SFYTT / WT216 From Elegant, Inspirational and Floral to Cutesy

Happy Thursday!! I can't believe how fast the week is flying by. I have managed to accomplish a lot though both with card creations and work around the house. Yesterday I even worked in my garden. It felt good to get out there even if it was pulling weeds. The temperature here has been weird here lately. It went from almost 100 degrees to frost this morning. Yikes!! It warmed up to the low 60's during the day which was beautiful for me and more normal for this time of year in New York.

Have you ever been embarassed by your children and you wish you could explain yourself but just never get the opportunity to? This afternoon after my oldest daughter, Nicki who is 9, was done with her schoolwork she went upstairs. I didn't think anything of it. I had to do something on the computer so I walked into the den and there she was on my computer, on Splitcoast, leaving comments using my user name on MY cards. Nicki is my biggest fan!! I love her dearly but did she have to make it look like I was leaving comments on my own cards. Granted she addressed it to "Mom" and signed it with Nicki but still...... The girls are not suppose to go on the computer without asking me but I know she was trying to surprise me when I looked that night. Well she surprised me alright!! How you can get angry when she was trying to be kind!!!






Well anywho.....The first card I am going to share with you is a card that I made using Jenn's SFYTT sketch for this week and a Penny Black stamp. I don't often get to pull out these cute stamps. I made it over the weekend when I wasn't feeling too great but even so it felt good to ink up this baby! A friend of mine wanted me to make her a cat birthday card for her daughter who loves cats. I watercolored the image and made it 3D. The flourish is spritzed with suede and gold glimmermist. The paper is a new Brenda Walton DP pack from Michaels.

The second card I made was for today's WT216 challenge to use Black. Since I wanted to make it look soft for a baby card for a dear friend, Jolene, who just had a darling baby boy, I decided to use black to frame the cool carribean DP and for the embellishments. The OCCC challenge was to use one of your favorite color combos and this is definitely one of them. The image is a baby dragon from High Hopes that was sent to me by my dear friend, Michelle of Mommy Time. (She is such an awesome card artist, if you have not visited her, you really should. She is a High Hopes dt member and my jaw hits the floor each time I see her gorgeous coloring and fab creations.) I colored the image with prisma color pencils and gamsol.

Here is what I came up with this week. I cased this week's Featured Stamper, Kathy Wattle, FS116, she is the sweetest and I so admire all her elegant creations. She never ceases to amaze me! This is the card I cased here. I changed the stampset, color palette, punches,dp, sentiment, and the color ribbon and kept her layout. The dp is from Basic Grey Boxer and SU Bella Bird. The cs color is bordering blue. The butterflies are from and Inkadinkado Butterfly clear stampset.

Bella Blossoms Galore!!

Hi everyone!! I don't know how the weather is by you but boy am I roasting. Another 100 degree day here. I can't believe it is April and we have this heat. They say tonight is severe thunderstorms. I believe it since this is the only way to break this heat wave. Tomorrow it is suppose to be 65 degrees, a lot more normal for here!! My girls have been running through sprinklers and walking around in their bathing suits. I am looking forward to a cooler day tomorrow so I can work in my perenial gardens.

Today I have two cards to share with you both with the same set, Bella Blossoms. I think this is one of my all time faves from SU. The first card I made for today's color challenge (CC216-Real Red, Old Olive, and black) hosted by DT sister Betty! She always make cards with such awesome colors!! I used the Mojo84 sketch for this week and the CAS12 challenge to use ribbon scraps on my card. That sure wasn't hard. I always cut the ribbon too long or have just have a teeny tiny bit left on my roll that really can't be used for much of anything.

I inked up my blossom in real red and old olive. I cut it out, layered it and added pearls to the middle. The white pieces of CS are dry embossed with the textile and swirls embossing folders. The sentiment is from Verve's Wishful Elegance. The brass spiral clips are actually brass ornament hangers that I bought for $1 on clearance at Target (36 to a pack!!). I cut the spirals off. The dp has leaves in the background. I used SU Holiday Treasures.

The second card uses the same Stampset but the butterfly is from the Dreams Dujour stampset. I did this for Splitscoasts Way to Use it challenge (WT215) for last week. You were only aloud to use one cardstock color, White. You could do anything to it to add color or texture. I embossed my flower in gold as I did the butterfly and sentiment. The background is dry embossed with the Cuttlebug textile folder and the Sizzix Argyle folder. I used my favorite mega curved rectangle for the shape of the card. I embossed gold on the edges to make it look layered. The sentiment is punched with the Ribbon Trios set from Spellbinders. The sentiment is warm words. The flowers are Hero Arts white and cream flowers.

Featuring "Kathy Wattle" challenge on a sneak peak of an Eagle from ODBD and Bloomin Beautiful

Happy Monday!! Sorry for my absence over the weekend. I have been having some health issues these past couple of weeks and it esculated over the weekend so I layed low. Thankfully I am feeling much better although I am not 100% yet. I hope you are all doing well!

