Hello All!! It is hard to believe that it has been since Sunday that I posted here.  We are now back home from vacation.  We had a great time!!  Unfortunately, however, our family has some "Life things" going on at the moment which is making it very difficult to keep my mind on crafting or even blogging.

Today I am popping in to share a card I made using Whimsy's Summer Letter Seals (designed by Ann Vento of Raindrop Echo Designs).  I tried to give it a vintage flair with my Pink Paisley paper and fancy lace.

Thanks for stopping by and for your comments.  I greatly appreciate you taking the time to share your thoughts.

Have a great day!!

I hope your day is full of Sunshine!!

Happy Sunday Everyone!! Well today our vacation ends and we make the trek back home.  It is always hard to say goodbye to Lancaster and to our dear family and go our separate ways.  We always have such a refreshing time together!! We were very blessed to be able to get together and share our vacation so please know I am not complaining...

Anywho...today is another Stampin Sisters in Christ challenge.  This week's host is Miesje.

Miesje has chosen the verse:
Galatians 5:1 "It is for freedom that Christ has set us free. Stand firm, then, and do not let yourselves be burdened again by a yoke of slavery. "

How blessed are we that Christ died for us that we can be saved from our sin and live in eternity with Him!!  We are also blessed to be in a country that allows us to be free to worship and praise our God.  I really cherish the freedom...especially as I notice our country moving further and further away from God...pushing Him out of our schools, communities, and our government.  Each day I pray that our leaders will see and recognize that our nation was founded on God (hence the In God We Trust on our coins) and that without Him our country is nothing.  Take advantage and feel blessed with the freedom God has given you in sending His son to die for us and in the freedoms we have to worship Him.

Miesje's challenge:
Create a Red, White, and Blue thank you card.

Here is my take on the challenge:

For my card I used the Our Daily Bread Designs Mini Tags 2 Stampset framed with the Spellbinders Ribbon Tags Trio Three.  The dp is from Bearly Mine- Delicious Delights Digital Paper.

card recipe:
stamps: Our Daily Bread Designs Mini Tags 2 Stamp set
Paper: Bearly Mine- Delicious Delights Digital Paper, Not Quite Navy, Real Red
Accessories: Spellbinders Ribbon Tags Trio Three Fancy Tags Two (spellbinders),  Floral Doily Accent (Spellbinders), Fleur De Lis Accents (Spellbinders) GRAND CALIBER (Spellbinders), Martha Stewart Shell border punch, pearls, gingham ribbon

Now on to my creation for this challenge:

A couple of weeks ago, before leaving on vacation, I saw this beautiful spring basket design created by Stacy Morgan.  I thought it would be fun to make for a Thank You gift for Nicki's piano teacher. Thanks for the tutorial Stacy.  I altered it slightly but I had so much fun making it!!  The flower is from the Serve the Lord stampset.  I colored it with copics (R20, R22, R24, YG94, YG97, YG06, E40, E41, E42).  I made some big cookies to go inside.  The basket measures 5 `/2 by 3 1/4 by 4 1/2 inches deep (without the handle).

Today I have a creation to share with you for the Sundays with Crissy challenge.  This months challenge is Here Comes the Sun!!

For my creation I used the ever so adorable digi, Nose to Nose available at Whimsy stamps.  The sentiment is a new release from Whimsy stamps called Summer Letter Seals.

The designer paper is from the Basic Grey Sweet Threads Paper.  The cs is SU Groovy Guava, pink and white.  I colored the image with copics.  The flowers are from Wild Orchids.  The bow is tied with the bow easy and uses May Arts White Wrinkled Ribbon.

Why don't you get creating and show us your Sun themed cards!!  You can link your creation HERE. There will be five free digi's given to one lucky challenge participant who will be chosen by Random.org at the end of the month! Happy Sunday all!! ...and Happy Father's Day to all the husbands and fathers out there.  Today is the day to say thank you for all the fathers we have been blessed with.  I know I am very thankful for my hubby who is a wonderful father to our daughters as well as my father in law and father whom I cherish with all my heart!

Today it is time for another Stampin Sisters in Christ challenge.  This week's host is the inspirational and sweet  Marilynn.

Marilynn chose the verse:
Hebrews 11:1 Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things unseen. (KJV)

This is a verse that we each feel every day.  We have faith that we are going to wake up in the morning or that our children come home safe.  We need faith in most all we do but this faith is having Faith in Christ that although we can not see and touch him we believe that He is there, that He cared for us and that He died for us. We have to have Faith that he cares for us more than birds than the air...He knows everything and what will happen next but we have to have faith that He will provide.  Currently we are going through some life changes in our family.  Each day I pray for Faith that He will guide me to make the right decisions and that His will and not my will be done.  I can't see the road ahead but He can.  Do you have Faith or believe in a God you do not see?

Marilynn's challenge is:
Make a card that you doodle on.

Since this week's sponsor is Our Daily Bread Designs, I decided to use one of their stampsets: Time.

