Hi everyone!! Last week I received an email from Susie Sugar at Die Cut Dreams that I had won the Die Cut Dreams #30 challenge!! What I did not know is the winner was given the opportunity to be a guest designer in February for two weeks! Imagine my surprise but also my excitement to work along this talented group of ladies!!!! Thanks for this honor and opportunity ladies!!
The challenge this week at Die Cut Dreams is to use red, black and white on your creation. That sounded so much like a Valentine or "Love" type card that I just could not resist using the Steal a Kiss Image from Wags n Whiskers.
The paper is from Making Memories: Black Tie. The layout is using last week's Sketch Saturday Challenge. The image is watercolored. The corners are using a vintage corner die from Cuttlebug without punching the insides out. For the tag, I punched some of the insides of 2 corners to place at the ends to make a scroll look. The spiral border is created with the Martha Stewart Punch. The flourishes are made with the BossKut Flourish die.
Other Challenges: Die Cuts R Us Challenge ribbon
Lexis Creations Challenge Valentines
Sophisticats Challenge Love
Spoon full of Sugar challengeFree style
Cute card Thursday challenge blooming gorgeous
Corrosive challenge All you need is love
Sketchy colour Challenge Red & black
Stampavia and more Challenge Love/ Valentines
Polka Doodles - None traditional valentine

How cool is that?!**
For my creations I used the Bella Blooms big flower and the sentiment. The colors are Baja Breeze and Brown. I used Mercy's sketch #58 to create this card. I did add an extra layer with the top not die that I cut in half to add some curves.
I used the template from Leigh Ann Baird called the Able Gable template to create this little gift box. Another super easy and fun template!!! This is actually a pretty roomy little box, so the options are endless! I used it to put Lindt Chocolates in for my dear sister in law for her birthday. The leaves with the flower are created with gingham ribbon. The flower is cute into layers and popped up with dimensionals.
Card Recipe:
Stamps: Bella Blossoms- Stampin Up (SU)
Paper Baja Breeze, soft sky, Bitter chocolate, white,
Accessories: Top Note dies (Sizzix-Stampin Up), Victoria Cuttlebug Folder, Swiss Dots embossing folder,Oval punches from SU, Memory Box ribbon

Happy Friday Everyone!! I can't believe the weekend is upon us already!! Boy is it ever going to be a cold one. This morning it is below zero and windy. What a great day to stay indoors nestled in with a cup of hot cocoa....mmm....
Today I have a few different projects and cards to share with you! A couple of weeks ago, I began using Leigh Ann Baird's templates. They are so fun and easy to create with!! I was so excited when she asked me to join her team!!! Thanks Leigh Ann! I am so excited to be working with you and your talented team!
Anywho.....today Leigh Ann is having a new release of four different templates!! Each of the team members will displaying a different template. Today I will be sharing the cute carton template. I did both a mini and a bigger cute carton. These templates come as a set.
The sentiment on the carton above is from Our Daily Bread Designs Nest to be release on Febraury 1st. The little nest is from He is my Refuge also from ODBD's upcoming releases. The paper is NEW from Basic Grey's Origins! The bird flying image is a punch from Martha Stewart. The ribbon is soft suede from Stampin Up. This template was super fun to create with and only takes one sheet of paper. The template does not have a circle on it but I thought it would be fun to see the goodies inside so I used a spellbinders die and created a circle opening that I covered with transparency film. I filled the carton with Gourmet Jelly Eggs. This carton can really hold more than you think too!
Recipe:
Template: Leigh Ann Bairds smaller version included in the Cute Carton Template
Stamps: Our Daily bread Designs sneak peaks to be released February 1: Nest, He is my Refuge(for little nest)
Paper: Basic Grey Origins, White, Bitter Chocolate Bazill
Accessories: Spanish moss, MS bird punch, Circle Nestabilities, SU Soft Suede Ribbon, transparency, cropodile, Cuttlebug Vintage folder
This cute carton uses the sneak peak of He Is my Refuge from Our Daily Bread Designs. I am so
loving all the different birds Kelley is coming out with at ODBD. They are so fun to color!! I colored the image with Prisma Color Pencils and gamsol, cut it our, popped it up on dimensionals and adhered it on a dry embossed nesties circle which I embossed with the Cuttlebug Vintage folder. The dp is from Making Memories Black Tie.
Large carton Recipe:

This card is super CAS for me....but I really have begun a lot of white on cards. I just think it looks so clean and elegant that way. The cardinal and sentiment is a sneak peak of the Sing For Joy Set from Our Daily Bread Designs.
The trim around the edge of the oval is glittered. The image is colored with copics. The cardinal and pinecones are cut out and propped up on dimensionals.
Card Recipe:
Stamps: Our Daily Bread Designs: Sing for Joy
Paper: Neenah Solar White CS, Black CS
Accessories: EK Success border punch, Oval nestabilities, paper piercer, red grosgrain ribbon, silver baubles, Cuttlebug Vintage folder

Good Morning!! Happy Hump Day!! Can you believe how fast the time is going?! I can't believe half the week is half way finished already or better yet that we are almost done with the first month of 2010. Where does the time go?!
Well since it is half way through the week and it is Wednesday, it is time for another Flutter By Wednesday Challenge....
Our challenge this week is an open challenge, just be sure to have a butterfly, fairy or angel on your creations!
Leave a direct link to your creation in Mister Linky at the Flutter By Wednesday blog. If you upload to SCS or PCP, please use the keyword, FBW.We can't wait to see what YOU create!!
My Take on the Flutter By Wednesday Challenge....
I made this card for TLC257 Side steppin Challenge and the Crazy 4 challenges challenge-to use pink. I used Lili's Stuffed Bunny from Inky Impressions and the new specialty designer paper from SU- Sending Love. The flowers are fabric flower stickers from Martha Stewart. I plan on using this as a birthday invitation to my girl's birthday party. One of the first times I am way ahead of the game...The girls birthday's are a ways off. The girls want to have a pajama party but it won't be a sleepover... These invites will not have to be mailed out, just handed to.... The butterly is created with the Butterfly Sizzix die from SU and the Priceless flourish. The image is watercolored and popped up on dimensionals.
Card Recipe:
stamps: Inky Impressions: Lili's stuffed bunny,
SU Priceless Paper: Pink Pirouette, Bazill Bitter Chocolate, Sending Love
Accessories: MS flowers and punches, SU Sizzix butterfly die

My take on the sketch:
Here is the image that I spoke about which is sneak peak of a new release called Sing For Joy from Our Daily Bread Designs! I am so loving these new releases for February. This has got to be one of my faves for sure!! The sentiment also one of my faves from the He is My Refuge set. It has been a while since I have created a shaker card so I thought this sketch and image would work well with one. The image is colored with copics. The sky is sponged. The filler on the inside of the shaker is little clear beads. The designer paper was sent to me by Kelley, ODBD owner, in December which I was hoarding for just the right card. I just thought this would work perfectly! This paper is glittered and gorgeous. You can find this Frosty Snowflake dp from SEI here. The dry embossing on the background layer is using the snowflakes folder.
Card Recipe:
Stamps: Our Daily Bread Designs New Release for Feb 1-Sing for Joy- Image, He Watches me- Sentiment.
Paper: Frosty Snowflake dp from SEI, Blue Bayou, white (Neenah Solar White)
Accessories: Vintage corners die from Cuttlebug, Snowflake Stickers from K&Co., blue gems, Snowflake embossing folder from Cuttlebug
Challenges:
Pixie Dust Studio - Glitter and sparkle,
Raise The Bar - The gift that keeps on giving - use anything someone has given you-paper from Kelley