It has reached almost 10o degrees here over the last couple of days which is unbelievable in New York in April!! We actually had to put our AC on upstairs since it was 90 degrees up there and very difficult to sleep in. It has really sped up the blooming of my spring flowers. Here is a weeping Cherry Tree from in front of our house. Isn't it beautiful!!

This week's featured stamper on SC is Kathy Wattle (FS116)!! I have always love Kathy's creations!! She is also the sweetest!! Congrats Kathy! You so deserve this!! Since spring is here and when I think of spring and summer, I think flowers, I decided to case this card of Kathy's. I used the same image and layout and changed my colors, ribbon, sentiment and made many additions including dry embossing behind my image, watercoloring my image 3 times and layering it, using my cropodile to put holes around the scalloped circle, sewing around the edge, created a marbelized designer paper (cameo coral, appricot appeal, and pretty in pink) using today's TLC218 Rolling Marbles, adding a punched border to the bottom and adding pearls to my flowers. This week's OCCC challenge was to use your favorite color combinations. I love any pink, peach, or blue with brown. I decided to use cameo coral and Bitter Chocolate.

Good Morning! I have some Spiral Whisper Sneak Peeks for you!

Good Morning!! I have been busy yesterday and in the wee hours of this a.m. trying to get together some sneak peeks for you using the new Spiral Whisper digital images that will be available on Monday, April 27. There just doesn't seem to be enough hours in a day to homeschool my girls, keep up my house, and stamp too along with all my church and outside activities for the girls and I! Seems like I am getting less and less sleep. Hopefully after this weekend things will slow down and I can "Take Time to Smell the Roses". Speaking of roses, I really have to go into my perenial gardens and pick all those weeds and some dead stuff out before the flowers come. Oh I can't wait for all the flowers!! This weekend is suppose to be warm and sunny without the 30 to 40 mph winds we have been having this week.

Anywho.....here they are. Two were made for LSC217 to use the colors from rooms in your house. The other was just for fun! These images are perfect for a teenage girl. I don't know about you but I find teenage cards difficult. There seems to be more and more "teenage images" coming out.

This first card uses the colors from my bathroom and the digital image "Independant" from Spiral Whisper. The image is colored in copics. The DP is from K&CO Que Sera Lera and SU Afternoon Tea. The CS is Groovy Guava, Very Vanilla, and Bitter Chocolate (Bazzill). I am not sure of the name of this embossing folder from Cuttlebug. The punch I used on the thin panel is from EK Success.

This next card uses the colors from my living room. It also uses an image from Spiral Whisper's Independant Set (Digital Images). I colored it with copics. The dp is from Basic Grey Euphoria. The sketch I used is SC218 from SC. The flower is a recycled flower that my daughter rescued from Michael's before an employee threw it in the garbage. My daughter is a pack rat and collects everything. This is one time that her collecting paid off. I was embarassed at the time (I don't know why because she is always looking on the ground for little treasures) It is perfect for this card. Thanks Nicki! The buttons are from my mending jar. Lol! These are buttons that need to be sewed back on clothes. I have so many now I don't even know what they belong to.

Again I used one of my favorite nesties (Mega Rectangle). I love the shape of it. The punches are from Martha stewart (larger punch on the side) and EK Success heart border punch. The flowers are from the Fusion Too set and prima. The mini rose prima is from Michaels. The ribbon is Ribbon Bowtique that I purchased around the holidays.

Bittersweet Fairy- High Hopes

Good Morning!! Today looks like it is going to be a beauti-

ful day. Hopefully the weather energizes me to get a lot done because I have a very busy day ahead of me. Tomorrow there will be more previews or Sneak Peeks of some new releases for Spiral Whisper. I also hope to have a sneak peek of an Our Daily Bread Designs set. I love these new sets coming out and I can't wait to ink them up!!

Today's card is a High Hopes Fairy Princess! She is so adorable with her wishing wand in hand. Just imagine if there truly were fairies and they could grant you your wishes. What would you wish? My first wish, on a small scale in the area of crafting, would be to have a much bigger selection of copics!! I love coloring with them but I have slim pickings. I guess I should stop buying more stamps and designer paper and start saving for copics! That is so hard though. I just preordered the Whiff of Joy Summer Kit! I love Elizabeth Bell images!! I can never get enough. I wish I could use them more often than I do. My goal....to use more of these images. Between High Hopes, Whiff of Joy, Greeting Farm (Anya in particular), Whimsy and Pink Cat Studio, a girl could go broke!! Oh yes, can't forget my wishlist for Verve and Flourishes!

