Happy Hump Day Everyone!! I hope you all have been having a good week!!

Today I have  a couple projects to share with you for a few different challenges.
First, is this week's Whiff of Joy Challenge... This week the team is challenging you to create a shaped card or project that is not square or rectangle! Here is my take on this week's challenge:
  • For my creation I used the WOJ Willow with Hot cocoa image and the grab a cup template from Lauren Meader's My Time Made Easy store.  The designer paper is from Prima's Sparkling Spring collection.  I colored the image with copics and framed it in the classic circles and Lacey circles dies from Spellbinders.  The white background is embossed with Cuttlebug's Spots folder.  The ribbon is May Arts and it tied with the Bow Easy.  The butterflies are punched with a Martha Stewart Classic Butterfly punch.  The button is from Recollections and the flowers are from ZVA Creative.
For more inspiration for the Whiff of Joy Challenge with the "Buttons and blooms" theme, please visit my dt sisters:

My next creation is for both the Creative Belli and the Your Next Stamp Challenge since both challenges involved stitching!!
This week's Your Next Stamp challenge  hostess is my sweet and talented dt sister, Beth, and she has challenged us to use faux or real stitching on our creations.
This week's Creative Belli Challenge is to think like a seamstress.  Use things a seamstress would use....stitching, buttons, seam binding, ribbon, zippers, velcro.....
Here is my creation for this challenge using the Easter Egg Tree image from Your Next Stamp.  The image is colored in copics.  The shape of the card uses the Labels 10 Spellbinders die.  The background is embossed with the Spots folder from Provocraft.  The button is from Recollections. The ribbbon is May Arts Silk ribbon tied with the bow easy.  I added sparkle to the frame which is hard to see in this photo, but if you click on it, you can see it much better.

Happy Monday Everyone!! I hope you all had a great weekend!!  It was a great weekend spending time with my girls, hubby and inlaws!! It is such a blessing to see my step mother in law recovering so well from her recent surgery...almost back to her usual self..just tires more easily.

Anywho...I am popping in to share this week's Stamp and Create Product Spotlight.  This week's spotlight is Sports Theme.  That means any stamps in the store with the Sports Theme are up to 25% off!!

    Here is my creation:

I made this card for my neighbor's son who just turned 12.  He is very big into sports, especially basketball.

I used Slam Dunk from Wags n Whiskers for  my creation. I also used the Whimsy Birthday Wish List stamp for the front of the card. The papers are from Basic Grey Marakech and from my scrap bin.  The image is colored with copics.  I used leather for embellishing to give it a more masculine feel.  The border on the bottom is using a Stampin Up Scallops punch.

For the inside, I used the Whimsy Balloon sentiments designed by Raindrop Echo Designs and the Balloon Shapeology die.

For more inspiration using Sports Themed stamps available at Stamp and Create, please visit my dt sisters:

Happy Sunday Everyone!! I hope you are all having a great weekend!!  It has been chilly but at least sunny here. This weekend I have not done much in the way of crafting but rather having some family time.  It has been nice to spend time together.  I do hope to do some crafting this p.m. though.

Today is another Stampin Sisters in Christ challenge and this week's host is the sweet and talented Lisa!!
    Lisa chose the verse:
Philippians 4:6-7 "Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus."

This is one of my fave verses because I think I tend  to worry a lot.  What a comfort to know that He is there when I pray to carry me through both the difficult and good times!!

When I think of this verse, I think of my fave poem, Footprints.  This was also one of my mother in laws favorites and it brought her great comfort when she was dying from cancer.  To me it is such a comforting poem, so I would like to share it with you today.

    Footprints
One night a man had a dream. He dreamed He was walking along the beach with the LORD. Across the sky flashed scenes from His life. For each scene He noticed two sets of footprints in the sand. One belonging to Him and the other to the LORD.

When the last scene of His life flashed before Him, he looked back at the footprints in the sand. He noticed that many times along the path of His life there was only one set of footprints. He also noticed that it happened at the very lowest and saddest times of His life.

This really bothered Him and He questioned the LORD about it. LORD you said that once I decided to follow you, you'd walk with me all the way. But I have noticed that during the most troublesome times in my life there is only one set of footprints. I don't understand why when I needed you most you would leave me.

The LORD replied, my precious, precious child, I Love you and I would never leave you! During your times of trial and suffering when you see only one set of footprints, it was then that I carried you.

    Carolyn Carty, 1963

Lisa has challenged us to use
A different kind of peace... piece... as in paper piecing. Use paper piecing in the main image of your card/project.

Here is my creation for this challenge using the adorable Valerie Spring Rain (illustrated by Crissy Armstrong) and Spring Seals (designed by Ann Vento) available at Whimsy Stamps.

