Happy Friday Everyone!!! I am so glad it is Friday. It is very rainy and dreary here but atleast tomorrow is a lay low day. My girls are sick so no homeschooling today. This would have been my last day...oh well. Monday will be it! woo hoo! Then it is paperwork, paperwork and more paperwork for the district and ordering for next year. I should have started that earlier already but I just had a hard time focusing on this year yet and ordering for next. Oh well.... I procrastinated!

Anywho...now for the fun stuff!!! I have two cards to share with you today. The first one is a card I made for Wednesday's SC231 challenge posted by Dawn and the Creative Inspirations challenge to have something hidden. Under the butterfly, it opens to a sentiment. The fastener acts as a hinge. The sketch at SC is perfect for those large stamps that take almost a whole card up so I used my Penny Black Lily Pond stamp. I used prismacolor pencils and gamsol to color it along with my copics. I wish I could color the whole thing with copics but I don't have a big enough supply yet. It is not enough of a variety for shading. The dp behind the image is Afternoon Tea From Stampin Up last year and I still have a lot left over. I sponged the sky with soft sky. The ribbon is left over and I am not sure what company it is from. the Butterfly is from another Penny Black stamp called Water Lily Skiing. I love these Penny Black stamps. Aren't they just too cute?!

The second card I made for a friend who requested a Father's Day Card for her Father in Law with the fishing theme. The Our Daily Bread Designs Fisher's of Men set was perfect for this. I used the OCCC sketch for this week. The dp is from the SU Chocolate Chip DP. The image was colored with my stampin up markers, refills and watercolor paper. I just received the Pacific Point ribbon (before it retired). I think it brightens it up a bit.

Card 1 Recipe:
Stamps: Penny Black Lily Pond, Penny Black Water Lily skiing
Paper: Afternoon Tea, Kiwi Kiss, Pink Pirouette
Accessories: Sewing Machine, brad, ribbon (unknown-scrap), square nestabilities, watercolor markers, watercolor paper, Textile embossing folder
Card 2 Recipe:
Paper: Chocolate Chip DP, Pacific Point, Chocolate Chip CS, Watercolor paper
Accessories: Pacific point ribbon, jumbo eyelets, sewing machine, oval punches craft hemp, Making Memories large decorative brad, distressor, sponge
Thanks for stopping by today! I so appreciate you all!! Have a great weekend!!

Happy Thursday!!! Today it is a very dreary day here. The clouds are not letting the sun peek through and it looks like rain again. It was the same yesterday as well. I plan to so some work inside the house and some more stamping. Woo hoo! If it was sunny, I would have to be outside weeding, painting or staining.

Today is the Divine Diva Inspiration Challenge! Lori sent all the dt members a link to the Title Nine site that included these dresses:

I decided to use the colors and flowers of the first dress as my inspiration. I also thought I would use the Mojo 89 sketch for this week. Since the colors of the dress looked closest to the Baja Breeze and the patterns looked floral or paisley, I thought the Parisian Breeze Paper would be perfect with the patterns and colors which are all in the dress. The flowers reminded me of the SU Playful Petals set so I thought I would use this set. My flowers are paper pieced using CS and Designer Papers. I also made a matching Butterfly Box to go with it. This was Monday's TLC220 challenge for this week.

Card Recipe:
Stamps: Warm Words, Playful Petals
Paper: Parisian Breeze, Baja Breeze, Chocolate Chip, White CS, Urban Garden DP (Old olive dp)
Accessories: Ek Success Fleur De Lis Punch, Cuttlebug Textile Embossing Folder, sewing machine, Spellbinders Label 3 die, Baja Breeze Grossgrain ribbon, Oval punches, Martha Stewart Classic Butterflies Punch, Hero Arts Pearls

Butterfly Box:
Stamps: Ovals Only
Paper: Parisian Breeze, White CS, Chocolate Chip
Accessories: Butterfly Box Template, Flourish Rhinestones, SU Sizzix Butterfly XL Die

Thanks for visiting today. I hope this project inspires you to create and maybe....even use this inspiration!!! We would so love you to join in on the fun. If you should create a card or project using this as your inspiration, please link your creation to Lori's Blog here. If you upload your creation to SC please use the keyword DDIC5. I hope you have the time for more awesome inspiration from my delightful talented dt sisters: Julie, Keri, Chat, Angela, and Lori. You won't want to miss them!!