Anywho...here is my little fairy. I used the sketch from yesterday's SC225 and the colors of CC215 (Pink Pirouette, Basic Grey, and Rose Red with the addition of Chocolate chip as my neutral color). I also incorporated the challenge by High hopes #27 to add distressing and the Flutter by Wednesday, to add use a fairy or a butterfly. Since I didn't have all the copics needed to color the image I used both my prismacolor pencils and gamsol and my copics. I made the wings shimmer by embossing them with holographic embossing powder. The image is cut out and popped up on dimensionals. I distressed my image by adding ink on most edges and using a paper distresser on all the edges of my layout. All the dp is from Basic Grey Bittersweet. I used my Bosskut flourish die and my Martha Stewart leaf punch around the prima flower that I got from Michaels. I took out the green stamens and added a brown button instead. The dry embossing on the white is the Cuttlebug Textile Folder.

Flutter By Tulip- FBW#54

Good Morning!! It seems like I was just here posting. I did not even get a chance to blog hop last night. We had an incredible Thunderstorm and my hubby and I turned off and unplugged all the electronics. It was incredible! You could feel the rumble of the thunder. Many of my knick knacks rattled right off the shelves. It petrified my youngest daughter, Meghan. I haven't ever experienced an earthquake, nor do I care to, but boy did you feel everything shake!! I can only imagine!

Anywho..... Today is Wednesday and today is another Flutter By Wednesday Challenge!!! Today's challenge is to use a fairy or butterfly on your card. Isn't that just easy peasy and so fun for the beginning of spring!!! Danni, the hostess of this challenge is featuring two designers for this challenge, Jodi, a fellow Flutter By DT sister and Lauren Meader our Guest. These girls are so incredible, you won't want to miss their creations!!!

Now on to share my creation!! This was so fun and easy peasy. I was away most of the day so I had limited time to make my creation. When I saw yesterday's color challenge, I remembered some 3D K&Co. tulip stickers that I bought on clearance at Michaels that I just thought were gorgeous that had all these colors!!!! I was extatic to have the opportunity to use them on some of these challenges: Today's Flutter By Wednesday (to use a fairy or butterfly on your card, WT210 (Stuck to you again, to use stickers on your card), yesterday's CC215 (to use Rose red, Pink Pirouette, and Basic Grey), and this week's SFYTT Challenge hosted by Jenn. The gorgeous dp is from Magenta- tapestry line. I was even able to use my favorite spellbinders nestability, Labels 4 since it is shaped like an oval. I added texture by dry embossing all my white and pink pirouette backgrounds. I was thinking of giving it to my mother in law for Mother's Day. What do you think?

Mojo 83 Spiral Whisper Sneak Peek "Chirping Hellos" and "Your Friendship Makes My Heart happy"

Hello All!! Happy Tuesday!! Boy the day has just flown by. Scott and I had some business to attend to all day so I am just now arriving back home again just in time to leave with my girls to their GEMS Girls Club that I am also a leader for. I wanted to quickly post something for you though before I left. Hopefully I have time to Blog Hop upon my return.

The two cards I am sharing with you today are using images from Spiral Whisper. The first card uses two different sets of images: Birds and Trees, that are to be released tomorrow. The sketch I used was the MOJO 83 (this week's sketch) SSNOTIME82 (Hang it Up). I hung the little birdhouse with ribbon at the bottom. The images are colored with Prisma Color and Gamsol, cut out, mounted on dimensionals and glittered for some added sparkle. (I love Glitz!!) I used some of my favorite Nestabilities, Labels 4 and the classic frame (Both available here). All of the designer paper is from Stampin UP (Bella Rose, Ski Slope, and A Walk in the Park). The cardstock is SU Old Olive and Bazzil Bitter Chocolate.

This second card uses a single stamp called Emily and Burt from Spiral Whisper. Isn't she just a cute little princess with her frog. I colored her with gamsol. I created the designer paper using a pink piece of designer paper from Imaginesce and the Gesso techinique for yesterday's Technique Challenge (TLC217). The stamp I used on this technique was a flourish from SU Brocade Basics. Designer paper works well with this technique since it is thicker than magazines or newspaper and holds its shape better. First I put a couple layers of Gesso (available at Michaels or any Art store with the paint supplies since it is a primer). The I stamped versamark flourishes randomly around the DP and clear embossed it. Then I sponged different shades of pink on the paper highlighting the stamped areas. The layout is using one of the cards from Jammerz gallery, the featured stamper which can be found here. (She has some awesome Bella cards!!) I loved how she used the vellum for the sentiment. I changed the way I did my ribbon, the image, stamps, sentiment, and some of my colors.

Mojo 83/ OCCC/ Gesso Shabby Chic in Flight / ODBD Children of the Lord

Happy Monday Everyone!! I hope everyone had a great weekend! After being in bed with migraines over the weekend, boy do I have a lot of catching up to do. I am feeling much better today and for that I feel truly blessed. Now it is time to stamp, stamp, stamp to catch up. Spiral Whisper has a few new releases that are to be previewed tomorrow that I have not yet got to since I received the images when I had my migraine. No Mojo or anything when I have a migraine, I am afraid. I guess tonight I will be stamping the night away. Enough of that....on to my creations for today.

