ODBD Bread Basket

Monday, June 8, 2009
Happy Monday Morning to you all!! I hope everyone had a wonderful weekend. Although the girls are suffering with some real allergy issues here and are not feeling too well, the weather was perfect!!!! Gorgeous!! I had the opportunity to play in my gardens. Woohoo! I did some stamping as well but not too much...

CARD 1

Today I would like to share with you two cards that I have made. The first is using the newest release from Our Daily Bread Designs- Ask Seek Knock. Most of the materials used are items available at ODBD including the Wisteria Dp (Basic Grey), Flowers Soft (Baby Blue and Ivory), Flowersoft wire and glue, Martha Stewart Classic Butterflies, EK Success Fleur De Lis Punch, Label 1 and 3 nestabilities from Spellbinders and Hero Arts Pearls. The only items not from ODBD is the cardstock, three leaf punch (MS), and blue ribbon. I so love the Basic Grey Wisteria Paper. A card with this dp would look delish even without the flowersoft. I do like the added texture the flowersoft gives the card though. I used SC's Wednesday's SC231 for the sketch and layout. I love the verses in this Ask Seek Knock set. They are perfect for Thinking of you cards! This card is being sent to a friend who is going through some life changes right now. When we are going through tough times, we often try to rely on our own strength. I hope this is an encouragement to her.
Card 1 Recipe
Paper: Basic Grey Wisteria, Lily Pond Bazzill, Bitter Chocolate Bazzill, Very Vanilla CS
CARD 2
The second card is just a fun card I made before going to church yesterday. I participated in the Featured Stamper challenge (FS122) "Casing Kisa". Kisa had a lot of wonderful cards but after perusing her awesome gallery I chose this card to case: http://www.splitcoaststampers.com/gallery/photo/905492?cat=500&ppuser=39076 . I change the stamp used, colors, and added a sentiment. Many times I sew on my card, since this was a case, I used faux stiching instead of the real deal (LOL). I colored the image with a combo of copics and prisma color pencils and gamsol (since I don't have a very large selection of copics). I did not have black brads like Kisa's card had so I created my own by inking up silver brads and embossing them in black. The background panel is dry embossed with the Cuttlebug Swiss Dot Folder. I thought it went perfect with the bubbles. For the bubbles, I used liquid applique on some of them to make them look like soap suds. Penny Black has so many cute images and I have been missing stamping with them so I thought I just better ink some of these babies up for some added fun. This one is from Penny Black's Clear stamp set "Bubbly". I also have this in a separate wooden stamp but it is much bigger than this!!

Card Recipe 2:

Stamps: Penny Black- Bubbly

Paper: Bashful Blue, Ballet Blue, Black and White CS

Accessories: Black Embossing Powder and Brads, EK Success Fleur De Lis Punch, Cuttlebug Swiss Dots Folder, Blue ribbon, Circle Nestabilities, Liquid Applique, Copics, Prisma Color pencils and Gamsol

Thanks for stopping by today!! I hope you enjoyed today's post. I so appreciate all the wonderful comments and the smiles each one gives me. I look forward to do some blog hopping today to leave some love for others and to be inspired. Have a great Monday!! Tomorrow I will be back with another intriguing sketch challenge for the Midnight Madness Sketch Challenge.

hugs and blessings,

Chris
