ODBD Bread Basket

Tuesday, August 12, 2014
Happy Tuesday Friends!! I hope you are having a great beginning to your day!!

Today I am popping in to share a card using a sketch for the Shining the Light challenge at Our Daily Bread Designs!!

I just love the variety of styles you can create when you create cards, this week I am going from the masculine take on the Shining the Light sketch to the more feminine with lots of texture.

I colored and fussy cut the Rose image from Our Daily Bread Designs.  I popped it up on a layer of Majestic Labels that is also cut out using the Vintage Labels dies from ODBD.  It was then layered on the Vintage Flourish Pattern die.

After embossing the background with the Paper Studio Quatrefoil embossing folder, I adhered some pearls.  The card is framed with the Spellbinders Valiant Honor Die.

Our Daily Bread Designs, Flip Flop Fun, Rose, Vintage Labels dies, Vintage Flourish Pattern Dies, designer-Chris Olsen

Card Recipe:
ODBD Stamps Used: Flip Flop Fun, Rose
ODBD Dies Used: Vintage Labels, Vintage Flourish Pattern
Spellbinders dies: Majestic Labels 25 dies, Valiant Honor dies
other: scrap ribbon, Quatrefoil embossing folder from Paper Studio, Pearls

Part of enjoying or making the most of a day is being thankful to God for each and every day!!  No day is a guarantee and is indeed a gift!!  My recent accident, has taught me how quickly things can happen or how what seems little things can be life threatening.  Who would have thought tripping over a wheel barrow and breaking or injuring a leg would end up in a major pulmonary embolism. Never take life and health granted.  Have you thanked God for the day He has given to you!!

Here is the photo of the sketch:

This is stunning Chris! I love how you used these dies and the embossing. Now the roses look gorgeous, I think we need a die for these , because my fussy cutting is a mess :).

Oh, sweet Chris, this is gorgeous! I love your fussy-cut rose against all your beautifully layered dies and embossing! Stunning! And your gorgeous ribbon and wonderful pearls add so much beautiful! Stunning! And thank you for sharing that beautiful image with Psalm 118:24. Yes, we never know what God will bring into our lives...moment by moment. But what a joy to know that He is always with us and has a plan. Praying that you continue to heal and feel better with less and less pain! Hugs, precious friend!

Chris, I'm just returning from vacation myself and am blown away how fast the summer has gone by. But even worse, was to find that you had suffered an accident. I'm thankful that you are doing well and as always, your beautiful spirit shines through. Blessings to you!

This is also gorgeous with its bright roses. Those dies... sigh... you're so wonderful at layering and texturing. We just came back from a funeral yesterday and yes - enjoy each day and never take it for granted. But I must admit, I will probably steer clear from wheelbarrows henceforth.