The first card is one that I made for several challenges since I did have a lot of catching up to do (LOL!). I used the sketch from Mojo 83, the technique from today's Technique Lover's Challenge: Gesso Resist. (You can find the tutorial here) for my main image panel, the OCCC and challenge to use something recycled (magazine article that I used for the Gesso Resist Technique, leftover ribbon that wasn't enough for a bow, and DP from my scraps) and CT0409 (Go green, I not only used the color green, I used recycled items as well), and lastly Saturday's Inspiration Challenge IC176 from the Skeem Shop website. I use the Birds in Flight stampset from Inkadinkado for my resist. After I primed the magazine with gesso, I stamped the bird in flight with versamark onto the magazine and embossed it with clear. Then I sponged around over the image in sage shadow, certainly celery, river rock, baja breeze and taken with teal. The I embossed another bird on white paper with white embossing powder, sponged it with the different greens listed above, and then cut it out to layer on my image. The bottom panel under the image is sponged with baja breeze and rolled with a retired flower wheel in taken with teal. The punch on the border is EK Success. The dp background behind the image panel is two scraps on Parisian Breeze paper (edges are hidden under the layers) that were distressed and inked with taken with teal.

Card #2 is an image from Our Daily Bread Designs called Children of the Lord. I made this for a friend who just adopted a little one from Guatamala. I used the Limited Supply Challenge from Friday (LSC216) to use one wheel (flower wheel), One sentiment ( Matthew 18:5, ODBD Children of God), one image (Our Daily Bread Designs image from Children of God), and one embellishment (ribbon). I used my favorite designer paper for SU- Parisian Breeze, Chocolate Chip CS and white CS.

SC224 Love is ......, Mojo 82 Mother's Day Blooms, Exciting News!

Happy Friday everyone!!! Woo hoo!! It is sunny outside and I don't have to teach the girls today for homeschooling!! What is a mom going to do with all this free time!!!..... What else....but stamp!! Hee! Hee! No seriously, the schools are off this week for vacation. I decided I had to give my girls one of the six days all the other neighboring kids had off as well. My kids are so lucky to have a Mom that was a teacher and who will not sacrifice their learning for anything...Not! I do keep their best interests in mind but they don't always appreciate how hard I make them work. They will later. What are they doing on their day off? They are coloring, writing letters and making cards. Not that I want to discourage my 6 year old from writing, but I want them to enjoy the day before it goes into the 40's again next week!

Well on to my cards! Today I have two to share. (I have been late with most all of the challenges this week since I have been dealing with migraine headaches this week but amy very thankful that I was able to participate at all. ) The first is one that I made yesterday for this week's sketch challenge (SC224), Flutter By Wednesday Challenge (to use dies and have a butterfly or fairy on your card) and SSnotime82 (to have something hanging on your card) using the 1 Corinthians 13 set from Our Daily Bread Designs. The paper is from Michaels!! They have such a nice assortment now. This is My Mind's Eye 29th Market Street. The flowers are Prima mini flowers also from Michaels that I sponged with lavender to match my card. The hearts that are hanging are actually an image stamped in plum from Our Daily Bread Designs Love One Another set on Shrinky Dink Paper and shrunk in the oven to make a charm. The ribbon is an Off White satin from May Arts.

The second card I made for today's Limited Supply Challenge 216 using the Mojo Monday sketch and the Color challenge (Bordering Saffron Pirouettes). I had watercolored this image last night and put the little pearls on it. I hope the challenge does not come after me for that. The challenge was to use one stamping wheel (Posies Wheel is used in pink pirouette behind the image which is very hard to see in this picture), one image (Bloomin Beautiful Blooms), one sentiment (Happy Mother's Day typed on the computer and punched out using my Ribbon tags trio from Spellbinders), and one embellishment (Brown ribbon). When I went looking for the dp to match the color challenge, I saw how difficult it was to find these colors together!! Lol! I had bought the Bella Birds paper from SU a while ago and hadn't opened it. Wow was I ever amazed to see these colors! These colors are so awesome together and I love this paper!!!! Thanks Christine for making think outside of the box or my comfort zone!!!

Yesterday when I went to check out the Mojo Monday sketch for this week's sketch challenge I thought I would just for the fun of it look at the winners for last week's sketch challenge and look at their cards. There were so many amazing cards last week!!!!! To my utter amazement I saw the name "Chris" as one of the top 7 winners. Still oblivious, I clicked into the link to see the card and it was mine!!! Woo hoo!!! I had made the top 7. I was so surprised and honored! I kept on pinching myself for a while to see if it was real. I am so thankful and yet surprised that I won!! I loved so many of the creations there. I would not want to be the one to have to choose. LOL! Here is my creation or entry. I can't wait to pick out my Verve stampset. I have been keeping my eye on them for quite a while.