I made this as a Father's Day card for my Dad.  This card has a lot of distressing and embossing (Provocraft Clockworks folder).  The ribbon is SU Striped Grosgrain.  The border on the top is punched with the MS shell border punch.  I doodled faux stitching on the bravo burgundy paper as well as around the sentiment.  I purposely tore the edges on the ribbon.

Card Recipe:
Our Daily Bread Designs stamp: Time
Paper: kraft, Bravo burgundy, SEI Time dp,
Accessories: SU Grosgrain ribbon, SU corner punch, Clockworks embossing folder, Tim holtz distress inks, Tim holtz clock hand, Spellbinders Fancy Tags, Spellbinders GRAND CALIBER

Happy Monday Everyone!!  I hope everyone had a great weekend!! I had a great weekend visiting with family for the entire weekend!  While the house was very full and busy, it was great spending time with them all.

Nicki, my dear daughter, also played a duet on the piano in church.  It went very well, despite she sprained her finger the day before playing basketball with her cousins on Saturday.  Her finger did swell up a bit more and turn more colors of the rainbow after the exertion on the piano but she did do it and she did well.  I am so proud of her!!!

Well....anywho...now it is time for another Stamp and Create Product Spotlight.  This week the spotlight is on all pirate stamps in the store.  This means all pirate stamps are up to 25 % off!!!

I used Kraftin Kimmie Strawberry Pirate for a center step card.  The pirate is colored with copics and framed with a lacey ovals dies from Spellbinders.  The dp is from Bearly Mine's Delicious Delights digital paper.

For more inspiration using Stamp and Create's pirate stamps , please visit my dt sisters: Joy, Lacey, Heidi, Vicky and  Jeanette.

Happy Sunday Everyone!! I hope you are having a great and blessed weekend!!  Mine has very eventful with a house full of guests.  Today my dear daughter, Nicki, plays a piano duet with her piano teacher in church.  I think Mom is more nervous than dd is though. LOL!

Anywho...today it is time for another Stampin Sisters in Christ challenge!! This week's hostess is the dear Lisa!!

Lisa chose the verse:
(Eph 6:2-4 NRSV) "Honor your father and mother"--this is the first commandment with a promise: {3} "so that it may be well with you and you may live long on the earth." {4} And, fathers, do not provoke your children to anger, but bring them up in the discipline and instruction of the Lord.

I thank my Heavenly Father in heaven for the earthly father he has given me each and every day!!  What a blessing to have a Christian father who loves the Lord and shares that love with me each and every day!!  Dad's Christian example is evident in all he does, including in how he brought us up...as God instructed him.  We need to be thankful for our husbands and father's and this monstrous task they have in front of them of caring and directing their children and wives.  I know I support my hubby and father in prayer as well as in deed.  Over the years, I have come to learn that the Christian upbringing and the family structure of having both parents in a household is very rare.  I cringe at the number of split families and how is devastates  children.  "Thank you Lord for a Christian Father and husband!  Please help them seek their will in all they do in bringing up their children and wives in You."  Please be with those families who are hurting or missing a parent, whether it be from divorce or death. Amen.

This week Lisa has challenged us to Make a Father's Day card... or a card praising our Father in Heaven

Here is my take on the challenge:

For my card I used the Winds of Grace stamp set from SU.  The dp is Su Parisian Breeze (retired).  Most all materials excluding the silver baubles and the computer generated sentiment are from SU.

No on to my creation:

For my bookmark I used the Serve the Lord stamp set from our Daily Bread Designs and the Doily die (exclusive to ODBD).  I made 12 of these in  a variety of colors for the Sunday School teachers at our church as a thank you. They have given of themselves forthe entire year to the children in their classes and I felt this was the least I could do.  I put it inside a devotional book. This particular bookmark uses Stampin UP satin ribbon and Prima Botanical paper.

bookmark recipe:
Paper: Prima Botanical and very vanilla

Happy Friday Everyone!! I hope you are all doing well and are ready for the weekend!!  I know I am ready for the weekend but this weekend will be busy as we have several overnight guests coming for the weekend.  I really enjoy having our entire family together so I am not complaining.  It will be so nice to see them all...but it will be busy!!!

Today, Whimsy is kicking off the Weekend with sneak peaks for the July release.  Today's sneak peaks include the new sentiments and dies!!!!

For my creation I used the Summer Seals Sentiment Collection designed by Ann Vento of Raindrop Echo designs!!!  I just love these seals.  They are so versatile.  You can use them with images, put them on gift boxes or have them stand alone.

I really wanted to go with a summer feel so I used a fruity paper with strawberries on it from the Bearly Mine Delicious Delights paper collection (Fruit).I won this a couple of weeks ago at the Bearly Mine challenge.  I really am loving Donna's digital paper!!!

I went with a red, white and blue theme with a splash of kraft (neutral) and black. The navy paper is embossed with the Spots embossing folder from Provocraft.  The sentiment is framed with the Lacey circles from Spellbinders and the Fancy tags dies.

card recipe:

Paper: Delicious Delights from Bearly Mine Digital Paper collection, Navy, real red, Kraft, white and black CS
