Happy Sunday Everyone!!  I hope you are all having a great weekend!!  It is very cold here and we had about 8 inches of snow...it is so cozy inside.  My dear hubby and I were on a mission to clean up all the Christmas decorations and CLEAN HOUSE.  Not too much crafting this weekend but it felt to get clean and more organized again.

Any who....today is the first challenge for Stampin Sisters in Christ for the 2011 year.  I am so blessed to be this week's host, choosing this week's verse and challenge.

The verse I chose is from the book of Ruth.

May the LORD repay you for what you have done. May you be richly rewarded by the LORD, the God of Israel, under whose wings you have come to take refuge.”
Ruth 2:12

The verse above is one spoken by Boaz, her future husband, praising her faithfulness to God and her mother in law.  Ruth is a very Godly women who leaves everything behind to follow God's leading and do what is best for her mother in law (her husband and her father in law passed on).  I am humbled and greatly admire Ruth for her faith. There is much I can learn from her.

Many make resolutions in January for the new year.  I am not much for resolutions since I rarely follow through but I am committed to live a life of faith...a promise to follow God’s will and not do what is only right for me but to think of God and others first and foremost.

The challenge this week is to use wings on your creation.

I chose to make a gift box to match the card.  I used the Pop n Top Template from Perfect Presentations and the Basic Grey Curio designer paper.  The butterfly is created with the Butterfly stamp and butterfly die from Our Daily Bread Designs. The black cardstock is embossed with ODBD's new butterfly embossing plateYou can see it better if you look at the last photo.  The lace is some I received from my friend Ann (it is May Arts).

Ror the card I used the Full of Grace- Faith, Butterfly single, butterfly die and Butterfly Embossing plate available at Our Daily Bread Designs.  The new items I used for my creation include the Full Of Grace-Faith set, the embossing plate and the ecru trim.  The old items I used were the Basic Grey Curio designer paper, punches, Labels 14 die (spellbinders) and black wrinkled ribbon. My butterfly is colored with copics.  The little butterflies are the negative pieces left from punching the butterfly border with the Martha Stewart Butterfly border punch.  The embossed butterflies are distressed with Bittersweet Distress ink as are the edges of the sentiment panel.
