Hello friends!!!
Today I have a sneak peak of the upcoming dies, stamps and papers from Our Daily Bread Designs to be shared with you!!   I love the new Faith paper to be released from Our Daily Bread Designs on Tuesday, some of my panels had to be smaller to allow the gorgeous image to not be covered.

The Cross sentiment and Flourish Border Label as well as the Ornamental Cross Die and Vintage Flourish Pattern dies are from Our Daily Bread Designs and will be released on Tuesday. The only die or stamp used that is available currently is the Decorative Corner Die.

This verse or sentiment has such a powerful message and is wonderful as we prepare our hearts and minds for Easter.  There is no greater love than laying down your life.

John 15:13
Greater love has no man than this , than a man lay down his life for his friends

By these words our Lord shows, how far love to another should extend, even to the laying down of our lives for the brethren; which is the highest instance of love among men;
that a man lay down his life for his friends; and in which believers, should not come short of them; and also his great love to his people, and explains what he had just said, "as I have loved you", John 13:34; which in a little time would be seen, by his laying down his life for them.

He not only came down from heaven, and laid aside his glory and royal majesty, but he laid down his life; not his gold and silver, and the riches of this world, which were all his, but his life; than which, nothing is dearer to a man, is himself, his all.

Christ's life was not a common one, it was not the life of an innocent person only, or the life of a mere man, but of a man in union with the Son of God; it was the Lord of glory and Prince of life, who was crucified, and slain.  His life had never been forfeited by sin, nor could it have been forced away from him by men or devils as is seen when He was tempted by the devil himself on the mountain. It was laid down of and by himself, freely and voluntarily; and that "for", in the room, and instead of his people, as a ransom for them; he being their surety and substitute, and standing in their legal place and stead.  We deserved to die and be separated from God but yet in order for us to be forgiven by God, Jesus had to be our mediator.  He gave all He had for us!! What a sacrifice and what love!!

Have a blessed day!!

Hello Friends!! I hope you are all having a wonderful week!  Mine has been quite busy!!  It seems like the week has lasted forever.....but TODAY IS FRIDAY!!  I so look forward to the weekends when I don't have to wake up at 4 and we can share time with the family!!!

Since I have not posted anything since Tuesday, I thought I should share another creation today!!
Our Daily Bread Designs recently had an Anniversary Release.  I just love the sentiments, quotes, and verses from the release!!

My first card uses the Scripture Collection 12 verse chosen as a favorite by my dear friend Grace.  What a comforting verse!!  I wanted to make a card that could be sent to a couple and not meant specifically for a lady.  It has fancy edges but no elegant embellishing.  The scene is created with Keep Climbing from Our Daily Bread Designs.  The top part of the sentiment is framed with the ODBD Elegant Ovals die.

The card dies include Timeless Rectangles, Majestic Labels 25 and Radiant Rectangles from Spellbinders.

Here is another creation but a bit more simplistic or CAS using Sentiment Collection 3 from ODBD and the Spellbinders Cherry Blossoms dies:

You still have time to play!!! This week's challenge is Anything with ODBD stamps at the ODBD Shining the Light challenge...you must use Our Daily Bread Designs stamps to participate but other than that...just have fun!!  This challenge will be two weeks so you have until April 6 to join us!!

I hope you are in some way inspired by my project!

Have a blessed weekend!!

Happy Thursday all!! I hope today finds you all well!!  Today I am popping in to share a card I made for fun.  The weather has been so yucky lately and dreary that I just had to make a brighter or more chipper creation.

I used yesterday's sketch challenge at Splitcoast since it is perfect for using an embossing folder I recently received from a very special friend!! I had a blast coloring the Pavillion Rose design from the embossing folder with my copics.

The sentiment is from the beautiful Sentiments 3 collection set recently released at Our Daily Bread Designs for their 6th Anniversary.

Thanks for stopping by and for your comments!! I truly appreciate them.

Hello Friends!!

Yesterday marked the 6th Anniversary of ODBD being in business.  In celebration the Shining the Light Challenge Team at Our Daily Bread Designs is having challenges each week of March related to the Anniversary.

This week's challenge is to use 6 of something on your creation.  It can be six words, six stamps, 6 layers, six pearls, six flowers and etc.

I made two cards for today's challenge.

Yesterday Our Daily Bread Designs celebrated their 6th year Anniversary and had a new release of many Beautiful quotes, scripture and sentiments!!  For my first creation I just had to use one of my fave quotes which I feel is a great reminder.  It has 6 words....

Resting and letting have God have total control is very difficult.  I sometimes feel like I should help him along...but that is not faith...

Card Recipe
ODBD Stamps Used: Quote Collection 4
Embossing folder- Darice Flourished Leaves
Paper: My Mind's Eye

Here is my creation using six stamps and dies from Our Daily Bread Designs.