As if this excitement was not enough......I was also invited to be a part of Spiral Whisper Design Team!!! Kitty emailed me last week so I have known for a little while but is being posted on the Spiral Whisper blog today so I thought it was safe to share with you all. I am so excited to be a part of such a talented team of ladies. They have so many exciting new releases coming up that I look forward to sharing with you all!!

I want to thank everyone for visiting my blog. I started this blog right around Christmas and begun as an Our Daily Bread designs designer in January (which I love so much!! The team is so talented and they have become a very special part of my life. Here is the project I created from this inspiration. My "My Favorite Things stamps" have been neglected lately so the wine theme gave me the perfect opportunity to pull out my Meet You at the Cafe stampset out and create a wine gift canister and card to match. The earthy colors are also inspired from the photo. It was a fun project!! The awning on the card is made with a flocked paper and I added Velvet to the top and a piece of black paper punched out with an EK success punch to the bottom. It is popped out more at the bottom to create a real awning look. The background DP paper on both projects is from Basic Grey's Urban Prairie collection. Many pieces on both the canister and card are dry embossed using cuttlebug folders. The images are watercolored and paper pieced. It was fun to get to play with this set again.

Flutter By Wednesday #53

Good Morning!!!

Today is Wednesday so guess what that means....Yes, it is Flutter By Wednesday!!! Each Wednesday Danni and the Flutter By team have a new challenge for you. This week is a fun one, not only because it is my first time to play as a Flutter By Team member but because of the challenge itself. This week's challenge is to create a card with butterflies or a fairy (and just for clarification we decided any person with wings can qualify as a fairy because it is to hard to judge some of the fairies out there) plus use punches or die cuts on your creation!!! There are so many new punches and die cuts out there! The sky is the limit on this challenge!!





For my creation, I decided to go with butterflies as my theme. Since time is limited and I so love challenges, I incorporated several other challenges into my creation as well including:





-Flutter by Wednesday to use butterflies or fairies plus use a punch or diecut on your card. I used several of my favorites!


- CC213 (bashful blue, so saffron, and close to cocoa)


- ssnotime82 (hang it up, have a tag or charm hanging on your card) I have a flower hanging from one of my butterflies


- FTTC11 (Flourishes Timeless Tuesday Challenge hosted by my ODBD DT sister, Becca) to have piercing on your card. I used my ornare to pierce in the corners.


-TLC216 to stamp on metal ( I punched out my MS butterflies and colored and embossed them)

I am so sorry the photo is so dark. It has been nothing but cloudy here and I just had a really hard time getting the right lighting. Anywho onto my creation.....

The background image is from the SU Freshcuts stampset. I stamped in Timber Brown stazon then added some so saffron and close to cocoa vines. Some of the flowers were colored with crayon (crayon resist) and I sponged bashful blue over top. The butterflies are punched out of a soda can, embossed with the swiss dot cuttlebug folder, stamped with Bashful Blue, and glittered. The flowers are punched out of dp using a Fresh Flower punch from SU. The frame is a recessed frame using my newest dies that I just received- Labels Four!!! I love the shape. The shape of the card is also made using a nesties die (mega curved rectangle). The dp is SU Apricot appeal for the background and a scrap of Parisian Summer for the frame.

Exciting News/ OCCC Botanical Garden and SFYTT-TLC216 Spoonful Of Sugar

I hope everyone had an awesome Easter!! Although my weekend was very busy, it was a very blessed day!! My parents spent the weekend and after our wonderful Easter Church Service , Scott's family joined us for dinner as well. It was a great day!!!


Over the weekend, I received the great news that I am invited to be a part of Danni's Flutter By Wednesday team. Danni has been hosting this challenge for a year now. She and her team are extremely talented. I look forward to get to know them all better and join this awesome crafting venture with them. I am so excited to become a part!!! I will get to share my first post as a DT team member on Wednesday a.m!! Thanks for this awesome opportunity, Danni!!


Today I have two projects to share with you. The first is a card I made for Saturday's Inspirational Challenge. I used this week's OCCC sketch and the CAS09 (to use distressing) challenge as well. I used the Peace on Earth set from Our Daily Bread Designs and the SU Thoughts and Prayers. The shape was made using one of my favorite nestabilities (mega curved rectangles). The dove was embossed in gold, cut out and mounted on dimensionals. The tags were made from the Spellbinders Trio Tags set. The ribbon is Ribbon Bowtique. The dp is from Martha Stewart. I dry embossed the back panel of the card and the circle with the birds and swirls (Cuttlebug embossing folder). This card is going to be sent to a good friend who lost a family member. Hope she likes it.