Thanks again for stopping by and for your wonderful comments. Your blogs and comments are such an inspiration and I am very thankful for all my blogging friends. I hope you find the time to create and maybe participate in one of the challenges I have posted in the last three days or maybe even all three at once. It can be done! You can use the sketch from the Midnight Madness Challenge, use papers or images reflecting this inspiration and add a butterfly or fairy for yesterday's Flutter By Wednesday Challenge! If these challenges do not inspire you to create, I am sure the prize that Priscilla is offering sure will!!! I just may have to try this combo if I get a chance!!

Smiles and blessings,
Chris

Good Morning! I can't believe today is Wednesday and it is already June. Where does the time go!!! My oldest baby turns 10 this month. It seems like just yesterday I was pacing the floor with a colicky baby and now she is going to be 10!!! Wow! My mother in law is telling everyone that she is 10 now. I keep telling her, not yet...I am holding on to every moment. Pretty sad huh!!

Well since it is Wednesday, that means it is Flutter By Wednesday! Woohoo!!! This week's challenge is a fun one. Why you say? Aren't they all fun? Yes, but this week your creativity is the limit because it is OPEN! That means all you have to do is create a card or project with a butterfly or fairy on it and you are good to go. Easy peasy!! So what are you waiting for....join the fun! If you do, please just leave a direct link here. If you upload to SC or PCP please use the keyword FBW.

This week's guest designer is one who I follow regularly and thoroughly enjoy!!! She always does fab work with her over the top creations and her creation for today's challenge is no exception. She is a designer for not one but several companies. Drumrolls please.....And the designer is none other than Cindy Haffner!!!! Be sure to pop on over to her blog and leave her some love. You will be amazed at all her lovely colors, layouts, and details!!

This weeks featured designer from the Flutter By Wednesday team is someone I know real well or atleast I think I do. She thinks she has some talent, is gentle hearted and tries to share her love with others....shh don't tell her the truth. Oh yeah, .....this weeks featured designer is....ME! Tee hee! Thanks for this honor Danni! Here
is my creation:

I often do so many cards or projects for design teams and just don't have enough time to even stamp with some of my favorites!!! This stamp is from The Whiff of Joy Spring collection! I used my watercolors to color her. The layout is from an old sketch challenge at Creative Inspirations . I wanted to use some of the in colors that are retiring this month as well. (Don't worry I will continue to use them even after they retire because I hoarded some of the dp and cs!!!! Tee hee!) The dp is from My Minds Bohemia collection and SU- Walk in the park. The cs is SU Baha Breeze and Bazzill Bitter Chocolate.

Thanks for stopping by today!! I so enjoy your visits and comments! You are all my inspiration!!! For more inspiration for today's Flutter By Challenge, you won't want to miss popping on over to my uber talented dt sisters: Ann, Cassie, Cathy, Christine, Danni, Harriet, Heather, Jodi, Kim, Kimmie, Lelia, Michelle, Nancy, Nicola, and Stef. Today is Midnight Madness Sketch challenge #4!!!!! So grab a cup of coffee, sit down and enjoy reading all the awesome details for the next BIG CHALLENGE GIVE AWAY! PRISCILLA IS BEING INCREDIBLY GENEROUS AND YOU WON"T WANT TO MISS IT!! Remember you have until Midnight EST 6-2-09 (today!!!) to get your last MMSC3 entry in, for the $100 shopping spree give away to Stampin Up. Priscilla will be doing the Big Video drawing for the Shopping spree tomorrow 6-03-09 so be sure to check back here for the happy dancing!!!

