Happy Thanksgiving to all in the USA!! I hope everyone is well. I am in Virginia right now and this post was prescheduled.

I saw the Stampin Sisters in Christ challenge to create a Thanksgiving or a card expressing thanks and new I had to use this ODBD sneak Peek His Gift sentiment : "Thanks be to God for His indescribable gift! 2 Cor. 9:15. The poinsettias are from the Blessed Christmas stampset that I stamped on Ski Slope dp from Stampin UP (all the dp is from this package). The sentiment tag on the card front and the overstamped snowflakes are from the upcoming release: Peace and Joy from Our Daily Bread Designs. The sentiment on the bottom panel with the verse is from the ODBD upcoming December release: His Gift.

card recipe:

Stampsets: Our Daily Bread Designs: Blessed Christmas, HIs Gift (upcoming Dec. release sneak peek) Peae and Joy (upcoming Dec. release sneak peek)

Paper: Baja Breeze SU, Bitter Chocolate, Ski Slope (SU Retired)

Accessories: Silver Baubles, American Crafts ribbon, hodgepodge hardware, Labels 4 Spellbinders, sewing machine, k&co. Glitter Paper (brown)

Thanks for stopping by!! I hope you have a great day and turkey day for those in the USA! I will be back tomorrow!! I hope that I can surf your blogs since my sister in law has a working computer!!!

Happy Hump Day!!! It is almost the weekend for everyone but tomorrow is Thanksgiving in the USA. I hope you all are ready for the upcoming holiday weekend in the USA!! I know I am so ready for my visit with my sister and brother in law!!! It will be an 11 hour trip but oh so worth it. We always have such a great time together!!

Anywho.... on today's Flutter By Wednesday and Inky Impressions Challenge. I again combined the two challenges on one project. The Inky Impressions Challenge was to create a gift bag (you do not need to use an Inky Impressions stamp, but if you have one we would love to see it!!). The Flutter By Wednesday Challenge was to use circles and incorporate a butterfly, angel or fairy on your creation. My snowflakes I considered to be my circles.

I created a scene using the Angelica's snowman and Angelica's Sled from Inky Impressions. I colored them with gamsol magic and made them 3D. The snow along the bottom is created with paper and liquid applique. Stickles was added for some shimmer on the already glistening bag I created. The border on the top of the bag is created with the Martha Stewart Snowflake punch.

Happy Saturday!!! I am so thankful to Joanne for allowing me the opportunity to use her computer to post. It looks like my computer has a severe virus and had to go to the computer doctor. I took it to Best Buy and they estimate that I won't get it back until after Thanksgiving weekend (November 30). EEEEK!!!

Anywho... enough about my woes.....on to today's Saturday Spotlight Challenge. This week's challenge is to create an ornament or a card with an ornament on it. It is indeed a fun challenge!!!!

While the Cutting Cafe, supplied the design team with digis for this challenge, I was unable to access them without a computer. Instead I used an adorable image from Inky Impressions called Angelica's Lantern.
I colored her with water color distress inks. The snowflake background is actually a plain metallic snowflake ornament I purchased from Target for $.50. I also used my Spellbinders pendant on metallic silver paper for one of the layers. While it is hard to see in the photo, I added some white yarn for texture as well as silver baubles.
I hope you enjoyed my creation!! For more inspiration for this challenge, please visit my dt sisters:

Happy Friday!! Today is the new Challenge for Wags n Whiskers. Today's challenge is to create a card using buttons. My card is using the Ride Em Ryan image from Wags N Whiskers. I saw several posts about a little boy named Noah who is suffering with an illness and has only a few weeks to live. His family is celebrating Christmas now and Noah's wish is to receive several Christmas cards. I hope he likes this easel card. I colored it with Prisma color pencils and gamsol. The dp is from SU Ski Slope (retired from last year) and the Parisian Breeze Testured Dp from SU (also retired). The background of the image is dry embossed using the Distressed stripes folder.

If you would like to join us in this Wags N Whiskers Challenge, just add buttons to a creation with a Wags n Whiskers stamp. If you don't have a Wags n Whiskers stamp yet, then click here and click the link at the top right corner on the sidebar. The images really are too cute for words!!!!

Should you create a card or project for this challenge, please leave a direct link here. For more inspiration, see the my other dt sisters for some REAL inspiration here.

Thanks so much for stopping by!! Have a great weekend!!!!

Good Morning!! I am back for a very brief post for the divine diva challenge.

Lori sent us each this image as our inspiration from the Pottery Barn. I was inspired by the colors, bowl of apples and the paneled wall.

