Happy Sunday Everyone!! I hope you have been enjoying the weekend!!  It has been a very busy weekend for our family with so much going on.  Yesterday we had a mother/daughter  Christmas craft day at church.  It was fun and quality time with my girls.

Today I am popping in to share the new Stampin Sisters in Christ challenge.

This week's host is Lisa.

Lisa chose the verse:
Matthew 1:20-22, "But after he had considered this, an angel of the Lord appeared to him in a dream and said, 'Joseph son of David, do not be afraid to take Mary home as your wife, because what is conceived in her is from the Holy Spirit. She will give birth to a son, and you are to give him the name Jesus, because he will save his people from their sins.' All this took place to fulfill what the Lord had said through the prophet: 'The virgin will be with child and will give birth to a son, and they will call him Immanuel' which means, 'God with us.'"

This verse is what Christmas is all about.  God sending His one and only son who was perfect and without sin.  He made Him human so one day He could pay for our sins.  What a miracle!! What Grace!!!!  Can you imagine how overwhelmed Joseph and Mary must have been to know that God was using them for the biggest gift ever!!  What an awesome responsibility!!  Yet they were so humble!  God uses each one of us for His purposes.  Are you following God's plan for your life?  Are you truly thankful for the awesome gift God has given us this Christmas or are you thinking about family, presents, decorations, festivities...At this time of year it is so easy to get so bogged down with all the holiday happenings and not put the true emphasis on what is most important about the "holy-days".  Merry Christ-mas!!!!

Lisa has challenge us to:
Make a card/project depicting an angel

Here is my take on the challenge using the Ornaments 2 stamp set from Our Daily Bread Designs and the Spellbinders Holiday Tags 2 die. Since most of my Christmas stamp sets and anything with angels are packed, this challenge was a real challenge for me.  Unpacking boxes and finding this one angel charm took me much more time and mess then actually creating these tags.  I wish I had found my angel stamps...boohoo.

I truly had fun making these ornament tags.  I can't wait to make more to decorate the gifts!!

I hope you enjoyed my creation.

Happy Sunday All!!! I hope you are all enjoying this weekend!! This one is very  busy for me as my family is here to celebrate Thanksgiving early.  Last night we had our turkey with all the fixings.  How Yummy and oh so fun!!  I feel like I gained a few pound over night. LOL!  It does feel good to think the big preparations for the Thanksgiving holiday are done.  Thursday, we will just have a nice quiet dinner among our family with a little less work or stress. LOL!

Today I am popping briefly to share this week's Stampin Sisters in Christ challenge hosted by Rebekka.

Rebekka chose the verse:
Job 13:15 Though he slay me, yet will I trust in him

Rebekka challenged the team to:
make a card of praise, using music, stamp, or design paper or just the word praise.

Here is my take on the challenge using the Blessed Christmas stamp set (an older set from ODBD) at Our Daily Bread Designs.

I used music on my card background using the Allegro embossing folder.  I also drew musical notes on my sentiment panel and added gold baubles.  The designer paper is from SU Holiday Traditions and K and Co. Elizabeth Browd (Holiday paper).  My panels are antiqued with gold embossing powder on the smaller panels and Antique Gold on the largest panel and over the embossing.  This card uses the layout from this week's Mojo Monday sketch 215.

This card was also made for the Splitcoast November Theme challenges using the Word Challenge: WORD1011 which is to use the letters in the word PLAY.

Happy Sunday Everyone!! I hope you all are having a great weekend.  After running around in different directions yesterday, it is going to be so nice to have the day to go to church and then spend together as a family.

Today I have a creation for the new Stampin Sisters in Christ challenge to share with you.

This week's host is Peggysue.  Peggysue has chosen the verse:
Genesis 3:6 When the woman saw that the fruit of the tree was good for food and pleasing to the eye, and also desirable for gaining wisdom, she took some and ate it.

Not too long ago a friend of mine challenged me with the question:  "If God is a Loving God and He loves His people, why did He put a tree which was a temptation in the garden and allow Eve to eat from the tree of Good and Evil when He knew she would eat from it.  Doesn't God know all that is going to happen before it happens.  If a mother has a child she adores, does she put a marble on the floor that her child will grab and swallow or does she leave a burner on the stove on?"  That is a very difficult question and it took much thought to answer her.  Yes, God is a loving God and no he does want to harm us.  (I know the plans I have for you says the Lord, plans not to harm you but to give you hope and a future.) But....He has created us in His own image, above all others on His creation, He gave us a soul and a mind to make choices and think with.  If He did not allow us to make choices would we not be robots.  God gave Eve the choice then just as He gives us the choice now to trust in Him and believe in His promises even when temptation is in front of us.  God warned Eve about the tree and not to eat from it just as He talks to us through His word, the Bible.  I often wonder what life would be like if there was no sin or if Eve had not eaten from that tree.  ....How many of us would eat from that tree?  Are you listening to God's warnings and Word today or are you like Eve giving it to the temptations of life?

