Hello, Friends!!  Well, the summer is over here in VA, at least for the students.  School is back in session.  I begin working with homebound instruction shortly as well but taking a week off after completing my 2 graduate classes.  Phew!! It is done.  The summer flew by!!

Today I would like to share a card I created with the Birdhouse stamp set released in August at Our Daily Bread Designs using the sketch challenge from this month's Shining the Light challenge!!  I added some additional flowers and leaves as well as a bird (which I colored as a gold finch) and popped them up on dimensionals.

Our Daily Bread Designs, Birdhouse, Ornate Ovals dies, Leafy Edged Borders dies, Pierced Ovals dies, Pierced Squares dies, Double Stitched Squares Dies, Pierced Rectangles Dies, Double Stitched Rectangles Dies, Old Glory Paper Collection, designed by Chris Olsen

Matthew 6: 25-27
25Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or drink; or about your body, what you will wear. Is not life more than food, and the body more than clothes? 26Look at the birds of the air: They do not sow or reap or gather into barns — and yet yourHeavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much more valuable than they? 27Who of you by worrying can add a single hour to his lifespan?…

If you would like to join the challenge.  We would love to see your creations.  You have until September 4 to add your creation to the linky here for a chance to win a $15 random gift code toward ODBD stamps.  While you may use any stamps or dies for the first creation, we ask that you only use Northcoast Creations, Our Daily Bread Designs, and/or Artistic Outpost on any additional entries.  Any additional entries not using at least one of these company products will be deleted.

Here is the sketch:

Today I am sharing a personalized bookmark card I created with the August Release from Our Daily Bread Designs.  Making cards personal is what makes making cards even more special.  Have you ever noticed when you go to buy a card, you can't find the right one that says it all.  The Alphabet dies from ODBD has really assisted in making my cards even more personal. The bookmark on this card detaches.  The image on the bookmark is created with the Birdhouse stamp and masking to a narrow scene.

The other products used on this card are the  new Trellis strip die, Vintage Borders dies, Bookmark dies, Pierced Ovals dies, Pierced Rectangles dies, Double Stitched Rectangles dies, Lavish Layers, and Pastel Paper Pack.

The verse on this card is one we often here but do we really pay attention to what it really means.

Think about how God's love is, even though we have sinned against Him.  He is so patient with us, and He isn't easily angered (Exodus 34:6). Instead of being so easily angered with us.  He sent His Son to die for us because God loves us so much. He made a sacrifice. He gave his only Son to the world (John 3:16).  Love is sacrificing and when you love someone, you put their needs before yours...even if they've hurt you or angered you, be patient with them because love is patient.

How are your relationships with others?  What love do you have for them?  Do you love them unconditionally and Biblically, or do you love them when you feel like it, depending on your circumstances or how they treat you?  Do you love without expecting anything else in return?  Always remember, God loves you even though you are a sinner. (Romans 5:8)

Thanks so much for stopping by and for your comments.  Have a blessed day!!

Good Morning!! I hope you all are having a great beginning to your day!! " His mercies are new every morning!!!"

What a blessing to start each day anew.

Today I am popping in to share a card I created that makes me feel like the sun is shining even if it is rainy and clammy here.  I used bright cheery colors that I hope makes you smile as it does me.

This card is created with the new August Release at ODBD: Birdhouse.  I had so much fun coloring up this image especially the gold finch and birdhouse.  Wood is so fun to color!!  The gold finch reminds me of those finches I see out in my yard.  The background of this card was created with the Art Deco die and a Damask Embossing folder.  After centering and die cutting two strips of the Art Deco from a 5x5 piece of Old Olive piece of paper, I inked up my Damask folder with Old Olive ink and then embossed the negative pieces left from the square to make the embossing pattern to pop and give more shading and dimension to the background.  I then sponged the inside of the art deco die that is exposed through the die with old olive as well.  I then put the pieces together and put a darker sheet of olive behind my die cut background and created a frame with the same shade of green.

Hello Friends!! Happy Tuesday!!  For those of you who stopped by  yesterday on the ODBD release, you have already seen so many beautiful creations by the Our Daily Bread Designs Bread Basket (ODBD team members) for the August release.  Today is a new Shining the Light challenge at ODBD and more inspiration from some of the team members.

This month's Shining the Light challenge is a sketch!!  It has been a while since we had a sketch challenge.

Here is my creation.  I used a variety of dies rather than using an image in the circular panel.  My panel is also more oval than round...

Our Daily Bread Designs, Thanks for Everything stamp die duo, Trellis Strip Border dies, Pierced Square Dies, Pierced Rectangles Dies, Double Stitched Rectangles dies, Lovely Leaves Dies, Bitty Blossoms dies, Bitty Border Dies, Mini Bow dies, designed by Chris Olsen

The background of the square is created with the new Trellis Strip Border die at ODBD. To create this background I used the new Pierced Squares die to create a recessed frame.  I then cut two of the Trellis Strips to adhere behind it. The die cut thanks and the sentiment at the bottom of the card is created using the Thanks for Everything stamp die duos.  The die is framed with the Vintage Labels dies. The flower spray is created using the Lovely Leaves dies and the Bitty Blossoms dies. The border along the bottom is created using the Bitty Border Dies and Mini Bow dies.  The rectangular panels are cut and embossed with the Double Stitched Rectangles Dies and Pierced Rectangles dies.
