Merry Christmas Dear Friends!!!  I can't believe after all this preparation and busyness, Christmas is here tomorrow!! May God bless you with a wonderful and blessed Christmas as you celebrate our Savior's birth!!

While they were there, the time came for the baby to be born, and she gave birth to her firstborn, a son. She wrapped him in cloths and placed him in a manger, because there was no room for them in the inn. — Luke 2:6-7

Jesus entered our world in the most normal of ways for a child: the time came, his mother gave birth, he was wrapped in soft cloth, and placed in a crib. Only this was the Son of God who was born. His crib was a corncrib where animals ate, not a baby's crib. His room was a stable because there was no room for him. It wasn't just normal; it was common, even below average conditions for his birth. Can you imagine? The Holy God who created everything enters our world as a baby to share our way of life as one of us. Why? He loves us and wants us to come home to him. Incredible! Incredible story. Incredible love. Incredible God! What Amazing Grace!!!

Hello friends!  I hope you are having a wonderful week!

Today we, the "bread basket", are taking a look back at Our Daily Bread Designs  December Release.  I am sharing a gift box I created using the Ornate Border Sentiments and the Ornate Borders and Flowers stamp set.  The flower is cut out with the Ornate Borders and flowers dies.  Since I have made several cards with these sets already, I thought it would be fun to show the versatility of these stamps for giftsets as well.

The box uses the template from My Time Made Easy for a tea tabbed box (I omitted the opening for tea).  The designer paper is from Bo Bunny Snowfall collections.

The flower is embossed in pearl, sponges with soft sky and baja breeze and cut out with the custom Ornate Borders and Flowers die.  It is then layered on a white panel embossed with Provocraft swiss dots and cut out with the Spellbinders Classic Circles dies.  The bottom layer of the circle is soft suede and it is cut out with the Spellbinders Lacey Circles die.

The edge of the box is decorated with lace, blue ric rac and the Daisy Border Punch from Martha Stewart.

Here are the ODBD products I used today:

I hope you have enjoyed my creation!!

Be sure to check out the ODBD Blog to see much more, and please stop by my DT Sisters for more inspiration!

Hello Friends!! I can't believe a week has past since my last post.  Man, does time fly.  Each year I say I am going to enjoy Christmas for it's true meaning of Christmas and each year I get sucked into the busyness of the season.  Sometimes we are our own worst enemies!!!

Seriously, I am enjoying all the cantatas and Christmas festivities at church, but life sure has been crazy.

Today I am popping in to share a card I created for the Shining the Light challenge at Our Daily Bread Designs!!

For my creation, I used the Sing For Joy and Christmas Ornaments stamp sets from Our Daily Bread Designs as well as the Our Daily Bread Designs 2013 Christmas Paper Collection!!

N- Nestabilities; O-Oval; E-Embossing; L-Layering

Dies Used: Spellbinders Floral Ovals, Classic Ovals, Ribbon Banners, Resplendent Rectangles

Here is a sneak peek of a matching treat box I created which matches this card for this months Dirty Dozen Gallery.  You can see the entire photo here.

Hello Friends!!

I hope everyone has enjoyed the weekend!! We had a major ice storm here in Virginia and were trapped indoors and off the roads for both Sunday and Monday.  There is something cozy about being indoors with the Christmas lights, fire on, and just cozy and warm as a family while it is sleeting outdoors.  Not that I want to lose electricity, internet, and telephone all the time but once in a while during the hectic holidays, it is refreshing!!  I thank God for that time of rest and time with the family!!  It gave us time to reflect on the true meaning of Christmas and on Him!!

Today I would like to share a project made for the ODBD Shining the Light challenge which is to create a project that is 3D or uses an alternate fold.

I made a gift set.

The easel card uses the New Release ODBD Ornate Borders and Flowers with the custom matching dies Ornate Borders and Flowers die as well as the Ornate Border Sentiments.  The dry embossing on the background is Sizzix x's and o's and circles and dots embossing folder.
The flower or design behind the middle "flower is created with the corner die in the Ornate Borders and Flowers die cut from Gold Glitter paper and Baja Breeze.

The box is created using the ODBD Ornate Background using embossing resist (pearl embossing powder with Baja Breeze and soft sky sponged on) and the Ornate Borders and Flowers stamp set and custom matching Ornate Borders and Flower dies.  The carton uses the Sizzix carton die from Stampin Up.

Hello Friends!! I hope you are all enjoying your week and are ready for the weekend!! I know I am!!  This weekend will be fun but very busy with the Children's Pagent at church, more decorating in the house and some Christmas shopping!! Tomorrow we get a real Christmas tree and decorate it!! I always enjoy looking at all the ornaments I have received in the past and all the memories that go with it.  Christmas can bring such warm memories and I just love the joy the season brings as we remember that most wonderful gift of God, HIS SON.  I love all the Christmas carols!!

