About Me
- Chris Olsen, Glowbug
- Hi! I am Chris, also known as Glowbug on Splitcoaststampers. I live in Appomattox, VA. I so much enjoy blogging and the so many good friendships that have formed as a result. During my free time, I am creating cards or projects and I so enjoy Challenges. I have a very supportive husband, Scott, who understands my addiction and two young daughters,Meghan, 9 and Nicki, 12 years of age, who can't wait to get their hands on my stamps and embellishments. I was an elementary school teacher until my youngest was born. I have now been blessed with the opportunity to teach my two girls at home. I use stamping as a hobby or way to escape.

Hello Friends!!! This is the day that the Lord has made let us rejoice and be glad in it!!! Another beautiful fall day. The days seem to be a little cooler but beautiful all the same. Yesterday was rainy and cold so the sun being out is definitely more motivating. Yesterday I could stay in my jammies all day. LOL!
Thanks for stopping by!! I treasure all my viewers/blogging friends and their comments.
Have a blessed Day!!!

Anywho...today I want to share a creation I made for this week's Shining the Light challenge.
This week's challenge:
Use Fall colors and a verse.
For my creation I made a little more CAS card for me. I cut out the apples from the wreath in the Apple Wreath stamp set at Our Daily Bread Designs. The verse is from Pumpkin Wreath. The texture was created with the Spellbinders Lattice die and some pearls. The semi circle was cut out of the first panel with a Standard Circle from spellbinders and outlined with the Spellbinder Scalloped Circle.
This verse could be used any time but it is perfect for Thanksgiving as well. I know that my family and I have so much thankful after our recent move. I know and have felt God's presence and leading in all we have done. Thank you God for always being with us!!
"Our God, we Thank You and Praise Your Glorious Name. 1 Chronicles 29:13"

Card Recipe:
ODBD Stamps used: Pumpkin Wreath and Apple Wreath
Spellbinders Dies: Basic Lattice, Standard and Classic Circles
Accessories: Green ribbon, pearls

Today is Kelley, owner of Our Daily Bread Designs, birthday and the team is having a hop in her honor!!! Today she turns 50!!! Happy Birthday Kelley!!!
Some of us on the Design Teams at ODBD have gotten together a Birthday Blog Hop for Kelley. We're so happy to have you join us on this hop... and we hope you will visit each post and leave a comment, because a few of the DT members have some BLOG CANDY hidden along the way!
*You will have to leave a comment on each blog and the team members who have the candy will be drawing names from those who commented on their post, announcing it on Oct. 10th!
*There will also be a Winners Post on the ODBD Blog on Oct. 10th giving the names of the winners and links to the blogs that held the candy!
So if you didn't start at the Our Daily Bread designs Blog and arrive here from the talented Dawn's blog, you might want to, so you don't miss any chances to win!
Here is the card I created for Kelley:
This card is created using the Harvest Blessings sunflowers cut out with the custom ODBD Sunflower die. The sentiment is from the Be Joyful Stamp set and is cut and matted with Spellbinders Classic and Scalloped Ovals. The background of the card is created with the Spellbinders Lattice die, A-2 Polka Dots, and the A-2 Matting Basics.
Thanks for joining in wishing Kelley a Happy Birthday, the next stop on the hop is the sweet Debi's blog.

| Hello Friends!! I hope all are doing well. This week we had a day of rain and then it was back to the warmer temperatures here in Virginia. The nicest part of living here, however, is most nights cool down dramatically. It is hard to believe that after having temps in the mid to high eighties, the weather is suppose to drop to the mid fifties on Sunday. Wow!! Anywho, today I thought I would pop in to share a Christmas card I created with the sketch (SC405) at Splitcoast Stampers. I found the sketch to be challenging and it definitely made me think. While it would have been easier to go with a butterfly or leaf on the right side, I wanted to do something different. It was a little tricky.... For my creation I used the Our Daily Bread Designs O Christmas Tree , Blessed Christmas , and Oh Christmas Tree Carol . The tree is embossed with white. The background is the Oh Christmas Tree Carol embossed in Kaleidoscope on Sahara Sand. The scallops are created using the A2 Polka Dots Dies from Spellbinders. I just love Christmas trees!! Christmas trees have been a traditional decoration for many years in many years. As a Christian the tree at Christmas is "Evergreen" which symbolizes everlasting life. What greater gift than sending your one only Son as a humble baby...who would sacrifice His life for us!! |
| Card Recipe: Stamps Used: Our Daily Bread Designs O Christmas Tree , Blessed Christmas , and Oh Christmas Tree Carol Dies: A2 Polka Dots Dies from SpellbindersInk or Embossing Powders: Memento Black for the sentiment, Versa Mark, Kaleidoscope and white embossing powder, Tim Holtz Vintage Distress ink Papers: Sahara Sand (SU), Black, Neenah White, Soft Sky (SU) tools: Bow Easy. Dots embossing folder for the background layer I also made this card as a reminder for this week's Shining the Light challenge at Our Daily Bread Designs which is "Musical" Thanks for stopping by today!! I hope you are somehow inspired by my creation!! I greatly appreciate all your sweet comments!!
Have a blessed Day!!!

Hello all!! I am just popping in for a small post. I am still under the weather and really had more fun making a smaller project today with a sneak peek from Our Daily Bread Designs- Perfect Gift stamp set and Oh Christmas Tree Carol. So I made a gift box and a set of gift tags!! How fun and simple!! I decided to go with non-traditional colors. These would be perfect for my dear daughter who loves pink!!!
The first is my gift box which I altered. I stamped the Oh Christmas Tree Carol in all directions, masking as I went to create a shabby or vintage flair. I then antiqued the sides with Vintage distress ink from Tim Holtz. The tag is created with the sentiment and gifts from the Perfect Gift set from ODBD to be released on Monday, October 1.
The next project is a set of tags I created using the sneak peek Perfect Gift from Our Daily Bread Designs. They are so fun and easy. The colors are pink pirouette and pear pizaaz from Stampin Up. I also added gold glitter paper to one of them. The fun part is that they can be any color to compliment a gift!!
