About Me
- Chris Olsen, Glowbug
- Hi! I am Chris, also known as Glowbug on Splitcoaststampers. I live in Appomattox, VA. I so much enjoy blogging and the so many good friendships that have formed as a result. During my free time, I am creating cards or projects and I so enjoy Challenges. I have a very supportive husband, Scott, who understands my addiction and two young daughters,Meghan, 9 and Nicki, 12 years of age, who can't wait to get their hands on my stamps and embellishments. I was an elementary school teacher until my youngest was born. I have now been blessed with the opportunity to teach my two girls at home. I use stamping as a hobby or way to escape.

Today I am popping in with this week's Shining the Light challenge at Our Daily Bread Designs!! This week's challenge is:
Be Inspired by a song or Music.
My card is inspired by Joy to the World!! What joy to know that God sent His one and only son at Christmas!! While our World places more emphasis and importance on Christmas, without Easter, there would be no celebration at Christmas. God sent His Son as a humble baby in the humble manger so that He would in the future die for us. If Christ had not done that for us, what difference would Christmas really make? Thanks be to God for His unspeakable GIFT. All we need to do as His people is to accept His gift. In these trying times when the world seems to be fighting, immoral and falling apart at the seams, WE as a Nation need to RECEIVE HER KING and recognize without Him we are doomed. Instead our government seems to be trying to push God out of our Pledge of Allegiance, our schools, off our dollar bill, and out of our lives. This is what our country was Founded on..I am unsure of what our future is as a nation but I thank God that it is He who holds my future!!!
Card Recipe:
ODBD stamps used: Holly Pattern Mini, The Earth, Poinsettia Wreath
ODBD dies used: Fancy Foliage, Circle Ornaments
Other dies: Spellbinders Ovals (Classic), Cheery Lynn French Doily Die
Accessories: Poinsettia embossing folder (SU)

Hello Friends!!
Today I had the pleasure of playing with the WT451- Masked Fun challenge at Splitcoast. What a perfect challenge for Halloween. LOL! Instead of making a Halloween card, however, I went with Christmas.
I masked the Christmas Rose from Our Daily Bread Designs 4 times to create a "garden" of roses. I also used masking with a scalloped die to create my sky. After I colored my image with copics (R00, R01, R11, R20, R22, R24, Y21 and Y35 for the roses, G00, YGO3, YG17, and G21 for the leaves, and R24, R59, and R48 for the berries), I dry embossed my panel with Darice Damask.
My sewing machine was acting up this a.m. GRRRRRR! So I decided to create a pierced border instead. The sentiment is a sneak peek from Vintage Pattern Ornaments to be released tomorrow at ODBD.
This card also fits this week's Shining the Light Challenge ODBDSLC176 at ODBD which is to not use ribbon or lace. If you have the time, we would love to have you join us!!
I am entering this into the Word Art Wednesday challenge which is Anything Goes. Word art Wednesday shares free inspirational scripture and sentiments each week!!
Well that is all for me today!! I had fun creating this but now it is off to work I go. I hope you all have a chance to stop by tomorrow for the New Release at Our Daily Bread Designs!!!
Have a blessed day!!!
