ODBD Bread Basket

Tuesday, November 8, 2016
Hello Friends!! I hope this post finds you all well.
For many in the USA this is a big day and feel the elections can make a huge difference in this country.  While I will share some words about my thoughts (not my political views!!) later in this post, I want to share a card I created for the Shining the Light Challenge at ODBD first.

This weeks challenge (ODBDSLC280) is a sketch!  For my creation I used the new Merry and Bright Stamp set, the Snow Crystals die, Christmas lights die, and the Snowflake Season Paper Collection as well as the previously released Double Stitched Rectangles, Pierced Circles and Circles dies.

Our Daily Bread Designs, Merry and Bright, Snowflake Season Paper collection, Snowflake Crystals Dies, Double Stitched Rectangles, Pierced Circles dies, Circles dies, designed by Chris Olsen

We would love to see you join us for this challenge!! You have until Sunday, November 27th to join us!!  You can link your creations here at the ODBD blog. Remember you can use any stamps for your first entry but any additional entries for  the challenge must use ODBD, Artistic Outpost or Northcoast Creations stamps)

For more inspiration, please visit my dt sisters: Diana, Robin, and Julie.

No on to my thoughts for today....

For many in the USA we are all awaiting with baited breath over the results of today's presidential election.  It seems like the life of the USA as we know it is all resting on it's outcome.  All who rest in Him and trust in God's providence know, however, while the future of our country rests on events here on earth, God is in control and will allow what occurs.  I am sure I will have to remind myself of this tonight as I watch the news as well.

37Who is there who speaksand it comes to pass, Unless the Lord has commanded it? 38Is it not from the mouth of the Most High That both good and ill go forth?…
Lamentations 3:37, 38

Thanks so much for your visits and comments!!  I so appreciate your support and all the love shared.  Have a blessed day!

blessings,

Oh Chris I too pray fir your land fir truly we live in times where men are lovers of their own selves rather than of their God Who made them, may he overrule in all things.
Wonderful card, lovely share of the sketch. I'm not a sketch person as rule or even good on colour challenges, unless I happen to remember before I make my card. Doesn't happen often enough though... 😊
Thanks for popping over and for sharing,

Your color scheme is so regal! I love it! And your thoughts for today is so on target. No matter what, God is sovereign.

Thank you Chris for the reminder that God is the one in control. He has a plan and that plan will not be destroyed by man.
I love your card. Is that gold embossing, gold ink, or gold paper? I'm kind of a newb to card making.

Chris, what a gorgeous card! I love the beautiful dies and this lovely paper, and the gold is stunning along with the black! Beautifully done as always, precious friend! Yes, may we always remember that God is in control and never surprised by anything that happens. Much love and hugs!

I am concerned the way our country is heading in the wrong direction, I pray we won't hit bottom until we realize God needs to be the center of our lives!
