Happy Tuesday all!! I hope you are all enjoying the spring weather!!  After a very rainy weekend, the sun is out yet again!!  This is the day the Lord has made, let us rejoice and be glad in it.  When you look at  creation you can't help but the see the magnificence of it all!!  The birds are singing, the flowering trees are blooming, the grass is vibrant green, butterflies are fluttering.....

With spring and cheery signs of spring and life, I have decided to share a card with scripture and flowers and life seen in spring this week for the Shining the Light challenge. This week's challenge is to use scripture (ODBDSLC236).

Our Daily Bread Designs, God Verses, Shabby Rose Collection, Elegant Ovals, Beautiful Borders, Designer Chris Olsen

ODBD Stamps Used: God Verses
ODBD Paper Used: Shabby Rose Collection
Other accessories: May Arts Ribbon, Gold charms, Darice Damask embossing folder, ZVA flourished pearls, Gold glitter paper

Draw near to God and He will draw near to you. James 4:8

In those times when life gets you down or throws you a curve ball, your closeness in your relationship to him is even more essential.  If you go through life depending on your own strength, rather than His, you tend to think you are on your own in this situation as well and don't have the comfort of having the All Powerful to lean upon.  Draw near to Him, read His Word, pray, whether times are tough or things seem to go smoothly and He will be there to direct your paths.

Trust in the Lord, with all your heart and lean not on thine own understanding, in all thy ways acknowledge him and He will direct your paths. Proverbs 3:5,6

Hello, Friends!!  I hope this spring is finding you all well!!  It is hard to believe that it is already almost 1.2 way through the month of April, almost a 1/4 of a year already.  Wow, does time fly.  The tulips and daffodils, as well as the flowering trees, are in full bloom here!! Even my daylilies are growing tremendously!!

Today I am popping in to share a card I made using this week's sketch at the Shining the Light challenge.  This is will go to, one of what seems many, that are not feeling well right now and could use a little prayer or a bit of cheer to perk up their day.

I just love the violets from The Lord Has Risen stamp set.  It was fun to color with Copics and fussy cut. The sentiment panel was stamped and then embossed with the Darice Clouds embossing folder.

Hello, Friends!! I hope everyone had a Blessed Easter!! What a glorious day!!

Today I am popping in to share a card I made for this week's Shining the Light challenge at ODBD, which is a color challenge!!

These colors seemed so fresh and springy to me, so while reflecting on God's Amazing Grace at Easter, I decided to make a spring themed card with a Stanza from Amazing Grace from ODBD's How Sweet the Sound stamp set.  I really thing this biblically based phrase would be perfect for someone who has lost a loved one.

The flowers are Bee Balm.  The lacey frame is created using pieces from the largest Layered Lacey Squares Die.  The sponged clouds were created with the Raindrops and Clouds die (the same as the die cut clouds).

Our Daily Bread Designs, How Sweet the Sound, Bee Balm, Raindrops and Cloud Dies, Layered Lacey Squares, designed by Chris Olsen

ODBD Stamps Used: How Sweet the SoundBee Balm

Amazing grace! How sweet the sound
That saved a wretch like me!
I once was lost, but now am found;
Was blind, but now I see.
’Twas grace that taught my heart to fear,
And grace my fears relieved;
How precious did that grace appear
The hour I first believed!

Through many dangers, toils and snares,
I have already come;
’Tis grace hath brought me safe thus far,
And grace will lead me home.

The Lord has promised good to me,
His Word my hope secures;
He will my Shield and Portion be,
As long as life endures.

Yea, when this flesh and heart shall fail,
And mortal life shall cease,
I shall possess, within the veil,
A life of joy and peace.

The earth shall soon dissolve like snow,
The sun forbear to shine;
But God, Who called me here below,
Will be forever mine.

When we’ve been there tenthousand years,
Bright shining as the sun,
We’ve no less days to sing God’s praise
Than when we’d first begun.

Our Daily Bread Designs, Umbrella die, How sweet the Sound, Blushing Rose Paper collection, Layered Lacey squares, designer-Chris Olsen, Twinkles Glow with Stamps

I had such fun layering the Fancy Foliage, Aster die Leaves, inside my umbrella to create a flower bouquet!!

The dp is from the ODBD Blushing Rose Collection.  The side of the card is created using the square from the Layered Lacey Squares die.

My second creation is a reverse gatefold I created (my own design) using the April Showers stamp set, umbrella die, and the Layered lacey Squares.  The designer paper is from the ODBD Shabby Rose Collection, except for the umbrella which uses some scraps.

In addition to the new release dies, I used the Aster die (leaves), Fancy Foliage, and Beautiful Borders dies from ODBD.  The rain drops are created using the rain drop die included in the Umbrella dies that I used like a stencil. The sides are created using the gilded gate dies.