Anywho...today I would like to share a Christmas card I created.

The background is created with the Ornate Background from ODBD stamped in red on white paper and the bottom is embossed with Sizzix x and o's embossing folder. I added some pearls in each x for texture and elegance.

The sentiment is from ODBD Poinsettia Wreath and is framed with a stamp from ODBD Ornate Borders and Flowers and cut out with the custom ODBD Ornate Borders and flowers die.

Thanks for stopping by.  I hope you were inspired in some way by my creation.  Have a blessed day and weekend!!!

blessings,

For to you is born this day, in the city of David, a Savior, who is Christ the Lord.
Luke 2:11

2 Corinthians 8:9 For you know the gracious act of our Lord Jesus Christ, that for your sake he became poor although he was rich, so that by his poverty you might become rich.

John 3: 16 For God so loved the world that he gave* his only Son, so that everyone who believes in him might not perish but might have eternal life.

I am entering this into the Word Art Wednesday challenge which is Anything Goes.  Word art Wednesday shares free inspirational scripture and sentiments each week!!

Hello Friends!! I hope all is well!!  Now that Thanksgiving is over in the USA, it is time to prepare for Christmas!! I can't believe it is less than 4 weeks a way!!!

Not only do I send cards of love to friends and family sharing the joy of the Christmas message, put up our nativity, decorate, and bake, I feel it is also a time of great Thanksgiving for the greatest gift ever given, God's son, who was born in a humble and lowly manger and raised like you and I so He could some day die for my sins.  What a sacrifice and gift!! I thank God for such a hope that when I die, I can spend my days with Him in eternity.  I also thank God for this hope when a loved one dies.  What a blessing to know that my sister in laws father who passed away a week ago today, suddenly is now in heaven and that one day we will all be reunited.

Today I am sharing a non-traditional Christmas card (at least that is my intention, it could be a birthday card as well)  I hope my card portrays the festive joyfulness of Christmas.

I created this card for the ODBD Shining the Light challenge which is to use Double embossing (wet and dry embossing or the double dry embossing technique)  I used both dry embossing and wet embossing on my card.  In fact, I embossed in three different colors: pearl, Holographic on night of navy ink, and gold.

This card uses the New Release ODBD Ornate Borders and Flowers with the custom matching dies Ornate Borders and Flowers die as well as the Ornate Border Sentiments.  The dry embossing on the background is Darice Damask.

I hope everyone has enjoyed a blessed holiday weekend!! I know that I thank God for so many things both big and small!!!

Today I am popping with cards for the new release at Our Daily Bread Designs.  Boy are you in for a treat!! The dies and stamps are gorgeous!! I am so enjoying playing with them!! I hope you are inspired by my creations.

You won't want to miss visiting my dt sisters for some great inspiration and a chance to win a prize!!

Prize Details:

Three winners will be randomly chosen from one of the designers blog comments to receive a $25 Gift Certificate to the ODBD Store, to be used toward the purchase of ODBD Stamps.  You have until December 2, 2013 at 9:00 p.m. EST to make your comments!  The Winners will be posted on the ODBD Blog on December 3rd, so be sure to check back there to see if you won!

Here are my creations using at least one stamp from each of the new sets!!

The first card is created with the Ornate Borders and Flowers Stamp Set, the Ornate Borders and Flowers Die, the Ornate Borders and No Words.  The middle flower is created with the flower stamp with in the set.  The larger flower is created with the corner stamps within the set stamped four times to create a complete flower.

I used Bravo Burgundy ink and the Sizzix Dotted Squares.  The background is embossed with Darice Damask.  You can really see the texture in person but it is hard to see in the photo.  The ides behind middle square panel is Spellbinders Labels 27. The border of the card uses Spellbinders Grand Scalloped Squares. The sentiment is first framed with the Ornate Borders and flowers then cut out with the custom dies and then mounted on a Spellbinders Parisian Accents die.

My second creation uses the Ornate Background embossed in pearl embossing powder on white.  The flower is from the Ornate Border and Flower stamp set and is embossed with pearl, sponged with pink ink and then cut out with the Ornate Border and Flower Dies. The dp is actually from my scrap bin. The border is created with the Spellbinders Bracket 1 border.  The sentiment is from Ornate Borders sentiments.

Here is photo of a card I made for a sneak peek which was made for my brother and sister in law who lost her father this week.  At times like this there are just no words...the No Words set is perfect for this occasion!!

For the details see this post.

Here are all the sets to be released which I have also used up above:

I hope you are inspired by my creations.  I sure enjoyed creating them.