Each week, the DT awards one participant in the weekly sketch with the Midnight Madness Masterpiece award. This award is to recognize one participant for their outstanding sketch submission. If you would like to be considered for the award you must link your creation to Mr. Linky here before midnight on Sunday. This weeks winner is Mimi Kitty!!! Congrats!! Be sure to check out her creation and leave her some love.

We can't let the participants have all the fun so each week a dt member is also awarded. This week the MMDT has nominated a very special person for the "Midnight Madness Sweetheart" Award. She was nominated for many reasons, but here are just a few. She is one of the sweetest, softes, and most hones hard working women we have met. Her devotion to her family and friends is undeniable. She is a true sweetheart and so very talented!!!! Congrats Carolyn!!! Make sure to check out her awesome blog and leave her some love as well!!!
The Next Big Challenge Give Away is here!!! Priscilla thought she would do something a little different. The next prize can be for any product off the market. The easiest way to make this happen is give away $$CASH$$! We know how bad this economy has hit some people and Priscilla thougth the cash my help too. If you win, you can use your $ money for bills or for anything you would like. The Midnight Madness Blog is hopefully a place for you to gather a little extra inspiration that will keep you coming back week after week. The prizes make it even more fun, don't you think? We will mix it up each month so stick around for a while and have some fun with us!!
Our DT would like to Thank all of you for inspiring us. Since we started, we are having so much fun visiting and commenting on everyone's cards. So let's spread the word, have some more fun and see what transpires. Here is the plan.... for every entry made to Mr. Linky here, Priscilla will add $.25 cents to the Midnight Madness Mad Money piggy bank (only one entry per per person per week please) This could add up really fast!!! Now follow the Midnight Madness Sketch Challenge blog here...for example, if it averages 50 Mr. Linky entries per week...that totals to approximately 200 entires for the month, which is $50 cash!!! For the Big Bonus....Priscilla will double the cash amount if we double the followers of the blog by the end of the month. That would be a grandtotal cash prize of $100 (to paid through Paypal or money order in US Funds) Now this total could be a lot hight depending on how many peaople play this month!!! We are at 160 follower count now, so if we reach 320 or more by June 30 midnight EST Priscilla will double the mad money amount. If the grand total at the end of the month reaches $200, two names will be drawn...if it reaches $300, 3 names will be drawn and so on...and so on, up to a maximum of $500 total pay out! Wow! (ie. if the grand total is $375 then three names are drawn and each person will receive $125 cash). This challenge will run for the month of June, Starting with MMSC4 and lasting for a series of 4 sketch challenge weeks and ending with MMSC7. The grand prize will bea announced on July 1 here. The drawing will be done via video and one of Priscilla's kids will draw the the name/names. The more people that play , the more $ that goes in the mad money piggy bank! We must reach atleast 320 followers here on the Midnight Madness Challenge Blog, for the mad money to be doubled. So gather up all your friends, announce it on your blogs and come play with us. In addition to our Mad Money cash prize and our weekly Midnight Madness Masterpiece Badge award, Priscilla will draw one name from each week's sketch entries to win a special surprise bonus gift. It is just a litle something to keep the excitement going throughout the month.
In order to qualify for the cash, you must display a linked Midnight Madness logo (displayed on my sidebar) badge on your blog, be a follower here and have a direct link back to Priscilla's blog in your card comments. No worries if you do not have a blog...upload your card to a card gallery and in your card comments have a direct link back to the MM Challenge blog and you qualify as well. For more details, you can click here. AND NOW FOR THIS WEEK"S SKETCH!!!........
He is what I created with the sketch......

