Welcome to Our Daily Bread Design's Alumni Team's bi-monthly For the Love Blog Hop. This week the Alumni team along with some of the ODBD designers are featuring a hop For the Love of Friendship! Check out each link and leave a comment. If you get lost along the way, check the ODBD blog for full list of links. One of the posts is a hop hot spot and a name will be drawn from that list of comments to win a $15 ODBD store gift certificate. So, all you have to do is hop along and see all the creations and leave a little love! You have until Wednesday, February 13th, at 6 pm.
Enjoy all the beautiful designs featuring For the Love of Friendship! If you came here from Angie's blog you are in the right spot, if not you may want to start back at the beginning for a chance to win and for more inspiration.
For my creation I used the Seeds stamp set and a sneak peek of Earth's Gladdest Day. I stamped the crocus and embossed it in black on watercolor paper and then colored and painted with watercolor markers. I then embossed the background with a SU embossing folder to make it look like Aida cloth. The sentiment from Seeds was stamped in Stazon Purple ink on a Spellbinders Fancy Framed Tags Two.
Card Recipe:
Stamps: Our Daily Bread Designs- Seeds and a sneak peak of Earth's Gladdest Day
Accessories: Off white wrinkled ribbon from May Arts, SU Embossing folder, Becca's Bow maker, lace, Black Embossing Powder, Watercolor markers, pearls
Dies: Spellbinders Fancy Framed Tags 2, Spellbinders Parisian Accents
Here is a photo of the set used:
You are now at the end of the hop!! Thanks for joining us!! I hope you were in some way inspired. Please leave a comment here at the ODBD Blog so we know you have completed and joined out hop.

Before moving into our new home, I had made a few heart gift boxes and shared them on my personal blog. I had several requests from my blog viewers asking for a tutorial on how to make them. So today.....several months later....is a tutorial.
Materials:
-1 piece of 12x12 solid cardstock (mine is black)
- 2 different pieces of 6x6 designer paper (1 piece for layering on each side and 1 for the lining on the inside of the heart box)
-Spellbinders Classic and Scalloped Hearts (you will need the largest classic and scalloped dies for the actual box...I used several for decorating as well)
-12x12 cutter and scorer
- 1/4" scoretape
-scissor
optional:
Bo Bunny - Home and SEI dp.
Our Daily Bread Designs- Be Joyful stamp set
copics (Booo, Boo, Bo1, Bo2, Bo4, YG91, YG93, G94)
Gold Flowersoft and Flowersoft glue
Steps:
1. For the purpose of this tutorial, I already precut 2 of the largest scalloped hearts and a 2"x9 1/2" out of the solid card stock and 4 hearts using the largest classic heart (2 from each piece of the 6x6" sheets of designer papers).
2. Score the 2 x 9 1/2" piece of cardstock and 1/4 inch from each long side.
3. Apply Scor-tape to each of the 1/4" scored edges.
4.Cut slits on the scor-tape approximately 1/4 inch apart all the way across on each side.
Since a heart can't sit on it's point, I make the box sit on it's side.
5. Peel off the scoretape and adhere one side of the scored strip to the wrong side of the "Lining".
6. Do the same thing with the other side of the scored rectangular strip. The wrong side should be pointing out.
hint: This side is more tricky to line up so I begin adhering at the point of the heart starting with the middle of my strip. You may want to peel off half of the tape at a time and adhere to the heart.
7. Adhere the decorative layer of dp to each of the scalloped card stock hearts.
8. Adhere each of the card stock scalloped hearts to the heart "frame" you have created to complete the heart box "shell".
9. Decorate as desired.
I used Bo Bunny - Home and SEI dp. The sentiment and image is from Our Daily Bread Designs- Be Joyful stamp set. The image was colored with copics (Booo, Boo, Bo1, Bo2, Bo4, YG91, YG93, G94). Gold flowersoft was added to the centers.
I hope you enjoyed my tutorial and are in some way inspired by my project. God bless you!!

Today I am popping in to share this week's Shining the Light challenge and a sneak peek from Our Daily Bread Designs called Let the Earth Rejoice!! What a gorgeous image and so many awesome verses and sentiments!! Love this Easter set!!
This week's challenge is:
Love- use pink, white and red or hearts in honor of Valentines Day. The hearts can be in a embossing folder, embellishment, or designer paper. It does not need to be a valentine card.
I decided to make an Easter and Love card combined since what greater love has He than the Love Christ had for us by dying for our sins so we can have a relationship with the Father and have Eternal Life!! No greater Love has He than that of one who lays down His Life for His friends!!

Happy Friday All!! Wow!! It sure has been chilly here in Virginia. I hope everyone has been keeping warm. I have stayed indoors mostly other than going into the car to volunteer in the classroom at the Christian School. The days have made me feel lazy...We have been very busy, however, with painting yet again in the house as well as looking for jobs for Scott. We continue to pray for jobs for Scott as we stila have not located work. Scott jokes that he could work for the weather channel...he is very able to stand in the rain or pelting snow if they need. LOL! We know God will provide work in time...He is just teaching patience. Hopefully we don't have to endure patience for too much longer....LOL!
Anywho...today I am popping in with a card I made for a challenge over at Splitcoast
(TLC413) which was..."All about the dies" I had fun creating a background with the Spellbinders Butterfly Magic and the A2 Matting Basics .
The stamps used include the Fellowship Sentiments , Little Girls (sentiment), and the Antique Label Designs from Our Daily Bread Designs. The border on the very bottom and the one sentiment is cut out with the coordinating Antique Label and Border die .
The fancy border is cut out with a Martha Stewart punch.
The bow is made with Becca's Peg Bow Maker.

I have never experienced snow in Virginia until this past week while on the road, quite a ways away from home. Being from NY, I am used to snow and driving in it....I learned one thing about Virginia...they don't know how to clear the roads here....I thank God for being with Scott and I on that long journey home!!

Happy Monday Friends!! I hope all is well with you all!! Winter is definitely here in VA. It is 19 degrees this morning!!! Just a tad bit chillier than what we have seen here thus far.
Today I would like to share a card I made to encourage a friend. I seldom make double pocket cards but I felt adding bookmarks and encouraging verses may be appreciated so I made a diagonal fold card.
I used Our Daily Bread Designs Daisy Background stamped in Apricot Appeal, Bookmark Trees , Bookmark Verses , Bookmark- Eagle , Fellowship Sentiments , Antique Labels Design . The dies used are custom made Spellbinders dies from ODBD and include Antique Labels and Border die and Bookmark dies
I wanted to make a thinking of you or encouragement card for a friend so I used bright colors.
Thanks for stopping by!! Have a great day!!