Happy Monday everyone!! I hope you all had a great weekend!! I know I did. I did not do much in the way of crafting....unfortunately I fell down our basement stairs on Thursday and was in a lot of pain especially the day after the fall. I am so thankful that I was not more seriously hurt and just sore. That is a true blessing!! Yesterday our family enjoyed a much needed relaxing day with our friends. We had a great time together.
Anywho..although I am crafting much more slowly than I would like, I have a few things to share with you.
The first card is one that I created for Splitcoast Stampers IC216 challenge and Thursday's WT254 challenge (cut out), and Stampin Sisters in Christ: (For this challenge, since most seeds come up as tiny green shoots, use the color green somewhere in your creation, not all over green, just a touch somewhere). I was inspired by wall paper http://www.echodesign.com/Product/de...9&crid=606 and I thought the dp in my background was similar.
The image is a sneak peak of a new February 1 release from Our Daily Bread Designs: He Watches Over Me. I just love the four new releases that are coming in February!!! The dp is Nook an Pantry from Basic Grey.
stamps: Our Daily Bread Designs: He Watches over Me
Paper: Basic Grey Nook and Pantry
Accessories: Fleur De Lis Spellbinders Die, circle spellbinders die, teal satin ribbon, copics
Verse for which the challenge at Stampin Sisters in Christ was based on:
1 Peter 1:23 (NIV) "For you have been born again, not of perishable seed, but of imperishable, through the living and enduring word of God."
*************************************
The second card set I created is one that I created for Friday's Sketchers Sketch Challenge #86 and Practical Scrappers (to use patterned paper). My image is from my dear friend and dt sister Lacey's store Stamp and Create. I is called Carrot Bunny set from My Heart Stamps for You. You can find this stamp in Lacey's store here.
Card Recipe:
Stamps: My Heart Stamps for you-Carrot Bunny set- from Stamp And Create
Paper: Memory Box-Sabrina, Black and white CS
Accessories: BossKut Flourish Die, Martha Stewart fabric flower stickers, MS pearl, sewing machine
When I was making this card, I thought it would be fun to making a matching carrot treat box. I found the template here. I used the same stampset from Lacey's store and My Mind's Eye Bloom and Grow DP. I dyed the raffia in hunter green.
Thanks for stopping by today!! I hope you enjoy my creations and that you have time to create!! The weather is awful here (torrential rain and wind) so I will be staying here for sure to blog hop, craft and teach my girls. Have a great day!
hugs,
Chris

This is my second post of the day, if you are here for the Our Daily Bread Designs Challenge Team Blog Hop You are in the right place, for the Saturday Spotlight challenge, please scroll down to the next post.
Hi Everyone!! The day has finally arrived for the reveal of our new Challenge Team at Our Daily Bread Designs!!! We decided to introduce the new team with a hop/Scavenger Hunt. If you came here from America Kuhn- Cards By America you are in the right place, if not you may want to start at the beginning, at the Our Daily Bread Designs Blog. I am so excited to have been asked to be a part of this new venture with Our Daily Bread Designs as the Challenge Team Coordinator and work with this wonderfully talented team. What an honor to do to things I love: stamp and share my Love for the Lord!!
One blessed hopper who emails me the correct items and places to find these items will randomly be chosen to win the Light of the World stamp set!!!
Here is what you need to find on the blogs for the scavenger Hunt:
1. red ric rac
2. Psalm 28:7
3. mittens
4. damask
5. palm trees
6. daisies
7. polka dotted tea pot
(please note all items are on sidebars or heading bars and backgrounds, not in the posts themselves).
Here is the list of the challenge team members who will be participating in the Blog Hop and where the items for the scavenger hunt will be found.
Christine Okken- ChristineCreations
Natalie Dever- Dougnat Diaries
Francie Gumprecht- Francies Fancy
Sabrina Jackson- SJButterfly Dreams

Chris Olsen- Twinkles Glow With Stamps
If you find missing links, simply check back here for the next person in the list and mention in your comment that you were not able to comment on that person's post. This is meant to be FUN FOR ALL.... NOT frustration! It's a game with a chance to win a Light Of the World Stamp set... and we understand if someone's blog is "down". Often you can try again later and get on... but if you try and can't leave a comment on someone's blog, simply tell us in your end comment who you were not able to get and we'll still enter you in the drawing!
All you have to do to be eligible to win is:
When I made this card/calendar, I had in mind family members who are near and dear to my heart who have been going through a very difficult time. I wanted them to know that I was thinking of them. Since their hardship will end at a certain time in their life, this gives the opportunity to count down to the end. I hope this gives them peace. The image and verse is from the Light of the World Stamp set and the sentiment tag is from Praying for You. The calendar pages I printed off the internet. I wanted to keep it fairly simple and not girly since it is for a couple.
Stamps: Our Daily Bread Designs: Praying for you, Light Of the World
Paper: Basic Grey Marrakech, Bitter chocolate Bazill, white, SU Pacific Point
Accessories: Swirls Embossing Folder, sewing machine, Circle Spellbinder Dies, blue gems, Pacific Point Ribbon
I hope you enjoyed this creation and the hop. You are at the end and only need go to the Our Daily Bread Designs Blog, leave a comment that you have visited each of the team members and email me at chrisolsenodbd@aol.com with the names of the items and the blogs you found them at.
Thanks for stopping by and for all your comments. They are greatly appreciated. We hope to see you at our first weekly challenge on February 6 at the Our Daily Bread Designs Blog.
Please scroll down to my next post for the Saturday Spotlight Challenge.

