ODBD Bread Basket

Tuesday, August 9, 2016
Good Morning!! I hope you all are having a great beginning to your day!! " His mercies are new every morning!!!"

What a blessing to start each day anew.

Today I am popping in to share a card I created that makes me feel like the sun is shining even if it is rainy and clammy here.  I used bright cheery colors that I hope makes you smile as it does me.

This card is created with the new August Release at ODBD: Birdhouse.  I had so much fun coloring up this image especially the gold finch and birdhouse.  Wood is so fun to color!!  The gold finch reminds me of those finches I see out in my yard.  The background of this card was created with the Art Deco die and a Damask Embossing folder.  After centering and die cutting two strips of the Art Deco from a 5x5 piece of Old Olive piece of paper, I inked up my Damask folder with Old Olive ink and then embossed the negative pieces left from the square to make the embossing pattern to pop and give more shading and dimension to the background.  I then sponged the inside of the art deco die that is exposed through the die with old olive as well.  I then put the pieces together and put a darker sheet of olive behind my die cut background and created a frame with the same shade of green.

Just stunning Chris! I love how you did the background with the die cuts, the inked and embossed negative space, and then piecing it back together! Just beautiful and the little birds colored as gold finches is so bright and cheery! As always... a gorgeous creation my friend!!! I made it through my big day of infusions and Drs. L_O_N_G day but done! :)

Hugs,
Grace