The second card I would like to share with you today is for Today's TLC216 Challenge, to stamp metal, Color Challenge CC212 (Close to cocoa, Riding Hood Red, and Pretty in Pink), and last week's SFYTT sketch ( I know I am a little late! Better late than never, right?). The stamps I used are the strawberry from Tart and Tangy (SU) and Penny Black's Sugar Sweet Dreams. Isn't this image just darling!! Penny Black has some adorable images!! The spoon is stamped on metal (the inside of a soda can) and adhered with dimensionals. The image is colored with prismas and gamsol, cut out, and layered for dimension. The strawberries were inked with SU (Riding Hood Red for the bottom and mellow moss, Riding Hood Red and Old Olive for the leaves). The panel around the image was dry embossed with the textile folder and paper pierced. The strawberry panels were also paper pierced. The DP is from SU Bella Rose and Parisian Breeze Specialty DP. The flowers are prima and flower fusion too (Pink felt flower). The jar was embossed for a shiny appearance. The flourish is a BossKut die.

OCCC Easter Hydrangea/ FBW-High hopes Fairy

Hello all!! I can't believe today is only Friday. With Scott home today, it felt like Saturday. I am so glad it is not Easter yet though since my house and dinner plans are not ready yet. Our family will be blessed to have parents here for the weekend and my inlaws will be joining us on Sunday as well. Nicki and Meghan, my girls, are really looking forward to having them all here. Today I bought the groceries, tomorrow it is time to cook, cook, cook....

Today I would like to share two projects with you. The first is one that I made today for the OCCC Challenge (make an Easter Card),CAS09 (Keep in clean and simple but add distressing), and the LSC215 (incorporate 3 layers-not including the base, three focal points and three colors. My three colors are baja breeze, chocolate chip, and so saffron. My three focal points are the image panel, the ribbon, and the sentiment panel. I colored my Inkadinkado Hydrangea with prisma colors and gamsol. The sentiment is from the Cross of Christ set from Our Daily Bread Designs. The brown ribbon is American Crafts Glittered Ribbon. The blue ribbon is Dashes and Dots ribbon from Michaels. The shape of the card punched out with a mega curved rectangle nestie. I love this die!!! I used my favorite Parisian Breeze Specialty paper. The edges are paper pierced and distressed in Chocolate Chip ink. I dry embossed the back panel using the swiss dot folder.

I used a fairy from High Hopes. It is just such a cute image. My friend, Michelle, sent it to me. Thanks Michelle. I colored it with copics. The paper is from My Mind's Eye. I stiched this one and added hemp and three buttons. My label is stuck to the SU tab punchout.

OCCC Easter Poppy Pocket Card

Hello All! I don't know why it seems like Friday today but it does. It must be because Scott is off from work tomorrow and I won't be homeschooling the girls. I decided since the schools are off tomorrow and my husband is home that we could all use a break. It is suppose to rain all weekend but we will make the most of our long weekend anyway.

The card I am sharing with you today is one that I made for Monday's TLC215 to make a pot pocket card. It was a lot of fun with minimal stamping. I decided to make it an Easter Card for the OCCC Challenge as well. The flowers are cut out and dimensionalized using the Autumn Leaves- Pretty Poppies DP. Aren't those flowers so bright and cheerful. The sentiment is from Our Daily Bread Designs- I Am the Way set. The link for making this pocket card is here.The pots is dry embossed using the Sizzix Argyle textured folder. The top of the pot is sprayed with pearl glimmermist although it is hard to see in the picture. The velvet ribbon was a clearance item that I bought from a scrapbooking store that recently closed. It is from Little Shoe Box.

Mojo 81 Tea for Two / A flower for you..

Good Morning!! Today the sun is shining!!! 39 degrees but sunny. I will take it!! I hope everyone is well. I am still a little off. I suffer from IBS and diverticulitis so occasionally I have some terrible bouts. This too shall pass!

Today I have two card to share with you. The first one I made for the MOJO81 sketch this week. I also used CC213 (So Saffron, Close to Cocoa and Bashful Blue), MTTSC17 (use a new or old stamp you have never used before), and Challenge 25 of the Secret Crafter to use stiching on your card. I love the Elizabeth Bell images and seldom get the chance to stamp with them. I bought this Strawberry Tea (Sugar Nellie) from Funky Kits over 2 months ago. I was so excited to get it and just never inked it up! Lol!! I watercolored the image, papertoled it, and added glitter here and there. The dp is from SU's retired Parisian Summer and DCWV Nursery Stack. The flourishes are Bosskut and the leaves are MS Fern punch. For the stiching I used some fancy stiches on my sewing machine. The panel behind the image is dry embossed with the textile embossing folder (Cuttlebug). The butterfly is a blue moon charm. The flower is from Prima. Isn't is gorgeous?!! The saying says "Time is better when shared with a friend."