Patter Cross- Triple the Scraps
America Kuhn- Cards By America
Chris Olsen- Twinkles Glow With Stamps
If you find missing links, simply check back here for the next person in the list and mention in your comment that you were not able to comment on that person's post. This is meant to be FUN FOR ALL.... NOT frustration! It's a game with a chance to win a Light Of the World Stamp set... and we understand if someone's blog is "down". Often you can try again later and get on... but if you try and can't leave a comment on someone's blog, simply tell us in your end comment who you were not able to get and we'll still enter you in the drawing!
All you have to do to be eligible to win is:
- Complete the hop, leaving comments on each blog and returning here to tell us you have visited each blog and left a comment.
- Email me at chrisolsenodbd@aol.com with the names of the items and the blogs you found them at. (eg. Kelley-loaf of bread)
- Do this by Thursday Jan 28 at 8 p.m. EST
- Check back on the Our Daily Bread designs blog on Saturday January 30 to see who the winner is!!!

Happy Saturday Everyone!! It is the weekend and the Spotlight Challenge Team once to start it out with another fun challenge!!!
For this week's challenge.....
The Spotlight Divas would like to challenge you to LET THE SUNSHINE IN!! We thought this week we would ask you to get out your bright colors or use mostly "yellow" or monochromatic yellow for your creations this week!
**One lucky winner who participates in the challenge this week will be randomly chosen to receive 3 images from the store!! How cool is that?!**Here is my creation for this challenge:
I used the Bloomin Beautiful stampset from SU. I inked it up on watercolor paper, colored it with crushed curry so saffron, and old olive, cut it out and mounted it on dimensionals. I just love the look of the bright white embossed background so I paired it with my yellow. The embossing folders are Victoria and Swiss Dots.
Thanks for stopping by. I hope you are inspired by my creation to join this week's challenge. For more inspiration, please visit my dt sisters:

Happy Friday Everyone!! The weekend is upon us!! This weekend we have a lot of exciting things planned. First, at my blog, is the Saturday Spotlight Challenge and then the Our Daily Bread Designs Challenge Team Hop tomorrow!! You won't want to miss out on the fun so I hope to see you back! This weekend our family will have the opportunity to spend some time with our group of friends. It has been a few months since we have been all together so it is something we are all looking forward to!!
Well on to today's Wags n Whiskers Challenge!! This week's challenge is hosted by the amazingly talented Crissy Armstrong, the illustrator of Wags n Whiskers Stamps. Her challenge this week is To Be INSPIRED, case someone else's creation and leave a link to the person you have cased. We only ask that you use a Wags n Whiskers image for your creation.
I had a fun time with this challenge. I have so many people I admire or creations I would just love to case. For this challenge, I decided to case my incredibly talented dt sister and dear friend Nikki from Bunny Zoe. When I first saw this mailbox she made in December with her New Releases, I just knew I wanted to case her at some point... well today is my opportunity to share my case creation!! I changed my colors and some of my design but kept the mailbox theme and the same image, With Love (from Wags n Whiskers).
I am so sorry for the lighting of this picture, I really struggle getting a good photo of all the white! The image is colored with Prisma Color Pencils and Gamsol. The paper is from Best Present Co. All the ribbon is from May Arts.
I hope you enjoyed my creation. For more inspiration for this challenge, please visit my dt sisters:
Sharon, Nikki, Lacey, Jacqui, Michele, Karen, Inge, Tina, Jeanette, Crissy Armstrong
Thanks for stopping by today!! If you decide to create a project or card for this creation, please link it to Mr. Linky at the Wags N Whiskers Blog
blessings,
Chris

