ODBD Bread Basket

Happy Saturday All!!  It has been a while since I have posted one of my creations.  For that I apologize.  Between busyness or house tours, real estate business, lots of stress and not feeling well, I just could not get around to it.

Today I am popping in to share this week's Shining the Light challenge at ODBD.

This weeks challenge: Holiday with a twist (Christmas or Thanksgiving).  The twist being you must use an ODBD stamp.

To make the challenge even more fun, we will be giving out a prize, $15 gift certificate to be used toward stamps at the Our Daily Bread Designs store!! Entries for thprize must be submitted by Friday, October 21 at 8 a.m. EST. One random winner will be chosen and announced next Saturday. If you are not using ODBD stamps, please do not enter more than once. Additional entries without using ODBD stamps will not be commented on or will they qualify for prizes.

While it is not required to use Our Daily Bread Designs images and sentiments on your creations, we would love to see them if you have them. As a way of recognizing those who do use Our Daily Bread Designs stamps, we will again be choosing 1 to 2 creations to spotlight for our Shining the Light Award. Inorder to qualify for this award, however, you must use Our Daily Bread stamps and have your submission added to Mr. Linky by Friday, October 21 at 8 a.m. EST. If you upload your creations to Splitcoast Stampers or any other online gallery, please use the keyword is ODBDSLC80. When creating your posts on blogs please include a link to the challenge.

The ODBD stamps  I used include  Holiday Ornaments.  The ornament inside the glass ball is embossed in silver on acetate.  There is also a ribbon bow and bells on the inside of the bell as well as several baubles on the bottom.  The sentiment is also from the  Holiday Ornaments stamp set and is cut out using the Spellbinders Ribbon Banners. The bow is created with the bow easy and white wrinkled ribbon from May Arts.

A very lovely and oh so elegant ornament ... I love how you have embossed on the acetate, I thought that the acetate would wrinkle and curl, but this is fantastic (it doesn't) .... love it!!!

Hi Chris~

I have been thinking about you a lot lately. I hope all is going well for you and yours.

This is a wonderful idea. Imagine hand-made ornaments for your tree...or your friends. I have never made ornaments before. I am not quite sure how you put the inside ornament in the glass ornament? I think you said it was acrylic...do you have to use Staz-on ink for that? And, then emboss with an embossing pad? I am so confused...but love this idea. I would love to make my grand-children ornaments for each year. When they are out on their own, they will have a set of ornaments. IF you get the time...would you please share a link or instructions with me? I'd appreciate it.

He IS Able!

p.s. Please pray for Josh. He leaves in 19 day for the Air Force, and changed his contract from 4 to 6 years! (Without telling me.)