I used the Fruit of the Spirit stamp set from Our Daily Bread Designs. I watercolored the image, made it 3d, embossed, and glittered it. The background is scored vertically to match the wall. I used a spellbinders for the ribbon treatment on the bottom.

For more inspiration, please visit my dt sisters:

The Divine Divas

I hope this creation inspires you to create a card or project for this challenge or just to create. If you do create something using this challenge, please leave a direect link in the comments on Lori's blog here. If you upload your creation, to SC or PCP, please use the keyword DDIC16.

Sorry about posting later than normal again, My computer is completely shutdown from a horrid virus and needs to go to Best Buy for repair. I was told I would not have it back for a week to 10 days. Ughhhhhhhh!!!! I am relying using a friend's computer for my posts and need to work around her schedule or thank goodness for my friend Grace who has been helping me with my posts. Grace, I do not know what I would do without you my friend.

I am trying to post as I am able and blog surf when friend's time allows. It is hard to work on someone elses schedule as well as my own. Thanks for your patience!!! I will be back tomorrow with the Wags n Whiskers Challenge.

Blessings,

Chris

Hello friends!
Just wanted to let you know that Danni's Flutter By Wednesday Challenge is still on... I am just posting a quick card that includes an angel for today's challenge.

This weeks challenge is open and you only need to make a card with a fairy, butterfly or angel. Should you create a card or project for this challenge, please leave a direct link on my linky here. The stampsets used are the Angel and Blessed Christmas sets from Our Daily Bread Designs.

The paper is also from Our Daily Breads SEI paper.

I made this shadow box for this week's Sisters in Christ Challenge which was to create a shadow box.

Thanks for stopping by. Sorry for my absence. I am so missing my computer. Right now it is deader than a doornail. I hope to get someone to look at it soon. Have had no success thus far. I guess it is a blessing in disguise though since my girls are sick with the H1N1 virus and it forces me to spend all my time with my girls.
Prayerfully I can get my computer fixed today and my girls feel better as well.

For more inspiration for today's Flutter By Wednesday Challenge, please visit my dt sisters on my sidebar.

Have a great day!!

Chris

Good Morning!!! I hope you are all having a great beginning to your weekend!!!

Lucky me, I have not had a wink of sleep due to two sick little girls. While they have symptoms of a cold, they also have a fever making them sick to their stomachs. I have decided to not even attempt to go back to bed until my husband is up for the day. I don't know about you but I get bad headaches and it gives me nausea when I am woken up from a sound sleep. Hopefully they get over being sick quickly and I don't get it. This came on rather suddenly.

Well today is Saturday and it is time for another Saturday Spotlight with Hidden Potential Challenge. We as a team had such a good time looking at all the creations submitted for the "repeatedly useful" challenge.

Now on to this week's Challenge:

This week's challenge is to use your own stamps to make a "masterboard" or your own designer paper to create several cards/projects at once (you only need to show us one creation that displays part of your masterboard). This is a great opportunity to make headway on your Christmas cards, completing several at once with one masterboard.

Each of the design team members was provided digi's by Digital Ink Co.
I, this weeks sponsor. The random winner this week will have the chance to choose three digital stamp sets from their store. I chose to use this penguin for a get well easel card. My Masterboard was created using the Snow Swirled Stamp set from SU. The snowflakes by the penguin are created using the Martha Stewart Border punch. The sentiment says: "Sorry you are feeling under the Weather." and "Feel Better Soon!" Their is no designer paper on this card. The cardstock is Pacific point dry embossed with the snowflakes folder. The snowflakes scattered are snowflake stickers from K and Co.

I hope you have enjoyed today's creation and that it inspires you to create a master board of your own for this challenge. For more inspiration, please visit my dt sisters:

Should you create a card or project with a master board, please:

Be sure to place the DIRECT link to your creation in Mister Linky below in order to qualify to win the prize from our sponsors or voting for the top 3 creations.
If you upload your creation to an on-line gallery, please be sure to label it with the keywords SSHP07. Please Link your creation back to the Saturday Spotlight Challenge blog.

Thanks so much for stopping by and for all your wonderful comments!! I so enjoy reading them all!!! Have a great weekend!!!

Are you ready for another challenge?
It's a new challenge at the Wags 'n Whiskers blog today.
This week Tina is our hostess and she has challenged us to Stitch 'em Up! You can use machine sewing, hand sewing, faux sewing, or even just piercing!
The only rule... you must use a Wags 'n Whiskers Rubber Stamp as your main image to be entered into the prize drawing.

If you don't have any Wags 'n Whiskers, then you are just going to want to go shopping here.