The second card is one that I made for today's sketch challenge SC223 and WT210 (To use stickers on your card). There is nothing stamped on this card!!! Lol! The flower is a Martha Stewart Flower. I tried to add as much texture as I could to this card since it is for my grandmother's 95th birthday this weekend. She is legally blind. When I go to see her, she touches my face to see me so I know she will be feeling this card as well. I used a lot of nesties, punches and textured a lot of the panels with the textile Cuttlebug folder (including the butterfly which I punched with a MS butterfly punch). The punch I used for a lot of the borders is from EK Success which Michael's now carries!! The yummy paper is Tea Party from SU. I decided to keep is monochromatic. I love the clean and elegant look it leaves. I decided to use a fancy stich on my sewing machine. What fun!! The lace is the last in my stash (boo hoo!). I also added the bling flourishes for some extra texture. I was going to put a message in the inside of my hodgepodge hardware but when I was experimenting with the placement, I really liked the look of the pattern paper and punching through the piece of hardware so I left it. The whole card took me less than 45 minutes! That is good for two reasons. One, I have to send it out TODAY! and two because I have to type up my homeschooling reports for my girls today (I don't usually procrastinate but I am this time!! LOL No more procrastinating. Time to get to it!!Can you help? Can you donate cards to our troops?

Sumi, a young lady whom I have befriended, buys and makes cards for the troops. She has summoned my help in meeting her goal in sending cards for the troops. She tirelessly puts time and money into donating cards to the troops. Her goal this month is to get 950 cards to send to Iraq (at the request of one of the commanding officers). These cards are not meant to send to the troops for themselves but rather ones that they can use to send to their families. Being away from their families they need birthday cards for their kids and wives, miss you cards, thinking of you, get well soon, baby cards... More boy or guy cards are needed since there seem to be more girly cards out there. The guys, I guess, prefer cards with a small message on the inside. Do you have extra cards that you would like to donate to a good cause? Can you help Sumi make her goal of 950 cards? Baby Blessing Dress and Romper and an Award!!

Happy Monday Everyone!! I hope everyone had a great weekend! I am still a bit under the weather but trying to plug away at homeschooling my girls and working at a slow pace on some projects.

Today I would like to share a project I made for Sunday's Featured Stamper Challenge FS174. This week's featured stamper is Julie , a very talented and sweet girl and a fellow Divine Diva of the Divine Diva Inspiration Challenge Team. I had a hard time just picking one project from her awesome gallery. But the dress card in her gallery caught my eye. I thought it would work perfectly for a baby card with the new release Children of God from Our Daily Bread designs sentiments. I wanted to make a his and her baby card so I also made a onesie/romper that would be appropriate for a boy. I used the paisley design from IS174 (French Bull) to pick out my paisley DP (Making Memories). The apron is made of a glittered vellum from K&Co. The yummy ribbon is from American Crafts! I used the EK Success small heart border punch for the bottom of the dress and a scalloped fiskars for the collar. The onesie is textured with a Sizzix Argyle Embossing Folder.I uses an oval nesties to make the collar. The belt is a piece of American Crafts ribbon with a slide of Hodgepodge Hardware. The snaps at the bottom are silver brads. I think the look kind of cute.
Grace, of Th-Ink-ing of You, and Michelle, of Inky Scraps, gave me this awesome blog award. I feel so honored and appreciate their thoughtfulness. SC222 Baby Butterfly Shaker Card and Woven Basket

Hello All! I hope everyone has been having a great weekend. My stomach has been quite off and I have been living in the bathroom it seems. I am going to try to may this post short so bear with me.

A good friend of mine recently had a baby girl after she has miscarried twice. I wanted to make something special for her. So I made this card and basket.

Danni is an awesome stamper and has been hosting a Flutter By Wednesday on her blog. Up until now I have not had the opportunity to play along. I made time this week. This week's challenge was to create a card with butterflies or fairies and no Designer Paper. I decided to use the ATS Blog challenge from last ,as well, to make a card that uses only color on the image. The background is dry embossed using the cuttlebug textile folder. I used Our Daily Bread design's Children of God released on April 1 for the sentiment and the butterflies from SU Priceless inked in Pink Pirouette. The frame is the new Classice Nesties frame which is also dry embossed and embossed with shimmery clear embossing powder to make it stick out. I love shakers so I decided to make a shaker for this card and used this week's Sketch 222 challenge on SC. The clear pacifier is one that I have saved for years that was on of my baby shower favors (My youngest daughter is now 6. Lol!) The flowers are hand crocheted and have a prima flower on top. The punches used include a MS butterfly punch, a MS heart border punch, and an EK Success Border Punch.

The second part of the gift is a woven basket that I made using this week's featured tutorial. It was a little more difficult than real basket weaving but I think it turned out cute. The handles and border around the sentiment are paisley which was inpired by yesterday IC174 challenge on SC. The sentiment is again from Our Daily Bread design's Children of God stampset.

A Double Challenge-Unfoiled Love/ Blog candy for a worthy cause

Good Morning All!! I figured that today is such a super busy day that I should really post my entry for today now. I was hoping to get an early start on today's limited supply challenge before my girls were up but for some reason my computer says there is a broken link. I can get anywhere but there. I guess someone is trying to tell me something, like get other things done today that need to be done. I can't help it...it is an addiction!

