Hello All!! I hope you are having a great week!!  I am sorry for my absence.  Between packing, legal stuff for the house, and a computer that refuses to cooperate, I have been able to get on the computer like I would have liked.

Anywho...today I have a fun gift box to share with you using a beautiful sneak peek from Our Daily Bread Designs called Holiday Ornament tags which will be released on Saturday!!!!!   These tags coordinate with Spellbinders Holiday Ornament tags dies.  I just love the versatility of these stamps!!

For my gift box I used the Box #2 Big XL die from Stampin up.  These make the perfect gift to put just a few candies in or something.  My tags are embossed in gold and distressed with Tim Holtz Walnut Stain and outlined with a gold leafing pen.  The flower on the top of the box is made of felt.  I just love this emerald green ribbon from May Arts (available at Really Reasonable Ribbon here) but have had a hard time matching it up to my dp in my stash until today...isn't it a gorgeous color. The designer paper is DCWV Holiday Collection.  This pack is full of papers perfect for vintage creations and includes a lot of the kraft color.  The flower is made with felt.

This box is part of a set...I hope to show the rest of my set at the ODBD blog hop on Saturday.  We hope to see you there!!

Hi All!! I hope you all are having a great weekend!! Ours has been good but very busy.  I am downright exhausted after cleaning out our attic (what a bunch of stuff we have accumulated...Yikes!) and numerous closets and drawers I went through.  It is a good tired though since I feel like accomplished something.

Anywho...It is time for a Stampin Sisters in Christ challenge.  This week's hostess is my ever so dear friend, Grace.

Grace has chosen the verse:

John 16:33 "These things I have spoken to you, that in me you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation, but be of good cheer, I have overcome the world."

In these trying days there are so many trials...we look at one natural disaster after another, a bad national economy in many countries, illnesses, and etc.  These are all devastating and scary.  With the Lord's help we can conquer.  Does this mean life will be rosy if we have God in our lives?  No!  God does not promise us a life of ease but He does promise to give us hope and a future...this hope, however may not be earthly hope but rather heavenly.  God sometimes allows us to go through trials to grow closer to Him.  If life was easy, we would not need to trust in Him.  God is in control.  All things work together for good for those who put their trust in Him.

Grace has challenged us this week at Stampin Sisters to:
Create a card / project that either says "Blessings" or uses an encouraging Scripture.

Here is my take on the challenge using a sneak peek of Our Daily Bread Designs Holiday Ornaments to be released on October 1. This stamp set coordinates with Spellbinders Holiday Tags.  I embossed the ornament with gold embossing powder and cut it out with the Holiday Tags die and my Spellbinders Grand Caliber The designer paper is from Whimsy Stamps Holiday Folly designer paper.  I made this a spin card.

I hope you enjoyed my creation.

Be sure to check out  Grace's devotional on the SSIC Blog, as I know you'll be blessed!

I chose to create a card using a sneak peek from Our Daily Bread Designs called Joy Tree.  I just love it!!  Such a great stamps without any coloring.  Great for making a mass of Christmas cards or an elegant card for that someone special.
The sentiment/image is embossed in gold.  The ivory cs is dry embossed with the Sizzix embossing folder.  The lace is from Jo Anne Crafts and the ribbon is from May Arts (burgundy silk).  The card is framed with gold glitter paper.

Happy Monday Everyone!! I hope you had a great weekend!!

Today I am popping in again with another new product spotlight at Stamp and Create.  This week's product spotlight is something I treasure and use all of the time for most of my creations: The Bow Easy!!!!  This week it will be available for 25% off!!!

I wanted to create something different than a card this week so I created a gift box using the Darling Daisies stamp set illustrated by Crissy Armstrong for Whimsy Stamps and the Whimsy Summer Letter Seals (designed by Ann Vento of Raindrop Echo Designs) as well as the Tea Tabbed Template from My Time Made Easy.The image is colored with copics and mounted on Spellbinders Classic and Scalloped Circles.  The bow uses May Arts Satin Ivory Reversible Ribbon and the bow easy.  The designer paper is Prima Botanical (another fave!!).

 For more inspiration using the Bow Easy, please visit my talented dt sisters: JoyLaceyHeidiVicky and  Jeanette.

Happy Sunday Everyone!! I hope you are having a great weekend!!

Today I have the honor of being this week's hostess at Stampin Sisters in Christ. I chose one of my
favorite verses for this week's devotional and challenge: He who waits upon the Lord shall renew their strength, they shall mount up on wings like eagles. Isaiah 40:31

How many of us go through life thinking we are in total control or our own destiny when all the sudden we hit some difficulty whether it be health wise for us or a loved one, financial, difficulty with raising a child, or etc.  Where does our help come from then?  To read more of my devotional you can click here.

Although most of my devotional is on the Stampin Sisters in Christ post, I would like to share a very enlightening or inspiring poem I found left to me by my dear mother in law (who is now in Heaven with her Saviour).

YOU MUST WAIT

Desperately, helplessly, longingly I cried:
Quietly, patiently, lovingly God replied.
I pled and I wept for a clue to my fate,
And the Master so gently said, “Child you must wait.”
Wait, you say wait,” my indignant reply.
“Lord I need answers. I need to know why!
Is your hand shortened or have you not heard?
By faith I have asked and am claiming your Word.
My future and all of which I can relate
Hangs in the balance and YOU tell me WAIT?
I’m needing a ‘Yes”, a go-ahead sign,
Or even a ‘No’ to which I can resign.
And Lord, you promised that if we believe
We need but to ask and we shall receive.
And Lord, I’ve been asking and this is my cry”
I’m weary of asking! I need a reply.”
Then quietly, softly I learned of my fate
As my Master relied once again, “You must wait.”
So I slumped in my chair, defeated and taut and
Grumble to God, “So I am waiting for what?”
He seemed the to kneel and His eyes wept with mine,
And He tenderly said, “I could give you a sign.
I could shake the heavens and darken the sun,
I could raise the dead, cause the mountains to run.
All you seek I could give, and please you would be.
You would have what you want, but you wouldn’t know Me.
You’d not know the depth of My love for each saint;
You’d not know the power that I give the faint;
You’d not learn to see through clouds of despair;
You’d not learn to trust just by knowing I’m there;
You knot know the joy of resting in Me
When darkness and silence were all you could see;
You would never experience that fullness of love
As the peace of my Spirit descends like a dove;
But you’d not know the depth of the beat of My heart,
The glow of My comfort, late in the night,
The faith that I give when you walk without sight,
Of an infinite God, who makes what you have LAST.
What it means that ‘My grace is sufficient for thee!’
But oh the loss, if I lost what I’m doing in you!

The challenge I chose for this week at Stampin Sisters in Christ challenge:

Use wings and a biblical verse or quote on your creation

This week's Sponsor  is Our Daily Bread Designs who is offering a $15 gift certificate for one random participant of this week's challenge.

For my creation I used the Scripture Series 2 and Scrolly Borders from Our Daily Bread Designs to make a card of encouragement for a friend who recently had serious surgery on her back.  She will be layed up for months and is in severe pain. I hope this card puts a smile on her face, knowing others are praying for her.

The designer paper is Basic Grey Curio paper.  The verse is frame with the Spellbinders Fancy Tags Two which I cut twice to frame (oval die). The bouquet is created with a crocheted doily and prima flowers.

I hope you enjoyed my creation.

Be sure to check out  Rebecca's devotional on the SSIC Blog, as I know you'll be blessed!
