ODBD Bread Basket

Happy Tuesday Friends!! I hope you all had a great weekend and are enjoying the summer!  I know I am!! It seems like it is flying by!!  Three more weeks and school begins here.  How sad!!

When I think of summer I think of my daylilies and flowers.  With that in mind, I used the new Shining the Light challenge sketch to create a summer themed card using one of my fave color combos.

Our Daily Bread Designs, Fragrance, Trois Jolie Papillons, Home Sweet Home ODBD dies Used: Layered Lacey Squares, Beautiful Borders, Trois Papillons, Mini Tags, designed by Chris Olsen

Here is a matching gift set I created using the card above and a desk pen/letter opener set my husband turned.  I just love them together.  Here is the link to the desk set available in our Etsy store

The grass withers and flowers fade, but the Word of our God lives forever. Isaiah 40:8

I just love flowers, especially day lilies and I so look forward to the new surprises that will open each day from our 99 different varieties!!  As beautiful as they are, they don't last forever.  What a comfort that God's promises and Word endure.  It is not like the daylily that lasts for one day and then die, but it (God's Word and promises) is constant and the one thing we can depend upon. What a blessing!!

We would love to have you join us for the sketch.  For more details, you can visit the ODBD blog or see the inspiration from my dt sisters:

Thanks for stopping by and for your comments!!

Ah Chris, this is one superb card, blue and white always have a classic stand out beauty, how I love those borders. ;)

And we are indeed rich through it and our lives are enriched by the eternal anchor of Gods word.

OMGoodness Chris, this is just gorgeous! I LOVE the purple and green used here. It is so lovely together. Love the flowers in purple and never would have thought of it...they are beautiful in this color. Your double border is super elegant and I love your stitching (I always love that on your cards!)that goes all the way around. The yellow/orange is perfect with the purple on the butterflies and flower centers as well...perfect matching of colors for a striking card! I love your words of encouragement as well and your verse is a wonderful reminder. Thank you for sharing!!

Beautiful, I love the way you colored them, I just picked up this stamp set at the stamp show here last weekend, so it's neat to see how everyone is coloring them, not sure what kind of flower it is suppose to be, you were talking about day lilies so I was wondering if that is what they are :) the butterflies are so pretty with the flowers too!

Oh, Chris, this is gorgeous! I just love the colors you've used, and the shade of blue (almost a periwinkle) is stunning, and your coloring is gorgeous! What a beautiful card for this week's sketch (hmmm, I may have to try this one). I love how you've really used the dies beautifully, and I just love these flowers!! They are some of my favorites (and I just had to get them too...hehe!). Hugs, sweet friend...and remember, summer's not over yet!! :-)
