Hello Friends!! I pray this post finds you all well!!  I don't know about you but I feel like I am running around like a chicken with my head cut off as I prepare for Christmas.  It is such a joyous time of year but so busy also!

Today I am popping in to share a gift basket I made for my husband for Christmas.  Since Scott is never online, I know it is safe to post here.

ODBD Dies Used: Antique Labels, Vintage Labels, Elegant Ovals
ODBD Paper Used: Christmas Collection 2013

The image is the perfect masculine image.  My hubby worked on a farm when he was a teenager.  His favorite tractor was always the John Deere.  I had fun coloring it up!! The sentiment is from Elegant Embellishments and it is framed with an Elegant Ovals die in gold mirror cardstock.  The image is first cut out with the Antique Labels die and then mounted on two layers of cardstock cut with a Vintage Labels die.

The basket/ box design is created with this tutorial By Beate Johns

Thanks for looking!! Have a blessed day!!

Hello, Friends!!  I hope all is well!! I am sure many of you are scurrying around preparing for Christmas as am I.  I can't believe Christmas is in just a few days.  Where does the time go?!!!!

I just love this time of year with all the beautiful Christmas decorations within our house and seeing all the lights as you drive along the road.  So festive.  The lights just make you feel so warm, comforted, and happy.

Today I am popping in to share a card I created for the Shining the Light Winter Inspiration at ODBD.  It is such a beautiful photo and it was such fun to create.  I tried to look at something others may have missed such as the snowy branches and the blue flourished Merry Christmas.

Our Daily Bread Designs, Snowflake Background,Merry Mosaic dies, Merry Christmas dies, Small Bow dies, Lovely Leaves dies, Vintage Labels dies, Pinecones dies, Vintage Flourished Pattern dies, Fancy Foliage Dies, designed by Chris Olsen
ODBD Stamps Used: Snowflake Background

I decided to use the theme of the snow and blue as seen in the Merry Christmas sentiment and in the corner of the inspiration. The background is created with the Snowflake Background.  The foliage is created with a variety of green cardstocks and the Fancy FoliageMerry MosaicsPinecones, and Lovely Leaves.  The sentiment is cut in blue using the Merry Christmas die and is framed with the Vintage Labels and Vintage Flourished Pattern (inside oval).  The card itself shimmers with the outside glittered cardstock, glittered poinsettia and foliage.  It is, unfortunately, not as noticeable in the photo.

Here is the Inspiration photo:

To make this ornament, I first colored the Peaceful Deer ornament and cut it out with the Double stitched Circles die.  I created a frame with the Double Stitched Circles die and Circle Ornaments die with a blue layer and a glittered white card stock.  Behind this frame is acetate cut in a circle layered on dimensional adhesive foam tape (sealed without holes) over top of the deer image.  Beads are on the inside to make it a shaker.  I then layered the image over a silver cardstock cut with the Double Stitched Circle dies and the Doily (cut out of navy).

The back of the ornament was created using this 3d Circle Christmas Ornament tutorial on SC that I wrote up.  I only made half of the ornament and adhered it to the framed and layered deer image.

Hello, Friends!! I hope this post finds you all well.  Christmas is just around the corner.  I can't believe how fast time is going.  It sure does not feel like that time of year here in Virginia.  The temperature is in the 70's during the day.  I sure hope that these mild temperatures now don't mean a harder or longer winter in the end.

Well on to my card for the day....

Have you lacked imagination for a masculine card?  I sure do...I just love adding the details and to me masculine seems blah.  This is a card I created for one of our customers at Etsy using the sketch at Our Daily Bread Designs for the Shining the Light challenge.

Our Daily Bread Designs, Safe Travels, Beautiful Borders, Double Stitched Rectangles, Double Stitched Circles, Rectangles, Bogo Background dies, Christmas 2015 Paper Collection, designed by Chris Olsen

ODBD Stamps Used: Covered Bridge
ODBD Dies Used: Double Stitched Rectangles, Beautiful Borders, Double stitched circles, Circle Ornaments, Rectangle
ODBD Paper Used: Christmas Collection 2015
Embossing folder: Darice Snow swirled

What do you think?  Does it look masculine enough or does the border added create a more feminine twist?  I really love the added glitter for the snow more in real life in this photo.  It looks like shimmering snow that has and icy crust.

The heavens declare the glory of God; the skies proclaim the work of his hands. Psalm 19:1
As I look at the nature around me, I see His hand.....the snow, the flowers, the trees, the animals...it all speaks of His magnificence!!

Hello, Friends!! I hope this post finds you all well!!  The time just seems to be flying by and Christmas is now only a few weeks away!!  ...and yes I am still working on getting all my Christmas cards sent out.  It always seems like such a momentous task!

Today I would like to share a Christmas card I created using the new Living Water stamp set at ODBD and the colors from the ODBDSLC265 Color Challenge.

I had so much fun coloring this image up and adding lots of sparkle with my glamor dust.  After coloring the image, I cut my image out with the new Double Stitched Circles matted on a black circle from the Circle Ornaments dies.  The image is then layered on an embossed snowflake kraft panel die cut with the Vintage Labels die.  It is a little more simplistic than a lot of my cards, but I really felt the image did not need a lot of added detail.  The embossed Snowflake layer was perfect to add a more wintery feel. The panel along the bottom is cut with a Martha Stewart Eyelet Lace punch.

In addition to the new releases, I used the Patriotic Paper Collection, Circle Ornaments dies (which coordinates beautifully with the new Double Stitched Circle dies), elegant oval dies and the Fancy Ornaments dies.

My second creation uses the Safe Travels image and verse as well as the Rectangles dies, Double Stitched Rectangles dies, Vintage Flourish Pattern dies, Ovals dies, and Stitched Ovals dies.  After coloring the image and cutting it out using the rectangular dies, I added crystal effects to make the scene more wintery.

Hello, Friends!! I hope you all are well and are looking to a wonderful Thanksgiving (for those in the USA).  I know I am!!  I look forward to a long  weekend spent with the family!!!  We hope to begin decorating for Christmas soon thereafter.  I just love Christmas!!

Today, I am going to share a card created for the Shining the Light challenge expressing the True Meaning (religious) of Christmas. I had so much fun using a variety of dies to create all the texture. The beautiful sentiment is from the Perfect light stamp set. The corners of the card are created with a flourished leaf from the Christmas Candle Dies.  The sentiment is cut out with the stitched ovals and then mounted on top of the Ovals dies, Layered Lacey Squares and Flourished Star Pattern Dies.  Rather than just add a bow, I thought a white flower created with the Merry Mosaics die would be a beautiful touch.

The small candles are created with the Windowsill Candles and layered on an oval and Elegant Ovals die.

Hello Friends!! I hope all is well!!  We, in our household, have been extremely busy preparing for a craft show we have a booth at next week.  It is crunch time to get it all done.  We have been painting from dawn to dusk (when we are not at work or doing schoolwork).  I wake up each morning to a choir of snowmen staring at me since we have them stored in a variety of rooms where our darling Zoe (cat) can not chew on the greenery.

Today I would like to share a fun little gift box I created which was inspired by today's ODBDSLC263.  I was inspired by the white sparkly ornaments, all the greenery, and the candles on the mantle.

It was created using the Windowsill Candles dies as well as the Lovely Leaves.  This is a candy box or small gift box I have created. The background is embossed.  The candles were cut from glitter cardstock.  The flames were colored with copics.  The little leaves from the Windowsill Candle were die cut and then layered for dimension to complete the greenery.

It brings so much joy to me to create for Christmas as I think of the gift of His Son and the comfort it gives me.  In light of the recent terrorism, there is no greater comfort than His Grace.

While we would like to change all that is happening, God is still in control!!!  What a comfort to rest in Him in times of Turmoil!!  Today I am praying for my dear friend Grace who begins here treatments to rid her body of cancer.  God is in Control and I know He is with her even when I cannot be.

II Chronicles 20:6 “O Lord, God of our fathers, are you not God in heaven? You rule over all the kingdoms of the nations. In your hand are power and might, so that none is able to withstand you.”

Hello Friends!! I hope all is well with you all!!  It is rainy and cold here..a little dreary. Unfortunately, we now have had to turn on our heat, at least at night anyway.

