Hello, Friends!! I hope you all are well and are looking to a wonderful Thanksgiving (for those in the USA).  I know I am!!  I look forward to a long  weekend spent with the family!!!  We hope to begin decorating for Christmas soon thereafter.  I just love Christmas!!

Today, I am going to share a card created for the Shining the Light challenge expressing the True Meaning (religious) of Christmas. I had so much fun using a variety of dies to create all the texture. The beautiful sentiment is from the Perfect light stamp set. The corners of the card are created with a flourished leaf from the Christmas Candle Dies.  The sentiment is cut out with the stitched ovals and then mounted on top of the Ovals dies, Layered Lacey Squares and Flourished Star Pattern Dies.  Rather than just add a bow, I thought a white flower created with the Merry Mosaics die would be a beautiful touch.

The small candles are created with the Windowsill Candles and layered on an oval and Elegant Ovals die.

Hello Friends!! I hope all is well!!  We, in our household, have been extremely busy preparing for a craft show we have a booth at next week.  It is crunch time to get it all done.  We have been painting from dawn to dusk (when we are not at work or doing schoolwork).  I wake up each morning to a choir of snowmen staring at me since we have them stored in a variety of rooms where our darling Zoe (cat) can not chew on the greenery.

Today I would like to share a fun little gift box I created which was inspired by today's ODBDSLC263.  I was inspired by the white sparkly ornaments, all the greenery, and the candles on the mantle.

It was created using the Windowsill Candles dies as well as the Lovely Leaves.  This is a candy box or small gift box I have created. The background is embossed.  The candles were cut from glitter cardstock.  The flames were colored with copics.  The little leaves from the Windowsill Candle were die cut and then layered for dimension to complete the greenery.

It brings so much joy to me to create for Christmas as I think of the gift of His Son and the comfort it gives me.  In light of the recent terrorism, there is no greater comfort than His Grace.

While we would like to change all that is happening, God is still in control!!!  What a comfort to rest in Him in times of Turmoil!!  Today I am praying for my dear friend Grace who begins here treatments to rid her body of cancer.  God is in Control and I know He is with her even when I cannot be.

II Chronicles 20:6 “O Lord, God of our fathers, are you not God in heaven? You rule over all the kingdoms of the nations. In your hand are power and might, so that none is able to withstand you.”

Hello Friends!! I hope all is well with you all!!  It is rainy and cold here..a little dreary. Unfortunately, we now have had to turn on our heat, at least at night anyway.

Today I am popping in to share a card using this week's sketch at Our Daily Bread Designs Shining the Light challenge!!  Yes, it is another Christmas card! What can I say?...tis the season and time to catch up.  LOL!
Our Daily Bread Designs, Peaceful Deer, Snowflake Background, Lovely Leaves dies, Pinecone dies, Vintage Flourish Pattern die, Flourished Star Pattern Die, Layered Lacey Squares Die, Matted Circles die, Circle Ornament dies, designed by Chris Olsen

ODBD Stamps Used: Peaceful Deer, Snowflake Background
Embossing folder: Darice Snowflakes

This card was to fun and I hope the recipient loves it as much as I enjoyed creating it.  I sent it to someone who made a purchase at our Etsy store- Chisel Ink n More as a bonus or thank you for buying.

The foliage in the corner is created with the Lovely leaves and Pinecone die.  The Peaceful Deer image is colored with copics and placed in a window cut from the Matting Circles DieCircle Ornament Dies and Layered Lacey Square dies.

The background rectangles are created with 1/2 of the Vintage Flourish Pattern die on the bottom panel and the Snowflake Background on the top panel under the image.

This card shows peace in nature and the peace so many Christians experience at Christmas time.  Peace in knowing that God is with us and that no matter what happens, it will be o.k.  because He is in control.  It isn't a peace from the lights, or the gifts or the time spent with family and friends.Yes, we may face pain, hardship, illness and even death but God's Grace and gift of His son, first as a baby and then as the Son who died on the cross for our sins, promises eternal life to all who believe is an everlasting peace!!