I decided this week to make an altered project rather than a card. I made a little picture journal that I plan to give my daughter, Nicki, for her birthday. She loves scrapbooking and taking pictures so I thought it would be fun to make this for her double digit birthday. She turns 10 this month. Where does the time go!!!
I used an image from Whiff of Joy Summer kit and a chipboard album kit from K& Co's Classic K collection. The image is colored with copics. The frame around the image is a label 4 nestability. I love texture and distressing so inked and distressed the edges, dry embossed the panel behind my image with the textile embossing folder and added lace, a strip of material and zig zag stiching. I hope you like this creation and it inspires you to play along with this weeks sketch. For more inspiration, visit the blogs of the rest of the MMDT: Carolyn, Charlotte, Denise, Jane, Jeni, Jessica, Kimmie, Michelle, Phyllis, Priscilla, Shawne, Sonya, and Sue. Their creations will amaze and dazzle you!!!
Thanks for stopping by today!!! I so appreciate all your visits and comments. If you do visit my blog, please leave me a comment so I now you have been here and I can in turn visit your blog! You are all such an inspiration to me. I hope that I inspire you just a fraction of how much you all you inspire me. Tomorrow I will be back with the FLUTTER BY WEDNESDAY CHALLENGE. Have a great Tuesday!!!!

Happy Monday morning to all of you. I hope everyone had a wonderful weekend. Mine was very very busy but very nice as well. My girls and I were away the entire day on Saturday at the zoo. We had a great time but were very exhausted! So many neat things to see!! Sunday was church and then my brother and sister in law were here from Virginia! We had such a terrific visit. I so wish we didn't live so far apart and we could see eachother more often. It is so hard when the family is so spread out! We will be camping together in eachother month so we do have a lot to look forward to. July will be here before you know it! Time flies! I can't believe today is June already!!!

Speaking of June.....Today is the new release of the Our Daily Bread Designs two new sets: Quiet Waters and Ask Seek Knock. I am so excited to share these two gorgeous sets with you! I LOVE Them!! I have made two samples, using one of each to share with you!!

These two cards were made for sheer fun and not for any particular challenge! It was fun to just be creative! The first card uses SU Bella Blue paper and Bordering Blue. The sentiment is framed using a Spellbinders Labels 4 die available at ODBD! This is one of my absolute favorite dies!! The fence was created using a Martha Stewart Punch. The image was stamped on watercolor paper and watercolored. When I saw this Making Memories Key embellishment, I knew it was perfect to go with this stampset! I created a sidewalk using my Cuttlebug Mosaic Embossing Folder. The border along the bottom uses my favorite border punch Fleur De Lis from EK Success available at ODBD.

Card 1 Recipe

Paper: SU Bella Bleu, Bordering Blue, Water Color Paper, Navy CS

Accessories: Spellbinders Labels 4 die, Martha Stewart fence punch, blue ribbon, Making Memories Key embellishement, rectangle Spellbinders die, Cuttlebug Mosaic Embossing Folder, EK Success Fleur De Lis Punch

The second card features several Our Daily Bread Designs products! The store is rapidly expanding their inventory and there are just so many neat things available in one place!! I used today's new release: Quiet Waters. The image was stamped with Stazon on Watercolor paper and watercolored with Stampin Up Markers. This is such a fun set to watercolor! The designer paper for this card is all available at Our Daily Bread Designs. The paper includes Basic Grey Porcelain Prints, Memory Box Brandywine and Sugar Drop. The bordering shapes around the image and sentiment are using Spellbinders Blossom, Labels 4 and Labels 3 die all available in the store. The flowers are Prima Daisy Dream Quartz. (If you enjoy prima flowers, the selection available at ODBD is so wonderful. You want to be sure and check it out!) I decided to use some of the leaves on one of my ornare templates to frame my verse. The Porcelain prints ribbon went perfectly with the Pink Pirouette, so I used the Pink Pirouette Grossgrain ribbon and cardstock with hodgepodge hardware. I love Pink Pirouette and I am so sad to see it leaving SU this month. Time to do some hoarding before it is gone!!!

Card 2 Recipe

Stamps: Quiet Waters

Paper: Basic Grey Porcelain Prints, Memory Box Brandywine and Sugar Drop, Watercolor Paper, Pink Pirouette Textured CS

Accessories: Spellbinders Label 4, Label 3 and Blossom Die, SU Scalloped Border Punch for corner divets, Pink Pirouette Ribbon, Hodgepodge Hardware, Prima Daisy Dream Quartz, SU Little Leaves Sizzlit Die, ornare Piercing and peircing tool