Before I share my project for today I wanted to share some blog candy that is the sweetest ever not just because of the goodies offered but because of the sweet generosity of Heather who is trying to help a friend in need. The card I am going to share with you today is for yesterday's TLC212 Foil It Challenge and Wednesday's Sketch Challenge 222. I used Our Daily Bread design's New Release "Love" I had originally planned on calling it "Foiled love because of the challenge and the foil paper but I decided it was slightly inappropriated for a wedding card. lol! The Love set is a perfect set for inspirational wedding or anniversary cards and the foil paper I have been hoarding was perfect. The foil dp is from Brenda Walton's Peppermint Stick. As you can see, this card would never fit in a limited supply challenge. Once I got started, I just had to add more and more elegant embellishments. First I had a K&Co. Die Cut tag. I traced the outline onto a piece of K&Co. Glitter Paper. I stamped the verse from Our Daily Bread Design's Love set on a piece of white CS. cut out a rectangle slightly smaller than the tag, rounded the edges with my corner rounder punch from EK Success, and dry embossed the verse with the wrong side up so it became textured but not so textured that you could not read the verse. I punched holes around the tag and laced a thread of beads from Michael's bridal department. The bigger butterfly is a Blue Moon charm which was silver. I embossed it in gold instead. The front of the tag has a hole in it that had white sheer gold ribbon threaded through and a thread of faux pearls tied with a piece of gold cording. The hole is then covered with two prima flowers and a beautiful pearl button I bought at a fabric store. The lace is one of my frugal buys that I have been using a lot lately. The yummy velvet is so rich!!! It is distributed from Prima Marketing and I bought it on sale at Michaels. The picture does not even begin to show the lushness of the ribbon and lace against the foil paper. If you notice, I sewed on my card. I was able to get my sewing machine working again!!!! Woo Hoo!! It still is not liking metallic thread but it sews with normal thread!!

Divine Diva Inspiration Challenge/ SFYTT Sketch

Today is the kick off of the Divine Diva Inspiration Challenge which will be posted every first and third Thursday of the month. Just like SC, an inspiration post will be posted and you use that post or picture to create a card or project. Here is today's inspiration piece (bed linens and pillows only) from Land Of Nod.

This is the card I made using the inspiration.

When I saw this inspiration, I right away thought of the 09 in colors of Stampin Up. I had wanted to do more of a silhoette of the flowers to match the pink bedspread. After I stamped the flowers from SU- Heartfelt, I decided that it really needed more, so I did the outline in embossed gold. The sketch is from Jenn D's "Sketch For You to Try for this week." The dp is from SU's Candy Lane. The butterflies are a Martha Stewart punch. I am loving the EK Success punch I used on the border and on the image frame. Since my sewing machine broke, there is no sewing this time. I did a lot of paper piercing instead.

Exciting News and a card made with a New Release

Hello All! As sunny as it was yesterday is as gloomy as it is today. It is super cloudy and rainy today. I have been pretty tired today since I didn't sleep well last night. I did make a lot of cards though. Yeah!! The only thing to dampen my mood is after I finished the cards I am sharing today, my sewing machine broke. I sure hope I can fix it. I will be in withdrawal without it. I have my fingers crossed.

Today I have some news to share but before I do I would like to share two cards that are made with two New Releases from Our Daily Bread Designs. The first is using the 1 Corinthians 13:4-8 and the second is using Love One Another. Boy did I wish I had these a few weeks ago when I needed to make a bunch of Anniversary and Wedding cards. These are so appropriate and beautiful!!

The first card is made using the 1Corinthians 13:4-8 stamp from Our Daily Bread Designs that was released today. I used yesterday's CC212 color challenge on SC. The colors to be used were Pink Pirouette, Riding Hood Red and Chocolate Chip. I used the top note die to stamp the passage on. The yummy dp is from SU Bella Rose. The ribbon is available at the Little Ribbon Shop on Ebay. (It is so nice and thick and satiny.) The swirls used around the edges of the sentiment or passage is from SU Priceless. I created the corners using the MS floral border punch for the brown and the pink is a piece of the Cuttlebug Vintage Corners. I just bought the border punch for the bottom of the card yesterday since Michaels had a sale on their new EK Success punches. The pearls are from Our Daily Bread Designs as well. They have really expanded the products they carry!!

The second card is using today's sketch challenge hosted by Roxi on SC. I wanted to make this an elegant wedding card or anniversary card so I used ODBD Ivory Prism Metallic paper and gold cs from Paper Co and K&Co. I used the intertwined hearts from Our Daily Bread Designs New Release -Love One Another. I dry embossed the background using two different embossing folders from Cuttlebug. I just found the yummy Prisma Gold lace at Michaels. To me this screams elegant. I added lots of layers, ribbon, gold cording, and pearls. The image is gold embossed and layered. On the bottom I used my new EK Success punch once again. The card is sewn in gold metallic thread. Believe it or not, that rose button I found at a Walmart when I was away this fall. It was the perfect addition!
