Hi! I am Chris, also known as Glowbug on Splitcoaststampers. I live in Appomattox, VA. I so much enjoy blogging and the so many good friendships that have formed as a result. During my free time, I am creating cards or projects and I so enjoy Challenges. I have a very supportive husband, Scott, who understands my addiction and two young daughters,Meghan, 9 and Nicki, 12 years of age, who can't wait to get their hands on my stamps and embellishments. I was an elementary school teacher until my youngest was born. I have now been blessed with the opportunity to teach my two girls at home. I use stamping as a hobby or way to escape.

Happy Saturday Everyone!! I hope you are all having a good weekend!!  Life has been hectic and very busy lately which has cut into my crafting time.  So many things to do and just not enough hours in a day to do it all.  I have to admit, though, that I also have a lot on my mind at the moment and I am not as productive as usual either.

I am not complaining...Believe you me I am thankful for my health and so many other blessings bestowed upon me.

Anywho...It is time for another Shining the Light Challenge at Our Daily Bread Designs.

This week's Challenge:
To use gold or silver cording, craft hemp or string of some sort.Sometimes we just use ribbons or whatever is close at our fingertips and neglect to use some of our embellishments. I hope this helps you think outside of the box.

To make the challenge even more fun, we will be giving out a prize , a $ 15 gift certificate to be used toward stamps at the Our Daily Bread Designs store!! Entries for the prize must be submitted by Thursday,
November 11.
One random winner will be chosen and announced next Saturday.

While it is not required to use Our Daily Bread Designs images and sentiments on your creations, we would love to see them if you have them.As a way of recognizing those who do use Our Daily Bread Designs stamps, we will again be choosing 1 to 2 creations to spotlight for our Shining the Light Award. In order to qualify for this award, however, you must use Our Daily Bread stamps and have your submission added to Mr. Linky by November 11 at 8 p.m. EST.If you upload your creations to Splitcoast Stampers or any other online gallery, please use the keyword is ODBDSLC36. When creating your posts on blogs please include a link to the challenge.

Here is my creation using the Holly Tag Set, Poinsettia Tag Set, Tag die,
this months new releases at Our Daily Bread Designs.  The die is a match to all the new tag sets in the ODBD store.

I created a template of my own to make this bag.  The dp is from Stampin up.  It is retired and I am unsure of the name. The burgundy ribbon is silk and the gold is sheer, both are from May Arts.  The glittery green ribbon is from Ribbon Bowtique at Michaels.

Hello All!! This is going to be a quick post since my electric is threatening to go out.  It has almost gone off four times already (going off for a few minutes and then off).  I don't want to let my Divine Diva team members down so I better get to it.

Today it is time for another Divine Diva Inspiration challenge.  Lori sent the team this photo as our inspiration

I took my inspiration from the owl and leaves as well as the pink and brown.  This is my completed project:

The image is from Inkadinkadoo Birds Galore clear stamp set which is one of my more neglected stamps.  We never have enough time to ink all we have it seems.  I stamped it in brown and then added pink to it. The dp is basic grey sugared.  The pearls are ZVA Creative.

For more inspiration, please visit my dt sisters:

Happy Hump Day Everyone!!!!

Today it is freezing here!!  28 degrees!  Yuck!! I am so not ready for winter.  Why can't it stay for a while longer.....

Anywho...today I have an ornament to share with you.  Time seems to be flying by and winter and Christmas are on the way.  It is definitely time to get cracking on all the holiday creations.  I do love the holidays though so to me it is fun (when it does not become so crazy busy that you can not reflect on the true meaning of the season).
Not to long ago Your Next Stamp had a holiday stamp release with some very adorable images.  For my ornament, I chose Ellie Loves to skate.

For my creation, I colored Ellie with copics, cut her out and popped her on dimensionals.  The snowflake background is metallic with lots of glitter.  The snowflakes hanging from the ornament are buttons (4 buttons sewn together so there is no wrong side, I figured they may twirl a lot.)

One of my dearest and best  friends challenged me to not sew on my creation....Well I flunked that challenge...I really thought the gold thread would add some elegance to my ornament and also would keep the ornament in tack better.  I am a stitching junky!!

Challenges I entered my ornament in:

This week is the start of Whimsy Stamps rubber stamp sale. All in stock rubber stamps are currently marked 25% off regular prices, this sale does not include custom rubber stamps. Now is a great time to stock up on all those holiday stamps and some old favorites too! Sale ends on Sunday the 7th.

And, today is also new digital stamp release day over at Whimsy Stamps and our artists were busy! Whimsy has 12 new image stamps and 6 new sentiment sets and of course 5 new Meljen's Designs (that were released last Thursday at Meljen's) All of the new digis are available to purchase now and our digital design team will be hosting a blog hop at Noon EST today, which begins over on the Whimsy Blog! I know I can't wait to see what they all created! I hope you will join the fun and and have the opportunity to win some prizes along the way too!

Here is a creation I created using one of Whimsy's Darling Rubber stamps called Starry Night.  I think it just makes a darling Christmas card.  The dp is from Heidi Grace (much neglected dp from my stash).  I colored it with copics.

Here is a picture of the copics I used for this image.  The two unlabeled Ciao markers are E93 and a blender pen.

The Winners will be announced on the ODBD Blog on Nov. 3 so make sure to check back on the blog then to see if you won!!

Now on to my creation.

Each year my mom is looking for me to make tags and the timing of this release is just perfect to make her a gift boxed set of tags!!  The designs of the font and images are just so elegant and beautiful.  For my creation I used all three tag sets: Mistletoe Tag set, Holly Tag set, and Poinsettia Tag set.  The best part too is that Our Daily Bread Designs even has a tag die to cut out the tags. Woo hoo!!  In addition to creating my tags I made a gift box to give it to her in (this is not a template but rather my own design.

I tried to vary my colors and designs.  My Dad use to be a baker and has a delish secret recipe for Dutch Almond Cakes.  So he makes 30 plus cakes each Christmas while my mom does the cleaning and all the packaging. LOL! (Hmm!  wonder which one I would rather do?)  I thought these tags may be perfect for what they need.  The box is made with a combo of black paper and the Basic Grey Jovial Paper.