I am so excited to be giving you an early sneak peek at one of the FOUR new sets being released Feb 1 by Our Daily Bread designs! This set is called "Nest". I just love it! It is perfect for a house warming, welcome to your new home, or just every day occasions from our nest to yours! The image is fun to color and it has great sentiments!
I made this card for Yesterday's Way to use it Challenge (cut it out), Wednesday's sketch SC264, and the Stamping Sister's in Christ Challenge22 this week which was to focus on the home ( whether it be make a welcome to your new home card or decor for the home). It was based on Joshua 24:15 "As for me and my house, we will serve the Lord". With all the struggles we face, I can't imagine not having Him to lean on!
I apologize for this darker photo, when the sun comes out I will replace it with a new one.
Stamps: Our Daily Bread Designs: Nest (to be release on Feb 1)
Paper: Parisian Breeze, Baja Breeze, Bitter Chocolate, White
Accessories: Butterfly charm, Victoria Embossing Folder, sewing Machine, Grosgrain stitched Ribbon
Thanks for stopping by and for your sweet comments! I hope you have enjoyed my creations! Have a great day!!

Happy Thursday Everyone!! I hope you are all having a great week. Thanks for all your emails and well wishes the last few days. You are all so sweet and I truly appreciate your thinking or praying for me. I am doing o.k. and I seem to be improving. Unfortunately I have chronic digestive issues and it is something I have to deal with. Sometimes are just worse than others. I am not at all complaining...I am so thankful for the health I do have...so many have much worse. God is good...
Well today is Divine Diva Challenge day and Lori sent us this photo....I was inspired by the roses and colors in the teacups and saucers and created this set:
I plan on sending this set to a friend for her Birthday. The little box is going to have stamping goodies in it.
The easel card is created using the Noah's Ark and Happy Birthday Stamp sets from Our Daily Bread Designs. The paper is from SU Bella Rose. I love this paper and I just thought it matched perfectly with today's challenge! I used the Mojo Sketch for this week for the layout but added the corners and the pearls for some added interest.
Card Recipe:
Stamps: Our Daily Bread Designs: Noah's Ark, Happy Birthday
Paper: Bazill Bitter Chocolate, SU Bella Rose
Accessories: ZVA Creative flourish Pearls, ZVA Creative flower pearls, MS Pearls, May Arts Satin Ribbon, Vintage corner dies, sewing machine, Oval Nestabilities
The template for the treat box is from these awesome new templates that the fabulous Leigh Ann Baird~Stamping with Annie B~ started creating. They are so fun to create with!!! I used Leigh Ann's template Bag It Up! On Monday I posted another one of these boxes using this same template but it had handles. The template can be used with or without handles. The stamps used for this box is the SU A Rose is a Rose.Little Box Recipe:

Happy Hump Day Everyone!! I can't believe it is Wednesday already!! It is time for another Flutter By Wednesday and Inky Impression Challenge!! But first I want to say Happy Birthday to dear and special people in my life: Grace, my sister in law and Grace Nywening my dear dt sister and friend!!! Happy Birthday Grace!!!!!! If you have a chance, please leave Grace a birthday wish at her blog!!
First, I would like to thank everyone for their visits and comments on last week's Flutter By Wednesday. Since I was one of the team members who had a butterfly and mini blog candy on my blog, I get to display my candy today and announce my winner.
And the winner is.....
#37
Shirley N said..." Great card Chris, you really rocked those challenges!" Congrats Shirley, please email me your address so I can send your goodies out to you!
And now on to this week's challenges. This week's Flutter by challenge is to use embossing along with a butterfly, fairy or Angel.
Since today is also an Inky Impressions challenge, to use hearts and pink and an Inky Impressions Stamp, I combined the two and came up with this purse using Leigh Ann Baird's little bag template and Angelica's Bunny Hugs. This past week it was my 7 year old daughter's best friend's birthday so I made this for her to give to her. My image is water colored and cut out. I also incorporated these challenges:
All Sorts - use pink and brown
Stamp, Scrap, and Doodle Saturdays - girly
Raise The Bar - debut a new (never been used or opened item) on your card - I used the template from Leigh Ann Baird that I have never used before.
After I cut out the template I embossed it with the Floral Fantasy embossing folder. The dp is leftover scraps but I think it is SEI.
I hope you enjoyed seeing my little bag and you too are inspired to join us at Inky Impressions to create a card or project with a heart, pink and an Inky Impressions Image (If so leave a direct link here before Feb 2, this challenge is for two weeks.)
For more inspiration, please visit my dt sisters:
