ODBD Bread Basket

Saturday, May 2, 2009
Happy Saturday!! I have a lot to share with you today. The Bread basket (design team) from Our Daily Bread Designs is loving the new releases this month!! I hope you have had a chance to check them out at the ODBD store and/or the blogs of my fellow Bread basket Team sisters (on my sidebar). Today the team has a special treat for you, a SKETCH Challenge!!!!

Here is how to play along:
1. Use the sketch below, create a project that reflects your personal style.
2. Use stamps from any stamp company or as many embellishments as you would like. You may use any colors and papers as well.
3. Submit your project by linking to the ODBD Blog in the comment section. If you upload to SCS as well, please use both of these keywords: ODBD, ODBDSC03.
This challenge will officially enda t noon CST on Friday May 15th.
AND NOW FOR THE PRIZES!!!! Kelley is so generous and she is giving not one but four prizes!!! Thanks Kelley!!
Three winners will be chosen Friday night and each will receive on of the new releases. TO BE ELIGIBLE TO WIN ONE OF THE NEW SETS, YOU MUST USE THE ODBD STAMPS IN YOUR SKETCH. Winners will be announced here the morning of May 16th.
ONE MORE WINNER will be chosen from those using non-ODBD stamps, and this winner will receive a beautiful bottle of Shimmerz, one of the Bread Baskets favorite products.
We hope you will play along wit the dt!!! For more info. and and marvelous sample by Sandee, click here.
Here is my sample of the sketch featuring several of the new products from Our Daily Bread Designs. This card uses the designer paper SEI-Windsor (all the paper but the Bazzil Bitter Chocolate abd watercolor paper is from this pad), Hero Arts Pearls, Suede and Gold Irredescent Glimmermist (on the flourishes on either side of the image), and the In God We Trust new release! I watercolored the image on watercolor paper and used my oval nestabilities to cut it out and frame it. The flourishes are die cuts from K&Co. that I sprayed with suede and gold irredescent glimmermist. As one of my dt sisters said, it almost gives it a leathery appearance. Please note that Michael's does carry the SEI- Windsor paper in a 12x12 pad but it is not nearly as beautiful. I don't know why, but it only has a few foiled pages where this one has several and the papers are more faded and not as vibrant. This paper is so elegant!!
Stamps: Our Daily Bread Designs- In God We Trust
Paper: SEI-Windsor, Bazzill Bitter Chocolate
Accessories: pearls, glimmermist, K&Co. flourish diecuts, EK Success Punch, sewing machine, and SU Markers for watercoloring. For more inspiration, several of my team mates have posted an example of their challenge cards as well.
All of the creations are so diverse, fun and downright gorgeous!!! Hope you have a chance to hop on over to the blogs of these talented girls!! Their creations never cease to amaze me!!!
High Hopes Challenge #28
This doorhanger was made for three challenges: High Hope Challenge #28 to make anything but a card, IC178 inspired by this dress, and LSC218 to use a stamp or stamps to create a border. I used the dragon with flower stamp from High Hopes and the Friendship Blooms from SU. The DP is SU Bella Birds. I typed out the letters on the computer and punched them out with my nestabitlies.
I created this doorhanger for my two princesses who are my biggest fans and who love to tape welcome signs to their bedroom door. I thought they would like this. On the other side I plan to make an image of a pig and type "Welcome to the pig sty....enter at your own risk" Tee hee! Only kidding although it could be done. I am trying to teach my girls to pick them up for themselves instead of me doing it for them. NOT EASY!!
Well, I hope you enjoyed today's post. I plan to visit your blogs this p.m. but right now the sun is shining and my dear hubby, Scott, is encouraging me to get off the computer and stop crafting, and get out and weed the garden Since my computer shut down several times while just trying to leave this post, I will glady not surf on it anymore (for a few hours atleast)!!! Off to the garden I go!!
Thanks for stopping by and for your comments!!

Chris... I made the corners on my hedgie card by using my SU border scallop punch. I just stuck the corner in the punch between two scallops. There is a tutorial on SCS. I will find it and forward it to you...LOL. Now you got two comments from me.. Hugs..