I paper pieced and colored the image with copics.  The dp is from Prima Sparkling Spring.  The punched border is Martha Stewart Shells border. I added rhinestones and pearls to the inside of each shell.  The seal is framed with a classic and scalloped circle from Spellbinders. The image also is framed with the classic circles but it also is framed with the lacey circles from Spellbinders.  The bow is made with May Arts Wrinkled White ribbon and the bow easy.

Our Sponsor this week is Technique Junkies Newsletter! WooHoo!
The prize is a one year subscription to the newsletter!
We want to thank them for their generosity!

Lisa, our dt sister has also opened up a new store called the Craft's Meow with some very cute stamps!!!  She has decided to offer a second prize this week.....a set of the three Little Frieda stamps to one of our players!!!

Here is my creation for the challenge:

For my creation I used the ODBD sets: Scripture Collection 5 and Fancy Labels.
The frame was embossed in gold on Sparkling Spring paper (Prima).  The background dp is also Sparkly Spring.  The scrolls on the bottom and top of my sentiment panel are using the Spellbinders Fancy tags die.  The Fancy Labels stamp from ODBD coordinates with Spellbinders Labels 17 die.  The oval in the middle of the fancy frames stamp is gold glitter paper cut out with my Spellbinders Petite ovals die (large and small).   The roses are Wild Orchids.  If you click on the photo, you can see the dry embossing.

I also made this card to fit the Stamping in Time challenge which is "New".  I used a new product which is my new hat pin from my dear friend Sabrina and the pearls which are new Recollections flourishes available at Michaels.

I plan to send this card to  a dear friend who has cancer and is receiving chemo right now.

    Card recipe:
stamps: ODBD sets: Scripture Collection 5 and Fancy Labels
Paper: Prima Sparkling Spring embossed with Soft Swirls from Provocraft, black, Blushing Bride
Accessories: Labels 17 spellbinders, Petite ovals (lg and sm) from Spellbinders, Soft Swirls embossing folder, Wild Orchids Flowers, May Arts White Wrinkled ribbon, Recollection Pearl Flourishes, crystal gems, tear drop lace from Stamp and Create, hat pin from my friend Sabrina

Hi All!!  Sorry I have been missing for the last few days.  I have so busy trying to catch up from last week when I had such a busy crafting week and also take a brief break.  I have been feeling a little stressed lately.  The respite was indeed good for me.  Still lots of spring  cleaning to go...Only problem is, that it really is not spring here yet. LOL!  Snow, snow and more snow.....Please stop and go away.

I made this card when looking out the wintery weather on the outside....One can dream, right?  Yes, it would be nice to be watering my flowers.

I just love the bright and fun colors of the My Mind's Eye Tickled Pink pad which my dear friend Crystal sent to me in a RAK.  Isn't she the sweetest?!

The layout of my card uses the Sweet Stop sketch for this week.  The image is Ellie Loves to Garden from Your Next Stamp.  I colored the image with copics and sponged the clouds with a scalloped circle and my SU Baja Breeze ink.

Happy Monday Everyone!!  I hope you all had a great weekend!!  It just goes so fast.  Our spring did too....it is snowing here. LOL!  Nice 60 to 70 degree weather and then snow...Go figure...

Anywho...I am not and warm in my home homeschooling the girls again today and then it is time to do some more CLEANING, and then hopefully some more crafting and blogging!!

Today I wanted to share another creation made with some fun images from Stamp and Create.  Lacey is still in the process of moving.  The poor girl...what a lot of unpacking and settling in as well as orders to send out! Thinking of you Lacey.  While she is doing this, however, the dt is still busy creating.

For today I wanted to share a Thinking of you card I made for someone in need.

I used Say a Prayer from Wags n Whiskers and the new Whimsy Postage Stamp Sentiments. The sentiment is cut out with the Whimsy Shapeology Postage Stamp Die.  The bow is tied with the Bow Easy.
The paper is one of my fave retired papers from Stampin up, Parisian Breeze.  And...yes ... there is a handmade crocheted flower on there too.  I made them in white so I could dye them to the colors I want or layer it with a colored flower over top.

It has been a while since I water colored so I took out my water colors for this one.  The wings are sparkly but it is hard to see in this photo.  If I were to color her again, I would make her cheeks a little less rosie....oh well.

Hi All!! If you are here for the Whimsy Hop click here.

Happy Sunday Everyone!! I hope you all have been having a great weekend.  I have been a little down for some unknown reason and definitely lacking mojo...I also have been in a cleaning frenzy.  My poor husband said if he did not get out of the way quick, I may throw him out too.  Yes...I filled up our HUGE garbage can with all the...."may need this sometime so I will save it..."  Felt good to get rid of some of the clutter.

Anywho...today is another Stampin Sisters in Christ challenge.  This week's challenge is hosted by my dear sweet friend, Grace!!

    Grace chose the verse:

Matt. 6:6 "But you, when you pray, go into your inner room, close your door and pray to your Father who is in secret, and your Father who sees what is done in secret will reward you."