The perfect Christmas is something WE can never achieve. Instead, the perfect Christmas has already happened—when a perfect God joined us on this earth as a perfect baby in what would be considered the most imperfect environment. It is when we take our focus off of all that we need to do for Christmas, and, instead, look to the perfect One and truly receive Him, then we are free to enjoy Christmas—free to enjoy the celebration of His birth.

Hello, Friends!!  Well, the leaves are changing colors rapidly and falling here!!  Winter will soon be here.  While I love Fall, it seems Spring and Fall are the shortest seasons.  With winter comes Christmas!  I can't believe that in less than 2 months it will be here.  I am not near ready.

Today I am popping in to share a card I created for the Shining the Light ODBDSLC261 Color challenge...a Christmas creation using only dies and no stamps!!!

I just love the new foliage dies (Lovely Leaves) and the Pine Cones.  They really are perfect with the Merry Mosaic and Peaceful Poinsettia dies. I layered the pinecones with gold and brown.  The card itself if framed with gold metallic and white glitter cardstock.  The background was dry embossed with a Darice Snowflake Flourish Embossing folder.  The Vintage Labels and Vintage Flourished Pattern dies are layered to frame the Merry Christmas die sentiment.  The white background is also dry embossed.  The corner is created with the corner from the Fancy Ornaments die.  The poinsettia is created with the flowers from the Peaceful Poinsettia and the leaves from the Merry Mosaic.

Origin of the Poinsettia:

There is an old Mexican legend about how Poinsettia's and Christmas come together, it goes like this:
There was once a poor Mexican girl called Pepita who had no present to give the the baby Jesus at the Christmas Eve Services. As Pepita walked to the chapel, sadly, her cousin Pedro tried to cheer her up.
'Pepita', he said "I'm sure that even the smallest gift, given by someone who loves him will make Jesus Happy."
Pepita didn't know what she could give, so she picked a small handful of weeds from the roadside and made them into a a small bouquet. She felt embarrassed because she could only give this small present to Jesus. As she walked through the chapel to the altar, she remembered what Pedro had said. She began to feel better, knelt down and put the bouquet at the bottom of the nativity scene. Suddenly, the bouquet of weeds burst into bright red flowers, and everyone who saw them were sure they had seen a miracle. From that day on, the bright red flowers were known as the 'Flores de Noche Buena', or 'Flowers of the Holy Night'.
The shape of the poinsettia flower and leaves are sometimes thought as a symbol of the Star of Bethlehem which led the Wise Men to Jesus. The red colored leaves symbolize the blood of Christ. The white leaves represent his purity.
Verse Of the Day- The Gift of God's Son is of peace and a future.  God sent His son as a humble baby who would later deliver us from our Sins!!  Have you accepted His Grace?  It is not to be earned.  All you need to do is believe that you are sinner and He has died for you!! Surrender to Him.

John 14:27
"Peace I leave with you; My peace I give to you; not as the world gives do I give to you Do not let your heart be troubled, nor let it be fearful.

Hello!! Welcome to the November ODBD New Release!!  There are lots of fun stamps and dies!!  You won't want to miss the chance to win nor the inspiration from the team!!

My first creation uses the new Snowflake Border Background and the Flourished Merry Christmas stamp sets.  The foliage is created with the new Lovely Leaves, Pine Cones and Small Bow die.  The Merry Christmas sentiment is embossed in silver and framed with two Vintage Labels dies layered.  The silver metallic frame is cut out with the Flourished Star Pattern Die.  The Snowflake Border is stamped in navy and then the entire cardstock is embossed in holographic embossing powder.

Stamps: Flourished Merry Christmas, Snowflake Border
Dies: Flourished Star PatternPineconesLovely LeavesVintage Labels, Small Bow

For my second creation, I had fun creating angels using the new Small Bow die.  They can be created using any of the different sizes, however.

To create these angels I cut the head out of a Flesh cardstock and a 3/4 inch circle die.  The halo is cut out of gold glitter cardstock and a 1 1/4 inch circle die.  The tail of the Small Bow die is cut in half to be layered behind the bow to make the dress.  All the pieces of the bow are embossed with a poinsettia embossing folder.  The dress ruffle is created by cutting the 4 scallops off of the scalloped circle of the Recipe Card and Tag die. The embellishing in the middle of the bow is created with the Pretty Posies Die.

The items used on my creations from the new release include these:
