Happy Thursday all!! I hope you are all doing well!! Can you believe today is the last day of July?!! I can't!! Time and summer is just flying by!!

Today I had a chance to play with today's Way's to Use It challenge at Splitcoast Stampers.  The challenge was use maps on your creation...a real challenge for me since I had only two pieces of dp with maps and no stamps.  So...I chose to use a piece of Teresa Collins World Traveler dp.

I chose to showcase a quote that I have really to grown to understand more this summer from a sneak peek: Anchor the Soul to be released at ODBD tomorrow. "Life's roughest storm prove the strength of our anchors." This summer has been especially challenging to with my limited abilities and all my pain after my accident this past May.  It is during the tough times of life that we realize how strong our faith is.  I am so thankful for a God who is much stronger than I to carry me through the tough times.  Hope is my anchor!!!

Card Recipe:
Stamps: ODBD Anchor the Soul to be Released tomorrow
Paper: Teresa Collins World Traveler
Dies: ODBD Antique labels and dies
Embossing folder: Paper Studio Quatrefoil folder
Challenges: Word Art Wednesday-Anything goes, ODBD Shining the Light-Sponging

Thanks for stopping by and for your comments!! I hope you will be able stop by tomorrow for the Release!!

Hello friends!! I hope this finds you all well!! I have been struggling a bit lately but am so thankful for my life and depending on God for my healing.  Sometimes it is frustrating when it seems progress is so slow but I know I am in God's hands and it is such a precious gift to have Him to go to.  I am not alone!!

This is not a normal summer for me since there is so much I can't do but I have to say that this summer more than  most, I am thankful for the little things in life...the smiles on my girls faces, the tender help from my husband, the beauty of nature and etc.

While I am not at the beach this year and won't be, I have fond memories.  The card I am sharing today has just a bit of that summer feeling with the flip flops and etc.  It is a sneak peek of stamps to be released on Friday at ODBD!!

I made this with the ODBDSLC210 Shining the Light challenge at ODBD to use sponging or stencils.  I did both.

For my creations I used the Vintage Flourish Pattern die from ODBD as a stencil and the ODBD Vintage Label dies for the middle oval to make it look like water.  It is sponged with SU Cool Caribbean.  I added glitter for sand and some shells.  The flip flops and sentiment are from the Flip Flop Fun stamp set to be release on August 1.  The flip flops are cut out with the upcoming Flip Flop dies.  The embossing folder is from Sizzix.  I colored some of the leaves and vines in green.

Hello Friends!! I hope you all are doing well and enjoying your summer.  I can't believe how fast it is going.  In a couple of weeks school starts here again in Virginia!!  I am so thankful for friends and family who have come to visit to give the kids and I some fun or something to make it feel like vacation.  It is very difficult to not be able to go out and drive.  This past week we were blessed to have Scott's parents visit!!

When I think of summer, I think of all the wonderful flowers I enjoy....so here is another flower card. LOL!  I made this using this week's Shining the Light Challenge ODBDSLC210 Sponging or Stencils challenge....

Our Daily Bread Designs, Foxglove, Rose Bouquet, Antique Labels die, Designer-Chris Olsen

ODBD Stamps Used: FoxgloveRose Bouquet
ODBD Dies Used: Antique Labels and Borders
Spellbinders Marvelous Squares, copics, sponge, pearls, aqua ribbon

as well as for a friend who is going through a rough time right now.  I try to send her a card each week so she knows she is being prayed for.

So encourage each other and build each other up, just as you are already doing. 1 Thessalonians 5:11

Is there someone in your life that needs encouragement?  What a fruitful day to put a smile on someone's face with an encouraging word or prayer.  I can speak from experience that prayers and encouraging words build me up and without them my healing from my recent injury would be much more difficult.  Thanks be to God for others who encourage us!!  There is no greater friend than those who lift us up in prayer or words of encouragement.

Hello Friends!! I hope you are all enjoying your summer!! Today I would like to share a creation I made using one of my fave parts of summer: FLOWERS!!  I just love flowers, especially this year as I am unable to get out.  All I have to do is look out my window to see all our Day Lilies. This isn't a Day Lily but it is a flower!!

I incorporated the Red, White and Blue  from this week's Shining the Light challenge at ODBD and some of the newest pennants from Our Daily Bread Designs: Pennant Swag Alphabet and the Pennant Swag Die.  The image is from the Serve the Lord stamp set cut out with the Crocheted Circle Die.  The embossed background is Sizzix Quatrefoil.  The border along the bottom is punched with the Martha Stewart Lace Eyelet Die.

Properties: Our Daily Bread Designs, Pennant Swag Alphabet, Serve the Lord, Crocheted Circle Die, Pennant Swag Die, designer-Chris Olsen

I made this card for a dear sweet friend from church who is going through a rough time right now.  The inside of the card includes this verse:

Isaiah 41:10
So do not fear, for I am with you;
do not be dismayed, for I am your God.
I will strengthen you and help you;
I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.

Hello Friends!! I hope you are all enjoying your summer!! The weather has been beautiful here the last few days.  Unfortunately they predict much more humid temperatures for the remainder of this week.

Today I am popping in to share this week's Shining the Light challenge at Our Daily Bread Designs which is to use Red, White and Blue.  It need not be patriotic.

I needed a birthday card for one of my nephews so I went a little more CAS this week using the fun Patriotic Pennants and Little Boys set as well as the Pennants dies.

Hello Friends!! I am finally here after having my sister here for a five day stay from Boston,  celebrating both of my daughter's birthdays and celebrating the July 4th holiday!!  Although being layed up after my accident, and not being able to take a normal vacation like most has changed our summer, God has truly blessed me with beautiful weather and a wonderful time with my family.  I have no complaints.  My pain does limit me somewhat but with each day I feel like I am able to do increasingly more.  God is so good!!!

Today I want to share a more masculine card I created.  I had so much fun combining stamps from Our Daily Bread Designs to make a scene!!  I used the last sketch from Splitcoast Stampers (SC495).

Stamps used: ODBD Fishing Net Background, The Mighty Sea, Waves on the Sea, Patriotic Pennants
Dies Used: ODBD Pennants dies, Spellbinders Circle and Scalloped Circles die
Embossing folders: Tim Holtz Crack embossing folder

I hope everyone in the USA had a wonderful holiday weekend!!  We have so much to be thankful for here with all our freedoms, especially our religious freedoms!

Have a blessed day all!!!