Peggysue's Challenge:
Dig in your stash and use one of your oldest stamp sets, one that hasn't seen any use for a long while.

This was a difficult challenge for me since I have packed almost all my stamps away.  I had to go through and unpack some of my boxes in order to participate this week.  I chose the light house from the oldest stamp set from Our Daily Bread Designs- Light of the World as my older set and combined it with the sentiment from Warm Wishes.  The window die is also from Our Daily Bread Designs.  The card is distressed and sewn.  The image is colored with copics and the sky is sponged.

Card Recipe:
Stamps:  Our Daily Bread Designs: Warm Wishes, Light of the World
Dies: ODBD Window die
Paper: My Mind's Eye Holiday Damask, bitter chocolate, kraft,
Accessories: Twill from Stampin Up, lace from stash

I hope you enjoyed my creation.

Happy Sunday All!! I hope you are all enjoying the weekend!!  It has really changed a lot in a week's time from a Fall weekend to SNOW!!! Yuck! The poor trees have not even lost their leaves and now the snow is on them.  The branches are sagging from the weight.

*Edited to include*-  Well we just got our power back after losing it last night.  It really is incredible the amount of snow we got....over 13 inches!!! Yikes!! So Pretty but yet so destructive.  So many trees have broken branches.  With all the snow, we will never know the amount of destruction.

Today it is time for another Stampin Sisters in Christ challenge.  This week's hostess is the sweet and talented Lisa!!

Lisa has chose the verse:

Isaiah 1:18 "'Come now, and let us reason together, says the Lord. Though your sins are like scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they are red like crimson, they shall be as wool.

As winter approaches and the holidays creep closer, I often wonder how many realize that this verse is the crux of the Christmas season.  If you think about the colors, red, green and white, what do they mean?  The red stands for our sins that is paid with Christ's blood.  While our sins leave a stain, Christ's blood washes them away like pure snow.  What a gift of Grace!!!!  We don't earn Grace but although unworthy, He has given us the gift of GRACE!  The green stands for everlasting life.  If you believe in Christ as Savior and what He has done for you on the cross, dying for you and taking all your sins away, then you shall have everlasting life.  What joy!!  Is there a greater gift?  We have no fear of tomorrow as a Christian.  Yes, our lives will have our ups and downs and maybe more downs than ups but Christ made it possible for us to have Eternal life (yes we will die from our earthly lives but we have the opportunity to live forever in our heavenly home with Jesus who loves us even more than we love ourselves).  Through the ups and downs, God promises to stay with us!  Is there any greater comfort?

Lisa's challenge:
Use fall colors in your creation: crimson, orange and gold (or similar)

Here is my take on the challenge using a sneak peek from Our Daily Bread Designs: Winter Wishes.  While this set is primarily Christmas with an adorable snowman, this set has this beautiful verse which I felt is appropriate for this verse, Thanksgiving, Christmas or anytime of year. The lace is from my stash, and I used Spellbinder's Ornate Artisian Tags & Accents for my sentiment panel layered on Fleur De Lis Rectangles.  The flowers are punched from a small and large hydrangea punch from Martha Stewart. I created the flowers using a tutorial from my dear friend Pat Smethers.  You can find her tutorial here.  The Neenah White paper is embossed with a Cuttlebug Leaf folder and then sewn.

I hope you enjoyed my creation.

Happy Sunday All!! I hope you are all enjoying the weekend!!  The weather is beautiful here.  Feels like summer!!

Today it is time for another Stampin Sisters in Christ challenge.  This week's hostess is the sweet and talented Lovely Linda!!

Linda has chose the verse:
Mark 10:27 And Jesus looking upon them saith, With men it is impossible, but not with God: for with God all things are possible.

How many people do you know who have cancer or are being treated for some sort of illness.   When we think of them being healed, do we think of the treatments who are doing the healing or the doctors or God?  Some of the most difficult times and struggles in life can't be fixed by humans.  Only God can!!The world economy...the USA economy...the morals of our country and how our country is rejecting God can be fixed by God and not man alone.  We are too small...we are his tools.

Linda's challenge: Anything Goes!!

Here is my take on the challenge using the Joy Tree image from Our Daily Bread Designs.  The image/sentiment was stamped in distressed green (Tim Holtz).  The panel was sewn in gold to create a decorative edge.  The ribbon is dyed olive green seam binding from my dear friend Sabrina (thanks Sabrina!).  The designer paper is Basic Grey Boxer. The ornaments are K&Co. stickers that I have had in my stash for a loooooong time. The ecru lace is from Joann's. The other green lace is May Arts and it is from my dear friend Ann Vento (thanks Ann!)

I hope you enjoyed my creation.
