
Midnight Madness Sketch challenge
Papertake Weekly-stitching
Practical Scrappers- border punches
ABC Challenge: Extra dimension
