Hi All!! I hope everyone is ready for the holidays.  I am still scurrying around trying to finish up the Christmas preparations.  I thank God for my time in Church and all the wonderful Christmas activities that help me to reflect on the Savior's birth.  It is so easy to get caught up in the holiday traditions and leave the true meaning of Christmas on the back burner.  Thanks be to God for the best Christmas present ever...His Son.

Today I want to share a card I made as a Thank you for some dear people in my life who have blessed us with their Christmas love.

I made this card for Friday's F4148 Simply Thank You and this week's Our Daily Bread Designs Shining the Light challenge which is to use snowflakes. I used the stamp sets Small Snowflake Background ,Sparkling Snowflakes , and Mini Tags 2 Stamp sets from Our Daily Bread Designs. The snowflakes are cut out with the Customized Snowflake die only available at ODBD. The "thank you" sentiment and frame around it were cut out with the Ribbon Tag Trio Three dies from Spellbinders.

The images were stamped in Night of Navy craft ink and embossed in Kaleidoscope Glittery Embossing powder.

I hope this creation, has somehow inspired you.

Thanks for stopping by!! I treasure all my viewers/blogging friends and their comments.

Have a blessed Day!!!

If you came here from Grace's  amazing blog, you are in the right place.  If not, you may want to start at the beginning (the ODBD Blog) so you don't miss any of the inspiration along the way.

For my creation, I used the Best Seller Scripture Collection 3 and Flower Border.  With my dear hubby being laid off a couple of weeks ago and no employment yet on the horizon, the verse I chose is especially near and dear to my heart.  It is the tough times that we need to realize that God is in control.

The card I created is a case of my dear friend Grace's Friend's Quilt.  I changed the colors, added stitching and added some of my own Chris touches.

The Flower Border was cut out with the Spellbinders Labels 18 which is a perfect fit!!

Card Recipe:
Stamps: Flower Border, Scripture Collection 3
Dies: Spellbinders Labels 18, Classic Squares, Fancy Tags 3
Paper: K and Co. Christmas, Basic Grey
Ribbon: May Arts Black Silk

Here are the pictures of the stamps and compatible dies used available at Our Daily Bread Designs:

Thanks for stopping by, I hope in some way you are inspired by my creation!!  For more inspiration, the next stop on the hop is sweet Lisa.

Happy Tuesday Friends!!

I hope all are doing well and are well on their way to being prepared for Christmas.  I am still working on Christmas cards.  We have been enjoying a lot of singing and programs at church for the holidays.  It is so fun to see all the activities focusing on the Savior's birth!! What a time of rejoicing!!

The card is created using the Our Daily Bread Designs stamps: Snowflake Background, Snowflake SentimentsSparkling Snowflake.

The other layers were created using the Snowflake Background embossed on white with Night of Navy Craft ink and Kaleidoscope embossing powder and Kaleidoscope embossing powder on white.

The sentiment is from the  Snowflake Sentiments (from ODBD).

The snowflakes themselves themselves were created with Sparkling Snowflakes (from ODBD) embossed in white on hard recycled plastic and cut out by hand. The pearls are ZVA Creative.

Happy Tuesday all!! I am so sorry for taking so long to post any of my creations.  This week has been both a joyful and stressful week.  Just this past Monday, my dear hubby found out he was laid off from his job.  After just moving here 8 months ago, it is very frightening.  Since I don't have a job either, it really adds to the stress.  Thankfully we know that is in control!!!  He knows our needs and we can go to Him in prayer.  I know He will provide if we Wait on Him.  With this news, this meant that we not only had to prepare for the Holiday Tour at Our House on Sunday but also to begin putting applications out.

The tour was fun and a real success!!  I hope to share photos of a few of our decorations in our new home tomorrow or Thursday.

Today I would like to share a card that I made for the Shining the Light challenge at Our Daily Bread Designs which is to use the letters from the word NOEL.

For my creation I used: N- Navy and Nestabilities, O-Oval, E-Embossing, L- Layers

The image is stamped in craft or pigment ink and then embossed with Kaleidoscope embossing powder.

Card Recipe:
Stamps: Our Daily Bread Designs- Away in a Manger
Dies: Spellbinders Oval (Petite scalloped and classic). A2 Dots
Accessories: May Arts Ribbon White, Navy ink, Kaleidoscope embossing powder

Hello Friends!! I hope you all have had a great weekend!! Sorry that I am posting  so late today but I ran out of time writing a tutorial for my viewers.  I had several requests for a tutorial on how to make the Ornament treat box I posted last week.

So today I wanted to share how I made it but instead of using the ODBD ornament, I used the new release Sparkling Snowflake and ODBD Snowflake Custom die.  At each step, I have also left the dimension for the box I created for the ornament I already posted in italics and parenthesis).  I hope you enjoy it.

For this ornament I used:
Fiskars cutter and scoring blade
1/4 inch scoretape
Vanilla Cardstock
Sky Blue cardstock (optional)
thick plastic recycled from Cuttlebug folder packaging
Cuttlebug Snowflake embossing folder from Winter Wonderland- pictured below (optional)
Baja Breeze, Sky Blue, and Versa Mark ink
Sparkling Snowflake stamp set from Our Daily Bread Designs
Our Daily Bread Designs Custom Snowflake die manufactured by Spellbinders

Step 1:  Design your snowflake or ornament the way you would like.  Make 2 since there is two right sides on your  Snowflake Ornament treat box.  (Same for the ornament treat box)

If you are using the ODBD Snowflake dies, I noticed the Cuttlebug embossing folder almost has an exact fit for the largest within the folder.

Step 2:  Cut a 2 inch by 6 inch strip of vanilla paper and 2 squares that are a 1 1/2 by 1 1/2 inch (cut a 2 1/4 by 5 1/4 piece of card stock and 2 squares that are 1 3/4 by 1 3/4 for the Ornament box)

Step 3:  Score a 1/4 inch line going lengthwise one each side. (same for the Ornament box)

Step 4: Turn the strip and score a line horizontally every 1 1/2 inches (Same for the Ornament box but score a line every 1 3/4 inches)

Step 5:  Cut slits from the edge on the scored lines like pictured below (same for the Ornaments treat box)

Step 6:  Put 1/4 inch pieces of score tape on each corner of the box as pictured below. Repeat on both sides.  Fold up sides and adhere. (same for the Ornaments treat box)

Step 7: After 2 sides and the bottom are adhered, put score tape on the edges so you can eventually finish the other 2 sides. (same for the Ornaments treat box)

Step 8:  Adhere the pre-cut Squares to the box.  (same for the Ornaments treat box)

This is what it looks like when it is adhered.

Step 9: Put 2 strips 1 1/2 inches of score tape on each side of an 8 inch piece of ribbon for the handle or hanger. (same for the Ornaments treat box except put two strips of 1 3/4 strips score tape on a piece of 8 1/2 inch ribbon)

Step 10: Adhere ribbon in the middle of the box starting on the bottom inside (same for the Ornaments treat box)

Step 11:  Adhere your snowflake sides to both sides of the box making sure the ribbon is on the sides so it hangs straight. (same for the Ornaments treat box but use the ornament) The picture only shows one side but you need to do both sides making sure they match up.

Add Lindt chocolate and embellish as desired!!!

Here is my completed ornament:

Thanks for stopping by! I hope you are somehow inspired by my creation. .....and maybe even decide you would like to try my tutorial.  It is very fun and easy to create and it is a great little something with a wow factor.  Tomorrow I will share a matching card.

 Have a blessed day!!