Since I love sewing with my machine and use it many of my creations, this was very easy for me. I decided to color this adorable image Angel Whispers with Tim Holtz Distress Inks cute it out use paper tole for dimension. I also added stickles to the angel wings and the butterflies but it is hard to see in the picture. The paper is from the Basic Grey Nook and Pantry pad. I just love this paper and can't wait to use it again soon!!! I also used the Martha Stewart fence punch and the Moracca Lace punch from EK Success. I distressed by paper with ink on the edges to give it an antiquated look. The is my second easel card!! They are so fun to make and I just love seeing the inside and outside at once. The sentiment says "Thanks for being my "furever" friend."

Here are the list of other challenges I worked on for this card as well:
My Grafico Challenge: stitching
Secret Crafter Challenge: create an Easel Card
Sophisticat Challenge #10- Wings
Inspiration Card Sketches Challenge- sketch
Crazy 4 Challenges: Easel Card
Kraftin Kimmie stamps: stitch it up
Flutter By Wednesday Challenge- to use a butterfly, fairy or angel on your card and show you are thankful
Cute Card Thursday- Glitter Me Silly- I did use glitter on the angel wings and butterflies but the photo sure does not show it.
Wags n Whiskers Challenge: Stitch It Up

I made this card for yesterday's sketch SC254 and Tuesday's CC244 Very Bravo Kraft. Since yesterday was Veteran's Day I wanted to make a card to send to a friend's son who is in Iraq, thanking him for serving our country. I saw the Stampin Sisters in Christ Challenge on Sunday with a challenge to say thanks and send a card to the troops but wanted to wait until Veteran's Day since I felt it was appropriate and fitting.

Candace shared this verse:

"Greater love has no one than this, that he lay down his life for his friends."

The challenge for this week at Stampin Sisters in Christ is to make a patriotic-themed card for a soldier and as a bonus, donate it to Operation Write Home, so that a soldier may be encouraged by your words of thanks.

Here is my creation:

stamps: Our Daily Bread Designs- In God We Trust, One Nation Under God, Doodles 3 Friendship
Paper: very vanilla CS, Basic Grey dp, craft, Bitter Chocolate
Accessories: ribbon, paper piercer, sewing machine, distressed stripes embossing folder

Sorry for the quick and late post. It has been an incredibly busy day and I would really love to take the time to visit your blogs. Hope you are having a great day!!

Chris

Before I begin my post, I would to just like to take a moment to remember Veterans Day and all the guys who fought and who are fighting for our country. We would not be who we are today without our troops. Thank you! Thanks also to all the families for the hardships they endure because their loved ones are in the service.

Now on for my take on today's challenges.....

Today's challenges were so much fun. I challenged myself to combine the Flutter By Wednesday and Inky Impressions challenges and create one project. I love how it turned out but my photo doesn't show what it looks like IRL!! I took 30 photos and still could not get the picture I wanted. Hate when that happens!!!

Today's challenge at Flutter By Wednesday is to create a card or project which shows thankfulness AND HAS A BUTTERFLY, ANGEL, or FAIRY on it.

This weeks challenge at Inky Impressions is to create an ornament or add an ornament to your card or project. Using Inky Impressions Stamp/Images is not required for this challenge but if you got them why not use them. This challenge is also part of a design team call they are having (more details to follow at the end of the post. If you are applying for the dt call this challenge must be completed by November 24th at Midnight Eastern Time.

Here is my take on both challenges:

I created a shaker ornament box that can be hung in the tree if you would like or just used as a gift. It does hang, although, I could not hang it for the purpose of this photo. I used the new release Angelica's Sled and Angelica's Pretty Gifts from Inky Impressions. The ornament hangs inside the box. It is a really glittery purple ornament that has a round pinecone type shape. In front of the ornament is my shaker snow to create my scene. I colored the image with prisma color pencils and gamsol and used paper tole for dimension. I also added Liquid Applique for snow and green/gold cording for the sled string. The dp is sewn in the background as well for some added elegance and detail. In case you are unable to spot my angel, it is a charm hanging from the snowflake.

On the tag coming off of the gifts, I created a tag that says thank you. this ornament is just one of many that I am creating for gifts at Christmas. I am Assistant Superintendent of Sunday School and I have 12 of these to create to give to the teacher's for Christmas as a way of saying thanks. I better get busy. One down and 11 to go. Ugh!

I hope this creation inspires you to create a card or project for either Inky Impressions or Flutter by Wednesday. Since this is a long post, here is a recap.

For Flutter by Wednesday, the challenge is to create a card or project with a fairy, butterfly or Angel on it that shows "thankfulness". If you should create for this challenge, leave a direct link here on Mr. Linky. If you upload your creation to Splitcoast or PCP, please use the keyword FBW. Here is this week's sketch!