Today I am popping in to share a card using this week's sketch at Our Daily Bread Designs Shining the Light challenge!!  Yes, it is another Christmas card! What can I say?...tis the season and time to catch up.  LOL!
Our Daily Bread Designs, Peaceful Deer, Snowflake Background, Lovely Leaves dies, Pinecone dies, Vintage Flourish Pattern die, Flourished Star Pattern Die, Layered Lacey Squares Die, Matted Circles die, Circle Ornament dies, designed by Chris Olsen

ODBD Stamps Used: Peaceful Deer, Snowflake Background
Embossing folder: Darice Snowflakes

This card was to fun and I hope the recipient loves it as much as I enjoyed creating it.  I sent it to someone who made a purchase at our Etsy store- Chisel Ink n More as a bonus or thank you for buying.

The foliage in the corner is created with the Lovely leaves and Pinecone die.  The Peaceful Deer image is colored with copics and placed in a window cut from the Matting Circles DieCircle Ornament Dies and Layered Lacey Square dies.

The background rectangles are created with 1/2 of the Vintage Flourish Pattern die on the bottom panel and the Snowflake Background on the top panel under the image.

This card shows peace in nature and the peace so many Christians experience at Christmas time.  Peace in knowing that God is with us and that no matter what happens, it will be o.k.  because He is in control.  It isn't a peace from the lights, or the gifts or the time spent with family and friends.Yes, we may face pain, hardship, illness and even death but God's Grace and gift of His son, first as a baby and then as the Son who died on the cross for our sins, promises eternal life to all who believe is an everlasting peace!!

The perfect Christmas is something WE can never achieve. Instead, the perfect Christmas has already happened—when a perfect God joined us on this earth as a perfect baby in what would be considered the most imperfect environment. It is when we take our focus off of all that we need to do for Christmas, and, instead, look to the perfect One and truly receive Him, then we are free to enjoy Christmas—free to enjoy the celebration of His birth.

Hello, Friends!!  Well, the leaves are changing colors rapidly and falling here!!  Winter will soon be here.  While I love Fall, it seems Spring and Fall are the shortest seasons.  With winter comes Christmas!  I can't believe that in less than 2 months it will be here.  I am not near ready.

Today I am popping in to share a card I created for the Shining the Light ODBDSLC261 Color challenge...a Christmas creation using only dies and no stamps!!!

I just love the new foliage dies (Lovely Leaves) and the Pine Cones.  They really are perfect with the Merry Mosaic and Peaceful Poinsettia dies. I layered the pinecones with gold and brown.  The card itself if framed with gold metallic and white glitter cardstock.  The background was dry embossed with a Darice Snowflake Flourish Embossing folder.  The Vintage Labels and Vintage Flourished Pattern dies are layered to frame the Merry Christmas die sentiment.  The white background is also dry embossed.  The corner is created with the corner from the Fancy Ornaments die.  The poinsettia is created with the flowers from the Peaceful Poinsettia and the leaves from the Merry Mosaic.

Dies: Flourished Star Pattern, Merry ChristmasMerry MosaicsPeaceful PoinsettiaPineconesLovely LeavesVintage LabelsVintage Flourished PatternFancy Ornament

Origin of the Poinsettia:

There is an old Mexican legend about how Poinsettia's and Christmas come together, it goes like this:
There was once a poor Mexican girl called Pepita who had no present to give the the baby Jesus at the Christmas Eve Services. As Pepita walked to the chapel, sadly, her cousin Pedro tried to cheer her up.
'Pepita', he said "I'm sure that even the smallest gift, given by someone who loves him will make Jesus Happy."
Pepita didn't know what she could give, so she picked a small handful of weeds from the roadside and made them into a a small bouquet. She felt embarrassed because she could only give this small present to Jesus. As she walked through the chapel to the altar, she remembered what Pedro had said. She began to feel better, knelt down and put the bouquet at the bottom of the nativity scene. Suddenly, the bouquet of weeds burst into bright red flowers, and everyone who saw them were sure they had seen a miracle. From that day on, the bright red flowers were known as the 'Flores de Noche Buena', or 'Flowers of the Holy Night'.
The shape of the poinsettia flower and leaves are sometimes thought as a symbol of the Star of Bethlehem which led the Wise Men to Jesus. The red colored leaves symbolize the blood of Christ. The white leaves represent his purity.
Verse Of the Day- The Gift of God's Son is of peace and a future.  God sent His son as a humble baby who would later deliver us from our Sins!!  Have you accepted His Grace?  It is not to be earned.  All you need to do is believe that you are sinner and He has died for you!! Surrender to Him.

John 14:27
"Peace I leave with you; My peace I give to you; not as the world gives do I give to you Do not let your heart be troubled, nor let it be fearful.
