Happy Tuesday Everyone!! Yes...I am back...three days in a row and no I am not sick just trying to keep up some of my crafting this week.

Today I am popping in to share an extension of this week's Shining the Light challenge at Our Daily Bread Designs!!  Last week's sketch challenge will continue through Sunday at August 5 at 8 p.m. You can join the challenge here.

Here is my creation:

My creation uses sneak peeks of Bookmarks Eagles and Bookmarks Verses to be released at Our Daily Bread Designs.  While the Bookmarks Eagles is a bookmark shape, I masked my image and stamped leaves around the rectangle and isolated the bird. The verse is frame with Romantic and Classic Rectangles from Spellbinders.  The background is embossed with a Birds and flowers folder from Cuttlebug.  The leaves are punched with a Martha Stewart Leaf and Twig punch as well as the Cheery Lynn Fanciful Flourish.

Hello all!! Believe it or not...I have another creation to share with you for the second day in a row.  How Thrilling to have the Dirty Dozen challenges at Splitcoast!! I love these challenges each year I was not able to participate Saturday...yet...but I had to join in on Saturday's DTGD12Twinshappy- masculine creation. Stacy challenged us to make something for the men.  A real challenge for me!!!

I decided to go out of the box and make a masculine bookmark using a sneak peak of Our Daily Bread Designs- Bookmark Trees and Bookmark Verses stamp set cut out and framed with the exclusive bookmark dies to be released on Wednesday, August 1.

The sky is sponged and the image is colored with copics. I used some dyed seam binding, colored hemp and scrap ribbon for the tassles.  The entire edge of the bookmark was distressed with Tim Holtz Tea Dye Distress Ink.

I am entering my creation in the following challenges:
Come and Get It Challenges - Anything BUT a Card  Crafty Pad: Things With WingsAmusing Challenges  Anything Goes Word Art Wednesday- use a Scripture or encouraging sentimentThe Crafty Pad  Things with Wings  Craftymess Challenge  #14 Birds

The image is colored with copics.  The ribbon is May Arts Satin Ribbon.

Hello All!! Happy Tuesday!! I hope you all have had a great beginning to your week!!  We had a great weekend visiting with friends as well as visiting with my brother and his family.  My only wish is that it could have been longer.  We were very blessed to have had this opportunity and for that I am thankful.

Today I am popping in to share this week's Shining the Light challenge at Our Daily Bread Designs.

This week's challenge will last for two weeks and ....
Is a sketch.....

To make the challenge even more fun, we will be giving out a prize, $15 gift certificate to be used toward stamps at the Our Daily Bread Designs store!! Entries for thprize must be submitted by Sunday, August 5th at 8 p.m. EST. One random winner will be chosen and announced next Saturday.

While it is not required to use Our Daily Bread Designs images and sentiments on your creations, we would love to see them if you have them. As a way of recognizing those who do use Our Daily Bread Designs stamps, we will again be choosing three or more of our participants  for the  Shining the Light Award . In order to qualify for this award or join the challenge, however, you must use Our Daily Bread stamps and have your submission added to Mr. Linky by Sunday, August 5th at 8 p.m. EST. If you upload your creations to Splitcoast Stampers or any other online gallery, please use the keyword is ODBDSLC117.  When creating your posts on blogs please include a link to the challenge.

Now on to my creation:
Since most of the team went more feminine on their take for the sketch, I thought I would challenge myself to a more masculine creation.  I added stitching and distressing with Tim Holtz Tea Dye ink and with a distresser.  The verse I used on this card is from Our Daily Bread Designs: Scripture Collection 1. The paper I distressed is from Bo Bunny's Timepiece Collection.

Card Recipe:

ODBD Stamps Used: Scripture Collection 1
Papers: Timepiece Collection by Bo Bunny
Accessories: Stitched Ribbon (Memory Box), Tim Holtz Clock and spinner, Spellbinders  Long Classic Scalloped Rectangles LG, tassle

I also made this creation for Stampin Sister's in Christ which is to make a card that is CAS,  Tuesday Testimonials Linking Party Always anything goes with Scripture (Scripture on the inside, and the post) , and Word Art Wednesday- use a Scripture or encouraging sentiment, or the free digi Scripture given on the site.  I added some stitching but it is very CAS for me.  The Stampin sisters in Christ challenge is based on Matt. 11:30:
"For my yoke is easy and my burden is light."

I often wonder how others who are not Christian's go through life without the Guidance and comfort of knowing that God is there no matter what the circumstance.  If He died for us, what can't He do for us.  What a comfort to know that God is in Control!!  It is easy to leave it to God...it just takes Faith.  My favorite verse pairs nicely with this week's featured verse: Trust in Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding.  In all your ways acknowledge him and he shall direct your paths. Proverbs 3:5-6

Hi All!! I hope this post finds you all well!! It has been a tad bit warm this week but an enjoyable week for the most part here in Virginia.  Since it has been busy, I have not done as much crafting but today I would like to share a card I made for several challenges at Splitcoast Stampers.

This card is one I began to make for the Queen for the Day challenge (QFTD120 from a couple of weeks ago) casing Arizona Maine!! Congrats Angela!! Your gallery is amazing and I always am inspired by your creations!!

I chose this amazing card as my inspiration for this card. I kept the basic layout and doily but changed my stamps, colors, and added the stitching to meet today's WT383 stitching challenge. The inside of this card is a pedestal pop up.
My card uses the Flowering Faith and Loving Memories stamp sets from Our Daily Bread Designs. The dies used include Cheery Lynn Small Exotic Butterflies , Fanciful Flourish and Canadian Kaleidoscope .

The colors include Marina Mist, Old Olive, and Night of Navy. The frame is not only sewn but is embossed with Sizzix Plaid embossing folder.

The directions on how to make this pop up are here. It really is quite simple to make but adds a fun flair to a card.

The inside of this card uses the stamps Flowering Faith and Sharing Your Sorrow from Our Daily Bread Designs. The dies include Spellbinders Antique Frames (for the border along the bottom), ODBD elegant Ovals , and a Marianne Designs Butterfly. The designer paper is Stampin Up Holiday Treasures.

Challenges I am entering my creation in:

Happy Tuesday all!! I hope you all are having a great week!! There is just something about making a winter card in the hot weather that makes the temperature feel cooler.  Lol!!!  I decided since it is so hot an humid that making a Christmas card would be fun.  I made it for the Shining the Light challenge at Our Daily Bread Designs as well as some other challenges.

This week's Shining the Light challenge:
We would like to see clouds or sunshine (sunsets, sunrises...) on your creation.  These can be on your designer paper, be cut or sponged or be part of your coloring or stamping.
To make the challenge even more fun, we will be giving out a prize, $15 gift certificate to be used toward stamps at the Our Daily Bread Designs store!! Entries for thprize must be submitted by Sunday, July 22nd at 8 p.m.

Linky by Sunday, July 22nd at 8 p.m. EST. If you upload your creations to Splitcoast Stampers or any other online gallery, please use the keyword is ODBDSLC116.  When creating your posts on blogs please include a link to the challenge.
Here is my take on the challenge:
I decided to make a Christmas card rather than a summer creation with clouds or sunshine.  My image is Our Daily Bread Designs- Warm Wishes.  I colored the image with copics and added Liquid Applique for snow.  The fold for the card is called a diamond fold.  My background is dry embossed while my sentiment is gold embossed.  The dies used include Spellbinders Lacey Circles, Lacey Squares, Petite Ovals, and Classic and Scalloped Circles.

Happy Thursday All!! I hope you are all enjoying your week.  Life has been busy but I am so thankful that the heat is so much less this week!!  Mid 80's feels like fall or winter compared to the 100 degree days of last week.

This week I have been trying to join more of the challenges at Splitcoast Stampers. What a fun and challenging sketch at Splitcoaststampers Yesterday (SC393)! I decided to challenge myself even more to a white on white card and make my image pop.

The stamps used are Surging Sea and Smooth Sailing from Our Daily Bread Designs. The ship reminds me of summer vacation and the many cruises people enjoy.  Not me....since I get terrible motion sickness even in a car...but many others love cruises.

The card Shape uses Labels 23 (Grand) from Spellbinders. The image is framed with Petite Ovals (large and small) from Spellbinders.  The embossing folders are Stars and Swiss Dots from Provocraft.

Thanks for stopping by!! I so appreciate your comments and visits! Have a great week!!

Happy Tuesday all!!  Sorry it has been so long since I posted, yet again.  Life keeps getting in the way of crafting.  I wish I could just craft all day but that is just not the case.  Thankfully the heat is much better here.  No more 105 degree plus days...today it is 85 degrees.  Much more tolerable.  Thank you Lord!!!

Anywho...today I am popping in to share this week's Shining the Light challenge at Our Daily Bread Designs.

This week's challenge:
We would like to see tearing or distressing on your creation.

To make the challenge even more fun, we will be giving out a prize, $15 gift certificate to be used toward stamps at the Our Daily Bread Designs store!! Entries for thprize must be submitted by Sunday, July 15th at 8 p.m. EST. One random winner will be chosen and announced next Saturday.

Now on to my creations:

This a.m. I made a quick card to meet this week's Color Challenge at Splitcoast (CC383- Rasberry Ripple, Pink Pirouette, and Crumb Cake).   I love the color combo for this week's but found it to be a real fun challenge.  Since I did not have Razzleberry Ripple, I used Purely Pomegranite instead.

I created my own designer paper using the flowers from Our Daily Bread Designs Flowering Faith and Bird Borders and Corners sets. These stamps were inked in pink pirouette, Purely Pomegranite, and Crumb Cake (kraft). The sentiment is from ODBD's Flowering Faith , framed with Eternity , and cut out with the Elegant Ovals Spellbinders dies exclusive to ODBD.

The crumb cake oval is created with a cuttlebug victoria embossing folder and the embossed kisses technique. I added some pearl trim, some stitching, a Cheery Lynn Small Exotic butterfly , a bunch of leaves from Cheery Lynn Fanciful Flourish and a punched border using the Daisy Border Punch from Martha Stewart.

For my second creation, I decided to challenge myself and make a pedestal pop up card.  You can find the tutorial here at Splitcoast Stampers.

My card uses Birthday Blessings from Our Daily Bread Designs and Green Tea designer paper from Stampin Up. The card stock is Marina Mist, Certainly Celery, and Old Olive. I distressed the edges using old olive. The bows are made with Martha Stewarts Ribbon Loop corner punch. It was fun using my Nestabilities (Squares) and ribbon to make presents. To meet this week's Shining the Light challenge- ODBDSLC115, I added distressing with Old Olive.
