Hi All!! The summer is just flying by!! Yikes! Where does the time go! I know where mine has gone...my graduate classes. LOL! Only two more weeks to go until they are complete!! In three weeks school starts again!! Only one week of vacation this year....oh well, I am enjoying the flowers and the summer weather and even got to enjoy a wonderful week with family!!!
Speaking of flowers... Today I am popping in to share a card I created for this month's Shining the Light challenge at ODBD: Anything that Grows with ODBD.
ODBD Stamps Used: A True Friend
ODBD Dies Used: Bitty Borders, Layered Lacey Ovals, Ornate Ovals, Beautiful Borders, Pierced Rectangles, Vintage Flourish Pattern
The white background behind the flowers has just a bit of texture. I lightly embossed the Vintage Flourish Pattern die into the background. It is much more noticeable in person but you can slightly see it in the photo. I used a mask to create a background of flowers using the Bearded Iris from A True Friend. The last flower is cut out and layered on dimensionals.
For more samples for the ODBD Challenge, Please see my dt sisters: Diana and Robin.
Today we mourn and pray for our brothers and sisters in France—for those who lost loved ones in last week's terrort attacks, and for the millions of French citizens who must now try to process this brutality. So many around the world are mourning loss due to recent terror attacks both in the USA and abroad!!
One of the oldest and toughest challenges facing Christians today is finding a way to understand the existence of the terrible evil in a world that is ruled by a loving, all-powerful God. It’s not an easy question to answer—if it were, we wouldn’t be struggling with it thousands of years after Christ—but God does offer hope in the face of violence and evil.
Unfortunately God has not made us robots that just do what is asked of us but rather gives us Free Will to make a choice. The offenders are choosing evil. Unfortunately, this happens in ever increasingly sinful world!!
May God bless you and keep you! Thanks so much for stopping by and for your comments.

Scripture of Comfort:
The sufferings we have now are nothing compared to the great glory that will be shown to us. Everything God made is waiting with excitement for God to show his children’s glory completely. Everything God made was changed to become useless, not by its own wish but because God wanted it and because all along there was this hope: that everything God made would be set free from ruin to have the freedom and glory that belong to God’s children.
We know that everything God made has been waiting until now in pain, like a woman ready to give birth. Not only the world, but we also have been waiting with pain inside us. We have the Spirit as the first part of God’s promise. So we are waiting for God to finish making us his own children, which means our bodies will be made free. We were saved, and we have this hope. If we see what we are waiting for, that is not really hope. People do not hope for something they already have. But we are hoping for something we do not have yet, and we are waiting for it patiently. — Romans 8:18-25

Beautiful blue for your irises Chris!! I love the two together and the dies you used are so pretty! I love the two layers for your sentiment, that looks sooo good! Beautiful my sweet friend!
I LOVE your message of hope today, it IS such an evil world and I am so glad we have God to go to and the hope of His salvation! Wonderful message to all of us, thank you!
Chris, what a GORGEOUS card with these fabulous irises! They are stunning, and I love how you've popped one to give it such dimension. And beautiful dies with the added gold and (of course) your stunning ribbon bow that really dresses it all up perfectly. Love it all, precious friend! Ah, yes, the world is truly a place that is not our home and is so in need of our prayers. What a beautiful passage of Scripture to remind us of the beautiful words of comfort. May we continue to live with our eyes on our true home with Him in heaven. Hugs, sweet friend!
What a pretty card. It does look like it could be from a garden. TFS!