Card Recipe:
Stamps: Sweeter Than Honey, Zinnia
Dies:ODBD Beautiful Borders, ODBD Elegant Ovals, ODBD Custom Zinnia and Leaves dies, Ornate Borders and flowers dies
Paper: Blooming Garden Collection
Embossing Folder: Darice Honeycomb

What a powerful verse.  While David is talking about God's sweet words, all words have the ability to encourage or tear down.  Many have heard the old adage "Sticks and stones may break my bones but names will never hurt me."  How untrue!!  Words do and can kill.  In the same way that hurtful words can harm, kind words encourage.

Can you encourage someone to day with a kind word?

Word Art Wednesday: Inspirational scripture, quotes or sentiments
Monday, March 17, 2014
Hi Friends!!

I hope all are doing well!!  I am so excited today to be sharing a special release for Our Daily Bread Designs 6th Anniversary!! Today ODBD has been open for business for 6 years!! Each year the team compiles their favorite verses, sentiments and quotes and Kelley creates stamp sets available to the public including those favorites on the Anniversary date!! It is one of my very favorite releases and sets of stamps each year!!!  You won't want to miss the inspiration from the team using these sets!!!

Three winners will be randomly chosen from the comments left on the designers blogs to receive a $25 Gift Certificate to the ODBD Store, to be used toward the purchase of ODBD Stamps; ONE lucky random commenter will be randomly chosen to win the 2014 Anniversary Bundle!  You have until March 18, 2014 at 9:00 p.m. EDT to leave your comments! The Winners will be posted on the ODBD Blog on March 19th, so be sure to check back to see if you won!

For my first creation I used my favorite sentiment or contribution to the sets: "His Mercies are New every Morning!!"  based on the verse from Lamentations.

Lamentations 3: 22-23
The steadfast love of the Lord never ceases:
his mercies never come to an end;
they are new every morning;
great is your faithfulness.

My second creation uses a sentiment from the same collection: Sentiments Collection 3, Hummingbird and ODBD Custom Hummingbird die as well as uses the Blooming Garden Collection, and Beautiful Borders.

Hello Friends!!

I hope everyone is doing well!! Today is the second week of Anniversary challenges at Our Daily Bread Designs.

This week's challenge is to use purple, lavender or Amethyst on your creation since the Anniversary stone for a 6 year Anniversary is Amethyst.

Here is my creation:

I had a blast coloring up my Bee Balm in Lavender and Purple!!!  I wanted to create some texture and interest so I embossed the background in Sizzix Circles and Dots and used the shape of Decorative Labels 28 and Labels 28.  In order to keep the card standing I made a straight bottom on the back panel.  The sentiment is from Earth's Gladdest Day.

Easter will be here before we know it although it comes later this year so I thought it time to begin some spring/Easter cards.

To me it is no surprise that Easter occurs in Spring as the flowers and plants experience new life once again.  What symbolism!!  We too can receive new life through the death and resurrection of our Lord and Savior.  What a gift of new life if we only believe.

John 11:25-26
Jesus said to her, "I am the resurrection and the life.  He who believes in me will live, even though he dies; and whoever lives and believes in me will never die.

1 Peter 1:3
Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ!  In his great mercy He has given us new birth into a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead...

As we see the new life sprout around us, we have so much to rejoice in!!!!

Happy Thursday All!! I can't believe how the week is flying by!! The weekend is soon approaching!!!
Today I am popping in to share a card I made just for fun using my friend Cathy's sketch at Splitcoast Stampers yesterday.

I  immediately thought it was perfect for a masculine card!! I often need masculine thinking of you cards. Lately it seems so many are affected with cancer in our church or around me. I need to have more thinking of you cards on hand.

I had fun coloring up the Waves of the Sea image from Our Daily Bread Designs with copics and painting water with acrylics. This verse is one of my favorites for comfort and it is from ODBD Scripture Collection 2.

I hope you are in some way inspired by my project!

Hello Friends!!

I hope everyone is doing well!!  It is now March and hopefully Spring will be here soon.  I am so longing for the sunshine, warmth and flowers!!  I guess I have been experiencing the winter blahs!!

To cheer my mood, I decided to go with pastels and flowers for this week's Shining the Light challenge at ODBD which is to use metal and/or sweets on your creation.

Our Daily Bread Designs, Zinnia, Daisy Chain Background, Beautiful Borders, Zinnia and Leaves Dies, Chris Olsen

This past week, ODBD released some gorgeous dies and stamps which I used for today's card.

The background is created with the Daisy Chain Background.  The Zinnia is colored with copics and cut out with the custom Zinnia and Leaves die.  The border along the bottom is the Beautiful Borders die from ODBD.

The Zinnia is layered on and with the Decorative Labels 28 die from Spellbinders.

My piece of metal is the brads in the center.

*******************************

As the snow covers the ground and so many yearn for spring, it is so easy to get in a slump to look for the negative rather than the joy in life.  It is not a part of God's plan, however, for us to not trust in Him and see the joy in life.  Sure there are times when life gets us down...we are human.  Do you know how important God feels it is for us to be joyful in Him?  Joy is mentioned over 826 times in the Bible!!

so...

Rejoice in the Lord always. I will say it again: Rejoice!
Phil. 4:4

This is the Day that the Lord has made; We will rejoice and be glad in it.

Psalm 118:24

My goal is to be Joyful today and share that joy with others!!