God does not want us to pray or talk with Him so others can see but He wants our one on one time.  He wants to befriend us and spend quality time with Him.   Do you have quiet time with your Saviour?  A relationship is built on communication.  Are you strengthening your relationship with your Saviour by speaking with Him on a daily basis.

    Grace challenges us to:
Create a card or project that has something hidden from first view. It could be many things... an envelope, a pull out, doors that open to reveal something, a Joy Fold, Flip Flop, Magic, Slider...anything that you don't see at first glance.

This week's sponsor is Our Daily Bread Designs!!  They are offering a $15 Gift certificate to one lucky challenge participant!!

When I made my creation for this challenge, I had totally forgotten that ODBD was the sponsor and neglected to use some of my beloved ODBD stamps!  Sorry!  Most weeks I do....

For my creation I used some of the new fun releases from Whimsy stamps.  I created a Joy Fold card which has a hidden opening on it.  The stamps I used are the new Spring Seals as well as Fragrant Rose.
The designer paper is from Prima Botanical!!

The Spring Seal is cut out and then framed with a Spellbinders Scalloped Circle.

The punch I used on the edge is a Martha Stewart Shells Border punch.

My next creation is just for fun and for the Whoopsi Daisy Challenge!!  This week's challenge is to make something for Easter.  I just adored Linnie's rabbit on sheet 226 so I had to create an Easter Basket with her.  Since these were digis, I could make two different sizes like a mom and her copycat daughter...
I colored them with copics.  The basket is created with a template from Leigh Ann Baird at Perfect Presentations called Spring Basket.  They are so fun to make!!

The grass was created with a Martha Stewart Scissor specially made for fringes or grass.  I dry embossed each picket with a distressed stripes embossing folder. The handle is also punched with a MS punch.  Each flower has a rhinestone or gem in the center.  The ribbon is SU Bermuda Bay (on the handle strip).  The sheer dotted ribbon is from Celebrate (available at Michaels).  The candy is Reeses Pieces in a carrot bag.

Happy Friday Everyone!! The weekend is here!! Woo hoo!!  Today is going to be a beautiful warm spring...tomorrow is rain, rain and more rain and cold.  I hope to enjoy the sunshine today.

Today I would like to share the new challenge at Wags n Whiskers hosted by the sweet and talented Angelique!!  Angelique challenges us to create a card or project that is inspired by spring (it can be colors, flowers, outdoor animals...). We hope you can all join in!!

Wags n Whiskers challenges are every other week.

This will give you more time to be able to participate with our challenges.

One random participant will win a Wags 'n Whiskers Rubber stamp of your choice.
You can still use any stamp you would like, but if you use a Wags 'n Whiskers image, you will also be entered into a separate drawing for a free Wags 'n Whiskers Digital Stamp.
    For my creation.....
I used Easter Blessings from Wags n Whiskers ( this is available as rubber or digi) illustrated by Crissy Armstrong which I  colored with copics. Rather than make a card, I decided to make an Easter gift.  The image is framed with a sparkly glittered circle punched with the Lacey Circles Spellbinders die.  The image is mounted on a piece of Die Cuts with a View- Home stack paper.  The bow is made with the bow easy and May Arts ribbon.  The flowers are from ZVA Creative (I just love this blue!!!).  Between the flowers is a Recollections Button.

    And now for my creation....

The verse I chose is Lamentations 3:24 from the Scripture 5 Collection.  I framed it with the new Fancy Labels stamp set which coordinates with the Labels 17 die from Spellbinders!  The gorgeous dp is from the Susan Winget -K and Co. Collection.  I just love hydrangeas and these colors!!  The verse is cut out with the Petite Ovals nestabilities.  The butterflies are a recent find from Michaels.  The stick pin and lace is from Wild Orchids.

    card recipe:
stamps: Our Daily Bread Designs: Scripture 5 collection, Fancy Labels stamp set
Paper: K and Co., gold glitter paper, black, blue
Tools: Grand Caliber machine, piercer, sewing machine, Labels 17 die from Spellbinders, Spellbinders Petite ovals (large and small)
Accessories: Wild Orchid lace and stick pin, May Arts Ribbon, butterflies, blue rhinestones

Thanks for stopping by!! I hope you enjoyed my creation!!  This is the last stop....please hop on over to the ODDB blog and let us know you completed the hop and answer the question there.

    Have a great day!!

    blessings,

For my blog hop creation I used ...... Valerie and Kittie Sitting to create an easel card gift box. The sentiment is from the newly released Spring Seals collection which I framed in the Fancy tags label die (It says friends are flowers that never fade.)The image is colored with copics.  The designer paper is from my most treasured Prima pack- Madeline except for the drawer lining which is Stampin Up retired paper. The bow is tied with the bow easy and uses Rose Silk Ribbon. Since this project has so many sides and details, I am including a few different pictures.

I hope you enjoyed my creation today and are inspired in some way.
To continue the hop, hop on over to Marley's blog.