....And here is my take on the sketch!

I used Michelle's fabulous Summer image on my card. I made it more of a Christmas type image using the Winter Wonderland paper from K & Co. I paper pieced her dress and colored the rest of the image with copics. Parts of the background are dry embossed with the soft swirls embossing folder. The triangle corner pieces are embossed with gold. The pearls are from ZVA Creative. I did lots of sewing. This image is truly different than my usual style and I struggled with how I wanted to use it but I think it turned out o.k. What do you think?

Happy Monday all!! I hope you all had a wonderful weekend!! This weekend was catch up for me. I completed all my homeschooling reports for the quarter. What a job! So glad that is no longer looming over my head. I also did such much needed catching up on housecleaning.....stamping is just so much more fun. I like order and cleanliness so I just had to dig in!!

We also found out why our basement has been flooding. Woohoo!! It can be easily corrected!!! No more flooding in my craft or laundry areas. Scott and I just could not figure out why after 11 years it was flooding. Yes we had access rain this year beyond belief but we sit up on a small nole and none of the neighbors had any issues. To make a long story short.....we discovered a root of a mulberry tree had grown 25 feet into our footing drain plugging up the entire pipe. All the water from the footing drain backed up the pipe, sat around our house and caused so much pressure that it came into the basement. Needless to say, we now have removed part of the footing drain, have a huge trench, and the mulberry tree will be cut down!! Glad it is a pretty inexpensive fix and there will be no more fuss over flooding!!

Yesterday I had hoped to stamp but came down with a migraine on Saturday night. Oh well...
I am feeling a tad bit better this morning. The card I am going to share with you is one I made last week using the WT242 Purple Pretties Challenge and SC252. I used the Luke 2:11 and Blessed Christmas from Our Daily Bread Designs which was released on November 1. The poinsettia is embossed in gold on Very vanilla paper and then painted with pearl glimmermist. The ribbon treatment is created with the lattice Spellbinders. The dp is one of my faves from BG-Wisteria.

Stamps: Our Daily Bread Designs- Luke 2:11, Blessed Christmas
Paper: Purple Glitter Paper from K&Co., BG Wisteria Paper, Vanilla
Accessories: ZVA Creative pearls, gold embossing powder, American Crafts Gold Ribbon, Lattice Border Spellbinders, Hero Arts Pearls

I just came back to edit this post since I just was blog hopping and visited my friend Kathy's (Inspired to stamp) blog. She left me a similar award to the one I just passed on to her with the exact same questions, so in order to not be redundant, I am posting a picture of the award and passing it on to 5 more bloggers. Thanks so much for the award Kathy!! Too funny that we would think of each other. You always put a smile on my face with your kindness and your exceptional creations and talent!! If you have not visited Kathy or Cheryl's blog you really should!!

Thank you so much to everyone for playing along with us!

Please CLICK HERE to go to their website!

Cheryl has generously donated a $15.00 gift certificate in shopping bucks to spend on-line to our lucky challenge winner for this week!! So start getting "Repeatedly Useful" today!

Now, are you ready to see my take on the Spotlight Diva Challenge?
I used my newest release stamps from Our Daily Bread Designs: Luke 2:11 , Creative Card Crew Challenge to use ribbons and gems, Mojo 111 sketch! I stamped and restamped the poinsettia image 9 times, twice for the gold and ivory 3d flower and 7 times to create the border around my sentiment. I embossed the 3d flower with gold embossing powder and painted it with pearl glimmermist for added shimmer.

(Which reminds me to remind you as well about the "November Our Daily Bread Design Team Challenge... "Show Us the Shimmer that is going on until November 15! You don't have to use Our Daily Bread Designs stamps to play, although we would love to see you use them if you have them...and you have a chance to win a $30 credit to the store. So what are you waiting for...let us see the shimmer. Tee hee! Leave a direct link to your creation Here.)

The paper I used was from Basic Grey's Boxer line! I never realized how much I would like the olive green, ivory and gold together. I will definitely use that color combo again! Part of the background is embossed with the Fleur De Lis embossing folder. My card was sewn in spots with ivory thread.

Card Recipe:
Stamps: Our Daily Bread Design: Luke 2:11
Paper: BG Boxer, Olive Bazzill, Very Vanilla, K&Co. Glitter Paper
Accessories: Ivory lace trim, Hero Arts Pearls, American Crafts Ribbon
And now that you've seen my creation, let's see how YOU can be repeatedly useful!!

Be sure to place the DIRECT link to your NEW creation in Mister Linky in order to qualify to win the prize from our sponsors or voting for the top 3 creations. (If you do NOT post a direct link, you will have to be removed from Mister Linky.)
